Wish I could go to Canada ? and get asylum! Damn! A fresh new start would be amazing

Man, a lot of agencies run by Chinese help their clients through these shady practices. I remember going through one of these agencies after university to see if I can get some government scholarships to furthur my education with hopes that it'll help with job prospects, and they advised me that they would pad my resume with bogus employment history in order to meed the scholarship requirements, and I noped out of there. I wonder what is it about China that encourages people to turn to scams/shady practices?

What's going on here? How is this man acting bossy after all he's done? I live in China and believe me, you can't do this in China. You will be deported and everything you have will be seized without a single reason. How is he still in Canada? Why would the Chinese respect the Canadian gov't if you won't take actions on people who commit such crimes in the country?

It’s not only ghost immigrants. There are ghost employment too. A lot of people, mainly those rich international students who do not want to go back to China after graduation or failed to graduate but would remain in Canada without permanent residents status. They would pay some corrupted companies to hire them (what a joke), pretending that they have a full-time job in order to apply for permanent residency in Canada. All paycheque, T4, And whatsoever are genuinely fake... ?

Ok so there's a lot of back and forth racial comments in here so I'm going out on a limb. I've been living in castlemore bramton since 2005 1st phase. It was multicultural then, which is how it should be. I grew up in Woodbridge where there were more Italians than other cultures, but I could get a job there,and I did not feel out of place. The problem that I have with Brampton is that, the Indians do not hire any other culture in their business places, from the banks straight down to the grocery stores. I would also like to keep my property value up to par and even that's becoming hard. Segregation is UNACCEPTABLE!!. It bothers me that the government is allowing this to happen. I see job postings online that's asking for Punjabi as a second language. Any job postings in Canada should have either French or English requirement, any other language(s) is a plus. This comment is based on my own experience being a resident of Brampton. Facts is facts!

When Canada’s PM made those remarks he was talking about Syrian refugees that are escaping a civil war. There are literal bombs falling down on Syria. El Salvador does not have that problem, Salvadorians have long been able to work legally in US, they send a lot of money to their home countries and visit quite often because it’s not at war. Why would this man go to Canada? And why was he hiding in a church? Did he break the law??

This is propaganda served up by Trudeau's government to try and silence media with any form of criticism towards Immigration, especially handing out $600 million in payments to social and news media who would not question and only speak favorably on the influx of migrants to Canada. Luckily most Canadians are very aware of what's going on, Trudeau is unilaterally telling Canadians we have to pay for a mass exodus of economic migrants into Canada without a single debate in parliament or even a word to the Canadian people about this horrible idea.

You're lucky if you can even find a LEGAL small 1 bedroom basement for $800/month. Its not common. \nA car? Brampton has the highest insurance premium in all of Canada. \n\nDon't get me wrong. I LOVE Canada, I couldn't see myself living anywhere else because it is my home. \nHowever, when you compare it to india, in India you're only paying for electricity, gas, and food that you need to buy at the grocery store. \nBut if you really needed to budget and save money, food is LITERALLY growing in your backyard! All the veggies, fruits, etc. You just need to buy the grains and proteins! \n1.5 lakhs sounds great per month. But 1.5 lakhs is realistically not enough to live in Canada. \n\nDon't believe me? Google cost of living in Canada. Google how much a family of 4 would need to make to survive per month in Canada. Also, make sure to check out CANADIAN WEBSITES for this data. (.ca sites or try Global News or CTV news since they have this data)\n\nThe problem is everyone that comes to Canada always comes only to one area which is usually Toronto! However this makes the cost of living go up to accommodate this many people. Compared to Regina, or St. John's not many people immigrate there! It is a smaller city compared to Toronto but at least it's more affordable.\nDo you're research before coming here. Find out whats the best situation for YOUR FAMILY and what YOU can afford. \nCanada is a beautiful place, and yes, Brampton does have a lot of the Punjab culture, but don't be fooled. The thing that needs to be explained to all would be immigrants: Go to the US Embassy in your country or whatever country you want to immigrate to and seek asylum or visa first, if the consular won't give you documentation, don't even expect to be welcomed into the country later, and if you are in the US illegally, visa expired, schools out or you crossed the border illegally you are committing a crime that could land you in jail and deported, you may even lose the right to enter the US later! If you are here illegally now, go to your consulate, they can help you!

It is NOT ok to violate the borders and the sovereignty of another country just as it is not ok to break into someone's house. I am a legal immigrant, and it would NEVER occur to me to enter illegally or to overstay my visa had I been denied legal status in the US. Please go home and put your energy and intelligence into making YOUR country a better, safer place for your kids. A country is nothing but a PRODUCT of its people and their culture, values and belief system. It is YOUR home culture that makes your home country the horrible, dangerous, corrupt place that it is. Bring the western culture that you learned here home with you and work hard to shift things for the better in your home country.

