I came to Canada as a Landed Immigrant 50 years ago. I have made a good life, raised children, always had a job. I feel as Canadian as anybody who was born here. I resent those newcomers who only exploit the services they never paid for and trample our decency and tolerance. I grieve for our values being undermined and overridden by mindsets that will never adapt.

People in Canada don’t hate Indians but it seems Indians don’t want to be Canadian they want to turn Canada into India.

Immigrants are not aliens, they are legal immigrants. On the other side, original Canadians are to be blame for their low birth rate, due to which government hasn't any choice but to have foreigners to run the businesses and dialy life course. The low birth rate is real issue. If the people of Canada didn't focus on this, sooner or later foreigners will overtake Canada. And of course when immigrants comes, surely they will bring their culture and living style too. Asking them to adopt Candian culture from the first day is senseless. There is no point of blaming immigrants for overtaking Canada.

Canadian that spent 16 years in Japan. I went as an individual. I stayed as an individual. Married a Japanese. Came back to Canada for a pension and can't wait to leave. I were in Japan and if I saw a group of Canadians arrive expecting Japan to change for them, I would have been severely pissed off with them. Every other country and normal immigrant that came as an individual or individual family probably thinks the same way I do. No one in any country likes to see "Mass Immigration" and even Japan these days are looking at an influx of half a million Indians and who knows how many more Africans. This will change Japan and they'll turn a good culture into their shitty culture and I'm not happy with that. I liked being one of few. Yes I had American, Canadian, Australian, Kiwi and British friends as well as Japanese friends. But we were all individuals that adopted the way of living in Japan into our everyday lives. If I go back, I don't want to be in india. It'd be like living in Brampton. What pisses me most is the attitude of that muslim guy. Yes you are out breeding us but not all majorities rule. In Malaysia, Malays rule despite being the smaller population. They have more Chinese and Indians there but they have to live under the rule of the native Malays. So you will have to do the same in Canada despite if your population is larger. You adapt to this country. The country doesn't convert to accomodate you. Individuals are key. Groups are the bane of all countries.

I am First Nations and I have been concerned about how the face and language of Canada has changed. The first thing we noticed in our small town was that the taxi companies were taken over by East Indians. Now days you are hard pressed to get a taxi anywhere in Canada and get a driver who hails from India. I used to like Tim Horton's until I needed an interpreter to make my order, one doesn't speak English so, she had to get another worker to take my order. You go into any 7/11 or any gas station, or convenience store. All are staffed by people from India. But, it isn't just Indians. There are many other immigrants coming to Canada from China, Japan etc. None of these immigrants do not speak very good English. I have faced prejudice from these people who do not recognize my rights as an indigenous person. Going for an xray, blood test the field is mostly Asian. I have to get cataract surgery and I couldn't understand the Chinese receptionist and had to spell most of what I said to her. That means their business is mostly with Chinese-speaking people. As a First Nations person my status will always be a minority. With every immigrant that comes to Canada my status as an indigenous person diminishes. Taking transit shows me that english or french are ever spoken. Canadians are the new minority.

Put yourself in the place of the person who just arrived and feel how much they are suffering to start a new life, find a new place, find furniture, change career and look for a new job, get the cultural shock and cold weather shock and learn how to survive the cold winter and learn a new language, and make new contacts, new friends and new families maybe… too much to handle while you are not giving a fuck about all his struggles but pushing him to change his culture automatically like if it’s magic and at the same time he is not aware why on earth is everyone against his religion or accent or way of thinking and your rejections towards them by showing clearly your attack towards them here online without shame! Those people who are escaping from wars or genocides or poverty to find a better opportunity to be able to feed their families abroad, you have no consideration for what brought them here or what they had endured and you want to let them endure more above their struggle to survive all the inconvenience in a capitalist frozen country! Please try to be nice to each other and teach one another how to live respecting one another boundaries and culture! a country with many nationalities is multicultural and multiculturalisme can’t exist with racism and discrimination. I agree with you to the extent of your understanding of Canadian culture. However, immigrants to Canada should be aware that the First Nations and indigenous people of Canada often have to seek a better life in other countries because colonizers and their descendants show no regard for treaty rights and have disenfranchised First Nations. The government hides the facts about the plight of indigenous Canadians and lie to Canadian immigrants and citizens, always to divide and conquer. Immigrants often don't realize that most indigenous Canadians are living in worse conditions than what the immigrants themselves came from, and few live as comfortably as white Canadians. When white people talk about how hard they have it because of immigrants, they should think about what First Nations have to deal with everyday because of them. Why is there a French-speaking province and not a Cree or Anishnabe speaking province?

Liberals don't see migrants as a problem because they fall back on the reality that Canada was built with the help of immigrants. But that was a long time ago. It was a different situation completely. There needed to be people brought in to build, plant and develop the country at that time. We are no longer in need of mass migration as we already have a developed country. I wonder how many of the liberals would change their positions if the policy was, if you want a new migrant to come into Canada you have to pay for them out of your own paycheques and if you don't want a new migrant you don't have to pay. Pretty sure, very few people would want to pay when it is put that way but we are ALL forced to pay to cover that tab.

Immigrants come here and make more babies just to get the child tax credit!! Canada is in the same boat as England and Australia where our government is run by an Anglo-Saxon form of government.
