As an immigrant who moved to Canada from India, just 3 yrs ago I can say India is affordable , medical services are also affordable and accessible, food is affordable accessible all through the night, transportation is cheaper and better. Weather is fantastic , except during the rainy season. \n\nCanada is not comparable to India, it is like ordering a plate of panipuri from a 7 * hotel and saying Bhayya pyas dhalo at the street vendor.

No surprise there, \n\nCanada is NOT attractive to migrants anymore due to multiple reasons.\n\nSoon a 1 bedroom apartment will probably cost 5000$/month for rent in the Major Cities making it impossible to settle here for newcomers.\n\nThe healthcare system has serious problems due to a lack of Doctors and Nurses who left for better paying jobs in US or Europe.\n\nIf you need immediate Specialist care you will probably have to pay hundreds of dollars just to see someone in the Private sector because the Public Health System has huge waiting lists and is understaffed.\n\nYou won’t be able to get a Government Family Doctor because the remaining ones have thousands of patients already so they’re swamped.\n\nYou can wait even 10 years for a Family Doctor and still won’t get one.\n\nYou can’t be bumped up on waiting lists for Doctors or Specialists even if you are in a critical condition because you aren’t a Celebrity / Politician / Millionaire.\n\nOnly those with a lot of money, status, power get immediate medical attention in case of an emergency.\n\nMost of the traditional medical costs like and eye exam, treating an ingrown toe nail, Physiatrie treatment are NOT covered by the Provinces anymore so you will have to pay out of pocket hundreds of dollars again.\n\nSome Provinces are already copying the US healthcare system which is 100% Private and for profit so don’t be surprised if you you’re gonna have to pay even for an infusion.\n\nThe minimum wage is only 15$/hour in most provinces when in reality you need at least 40$/hour to survive the ridiculous cost of living.\n\nYour typical salary will go 45% to taxes and 45% to rent leaving almost nothing for food / bills / gas / insurance etc. \n\nYou will struggle to make ends meet and possibly starve a week or two every month just to say that you’re “Canadian” \n\nThat is the sad reality but Canada is in a deep hole right now.\n\nUK is in a similar situation too.

Canada has to get its house in order for its own people not for all the people coming without being properly vetted according to our “not so good” immigration Law. Our country has many serious problems to address and fix i.e., health care, military funding, police funding, housing, affordable food. We need our borders strengthened and we need a government that puts the citizens first, not a government leader who with his every off the wall action makes us look an easy touch for the criminal element roaming the world. An excellent example of that is the horror story that is New York City.

Since I was a kid I wanted to live in Canada. Some of my extended family’s out there. Policies of the current government have killed any desire I have to live there.

As an Indian who moved to study in Canada 5 years ago, It's the best decision I've made in my life. I work in tech and the money I make in a year in Canada, is what I'd make in 10 years in India. I save around 20-25 lakhs every year even after living my best life. Not sure what these news channels are on about.

Indian news exaggerating the situation in Canada. I've been living in Canada past 5 years. I've never made more money and never lived my life better. \n\nWhen a million students come to study every year in 2 major intakes, it's obviously hard to find jobs. Canadian government has rightfully put a cap on this number to prevent this. The only mistake they did was not putting a cap 3-4 years ago.

Those who have bought houses will have to pay the mortgage for a long time. Spend 25-30 lakhs, live 4-5 together in basements and do hard labor jobs (warehousing, retail cashier, security). All of Canada is totally fcked, for such a big country they for sure don't have enough real estate for people to live. I remember back in 90's the rent for nice 2 bedroom apt was 400 here in Kitchener, that was 40% of the full time minimum wage at the time, according to same minimum wage percentage now, the 2 bedroom here cost 2500$, so that means that full time earnings at minimum you can't even cover your rent.

Those they should go for a trip in Afghanistan, or Ukraine, or Russia, they would understand that we are well here in Canada.

Let me say it, u didn't do ur research before moving abroad, abroad life is not for lazy ppl who don't want to work on their own. Didn't u know how was the life abroad wen u have ur relatives there. I virtually grew up in Australia from school days. I have totally different experience of living in Australia and I once tried to switch to Canada but eventually revert to Australia. Feeling Canada was not for me.

Speaking as someone living in South Vancouver, here are two rules I live by:\n\n1) Never leave your bike outside for extended periods of time. Especially closer to a downtown area because it will get stolen. If thieves can't get through your lock, they'll just strip the bike everything that isn't locked down. It's actually very common to see just a bike frame locked to something while missing every other part. \n\n2) Don't go to downtown Vancouver as it's drug city. It's the one downtown area in metro Vancouver that I say has zero redeeming factors. All the other neighbouring cities are nice, with Richmond in my opinion being the best of the bunch, but downtown Vancouver? It's the closest experience to Seattle in Canada that you'll find.

I have been told to go back where I came from which is Comical as Az. was México first. I see whats happening their and glad I am here. I totally get that going back to Gaza for you is out of the question but hope you find your happiness somewhere close. The world, not just Canada is going down the drain. Ask any Eukrainian. Some of these points are so spot on. Doctor's who only communicate by phone, difficult to move money across the border, overpriced phone plans - living in Canada you wouldn't even notice this because it's always been this way, but coming from a developed nation like in Europe it's really stark.