Wish more would go to Canada

By these comments, Canadians hate immigrants even more than American white supremacists. This man is scared for himself and his family. His case is just ignorance. He doesn’t know the proper ways to go about it. Him getting a lawyer and what not has showed he’s a bit smarter than many immigrants seeking asylum but most cases people don’t know the proper way to migrate out of their countries. They just know that there are better and safer opportunities elsewhere. As for everyone whining about why he doesn’t speak English, not EVERYONE CAN LEARN AT THE SAME PACE. There’s people that live in other countries for years and only know enough to get around and then theres people that just pick up on languages In less than a year. The language doesn’t matter. Yes there are laws that should be followed but do people even consider morality? As a Canadian I detest seeing my hard earned tax dollars going to this BS. If it were up to me I would have this traitorous pig hung like the sack of crap he is. He brought a bunch of Syrian Refugees to the my home Province (a.k.a State) of New Brunswick which is the most economically depressed area of Canada and the most taxed. Most of the people here struggle to find work. These so called refugees are being treated better with handouts than our own populace who needs this money and paid into it all their lives.\nCalling for a rebellion!

Even if he did have a legitimate reason for staying, Canada would’ve never accepted him. You are only granted asylum status at the first country next to your own. The fact he stayed in the US and then decided to go to Canada says that he is an economic migrant. Also, I’ve found that speaking English helps you a ton.

People need to learn you can’t just hop the border and hope that you’re automatically going to become a citizen. \nThat’s what happened under obama. I would venture to suggest that part of the problem is one of language barrier? He's been in the US for 15 years and he's been in Canada for 2, and even now, he doesn't speak or understand a word of English! If he desires to live in Quebec later, he will also need to speak French? He really won't go far in any English/French language country, if, after all that time, he hasn't mastered the most basic terms in anything but Spanish!

It may have helped his case if he had learned English from his kids as they learned it in America. It would show a willingness to let go of his past life that he ran away in fear of and assimilate.

I’m not Canadian, so I don’t have as much of an understanding of their process; however, much like in the U.S., you have to have a legitimate and compelling reason to seek asylum, for example, those escaping a literal war in Syria where death was imminent. Not that I don’t have compassion for this man wanting to better his life and that of his family, but seeking asylum from El Salvador because they have a lackluster economy, crime and violence (while a good enough reason to relocate elsewhere) isn’t a case for asylum. *shrug* Asylum is meant for exigencies, emergencies, imminent danger, which doesn’t look like it applies here. My guess is this man thought seeking asylum would be a way to go around needing expensive documents to do a standard immigration and the process flopped on him.

I was born in Seattle and left to Canada (married) when I was in early 20's!  This then was a good change for me as Vancouver was a great city compared to Seattle, moved right downtown and had a blast so for a young person (then) was great.  Met some great people from all over the world and had health care, medical/Dental etc.... I worked in the greater Vancouver area for 8 years and it was tough, very strict, and did not help that I was from the states, white bread Canadian seemed a bit jealous that I was there, sometimes not very friendly.  The Europeans I met were actually better to deal with and I got along quite well with them.  The cost of living was about the same as in Seattle.  After about 8 years being in Canada and working hard I saw America booming and the Canadian dollar was as low as $.62 cents (in late 90's) so I took my craft from Vancouver and brought it to the US just across the border, I became much happier working in the States, I took a little bit of bs but not bad from some that I had a Canadian accent (go figure when I moved up there I had a twang) I really never left the united states I will always be American and I have been still working in the US for over 20 years and deal with mainly Americans on a daily basis from all over the State of Washington.  Depending on where you grow up or end up you should never see a border Seattle and Vancouver have more in common than Vancouver / Calgary in fact most Canadians don't care much for the other provinces.  After 30 years of being part of both countries, I can say that people are people both have great offerings and if you took the best of Canada and America to combine then we would all prosper, there is so much both can learn from each other.  Bottom line:I take the best of both worlds and what they have to offer, yes, I have found less expensive goods in Canada than what they cost in the states.  I have seen it from both eyes, and if you cant be open culturally then stay away.

THATS WHY its best we learn to fix our people in a whole in our country before bringing in anymore foreigners who do not respect our nation. lets stop third world immigration and work on making our country great again. so we can stop all this crime in our neighborhoods. because it hinders our progress. once every race color ethnicity of people are acting right then we will have no prejudice based off color or even gender because everyone is giving everyone respect. but because CRIME IS HIGH in all foreign races, and we continue to disrespect eachother. nobody feels safe anymore. whether your light skinned white or black.

I live in Canada and I can tell you a lot of people here don't like it. Would you like it to happen in your home country? Millions of people from different cultures come in and change the culture of your country? We will have no white majority countries soon. You will always be able to go back and experience your culture. It is only western countries that are expected to dilute their land.
