I love Canada with all my heart but having visited there, i realised their racism was subtle and the racism towards blacks where from the different groups the Chinese, the whites and last but not least the Punjabi Indians.

I have witnessed 1 instance of racism in the states in 10 years living here, and the weird part is that it was from a Mexican guy toward a black guy.

Single variable analysis the last bastion of a news outlets trying to stay relavent. Lucky us we pay for this with our taxes. Yes there's racism but these are pathetic comparisons.

I think it’s really sad that asking someone if they need help is seen as racism.

Get rid of a lot of racism easy - get rid of religion. Religion is a big barrier to integration.

Racism exist everywhere

I don't think racism exists anymore. It's dead. What does exist is stereotypes and discrimination. But it's certainly not racism, no one thinks one race is superior than the other.

racism is a virus probably either worse than COVID-19 or as bad as COVID-19!!\nAnd for me unfortunately may be for a Canadian fortunately Canada get this VIrus which will be a lot more difficult to get rid of than COVID-19....\nPROBABLY WILL NOT EVEN BE POSSIBLE .....

Very well done movie. I live in Toronto, multicultural city. I was very suprised that in contemorary life of Canada the racism would be possible to be present in such tolerant country as Canada is in comparison with nationalism in USA. Especially the story of lady who owns the restaurant shocked me. . . Very sad.

I am a powerful woman raised by my grandparents and my parents in an amazing family. I identify myself as a woman of colour, amazing colour, it embraces me and reflects back my beauty for all around me to see. We were given every opportunity to explore the world where we lived and had passion for reading books, I was encouraged to explore so much of the world and ideologies. Issues of racism existed around me and this was unquestionable, but we had a safe place in a family with committed parents to develop and make our mark on the world. How refreshing to explore the world from a safe place and our parents especially my father encouraged us to mix with people of all cultures, because he firmly believed and I also believe there is only one race, the human race. We look different on the outside but let’s enjoy the fact that God made of one flesh all people. So, impressed with my amazing grandparents and parents... I love myself and I love the world that we live in, even though everyone is not perfect, we are are amazing. I was born in Jamaica, raised in England, UK, and now live in Canada.

@the 22 mark, listen heres the 411, When you go into a shop to actually shop, you act and look different. He had tells that he was not shopping, so they were suspicious. in 50 years I've only ONCE had a security guard actually follow me in a best buy, and it was actually because of the type of coat I was wearing, if you fit a specific group or look a certain way, THIS DOES HAPPEN... OMG there is actually real racism out there, the shops is not one of them

So unfortunate that other people are not oriented in diversification despite of the truth that these people came in Canada by Colonialism. \nWho are we to be mean and negatively speculate against the other people. Following them in the stores, asking them to do more workloads than the other nationalities, not welcoming them unless they belong in the white collar jobs. But then, racism widened even from these nationalities that feel they are more superior than the other nationalities. It's terrible. It's rude and it hurts so much. Covid made us All realize that we r All equal.!

Wow racism shouldnt be a thing !
|
| 2020-04-12 | 0 |
Let me ask. If you walk by a lonely road and at a particular spot you almost get bitten by a snake. The next time you get to that point, what will you do? It is called subconscious programming.. Now racism of any type (black on white, white on black, , Arab on white, arab on black, etc etc) is wrong. The bible is easy and to the point: The heart of man is desperately evil. Blessed are those who realise this early and trust in the righteousness of Jesus and not theirs. The recent covid 19 toilet paper/panic buying saga has at least revealed to many just how they really are.

Wow I never knew of Canada's prejudices. I encounter a lot of Toronto ppl in NYC that I'm not keen on but their personalities just remind me of folks you encounter on the upper Eastside. I have southern roots (SC and MS) and have grown up in Missouri most my life so I know racism. I would hope it couldn't be worse than that in Canada, as I still do want to visit one day soon.

The questions are about being comfortable with tribes, not racism.. its common sense and makes sense

Being black in this planet either in Europe or Canada or United States it's a mind boggling affair because of the systemic racism that runs rampant in white society, they suffer from cognitive dissonance that so call white privilege.

This is play-pretend journalism. If they -actually- wanted to do real journalism and not some undeserved-guilt-provoking, race-baiting propaganda piece, they would have had to go the extra mile and cross-reference such behaviors with cold-hard statistics about crime convictions by ethnicity, showing that the discriminatory behavior is entirely based on racism and not on statistical risk. We're all virtue-signaling non-racists in front of the cameras but at the end of the day, when you're a clerk or a shop owner and you know those stolen items are going to come out of your paycheck one way or another, you have to face reality and analyze patterns in order to survive. Wherever those may lead you to. Sorry not sorry.

I had a teacher back in the sixties (yeah, I know, I'm aging myself), in Toronto, who hated me because of my ethnicity. Oh, and btw, I'm white, and so was he. Racism knows no age, colour, ethnicity, gender, religious or racial boundaries people, remember that.

I totally agree with you Lloyd Douglas and his column black in Canada. I find it to be swept under the carpet as far as racism is concerned, they smile in front of you but behind you they Stab you in the back .well the Americans is right up front I can work with you but I won’t socialize with you, at least you’re truthful.\n\n I find Canadians to be very two face , Hidden they true feeling and pretend a lot . I have experienced the first time in my life racism was within Canada and it brought me to tears. I live in America for so many years no one had ever call me the N word , I never felt so humiliated and lower my self-esteem. So when I was coming to this country they say it was multicultural but that don’t mean black. Even the so-called people they call them selves Brown consider black people as nothing but I am here to say we are something , we are the future , embrace us , celebrate us , and accept us.there are good people and bad people in every race. ?

Closet racism is the norm in Canada, a sad reality?\nRacism is past on from generation to generation, unknowingly stealing true happiness from their own children?

I am so glad this video aired. Personally, I had no idea Canada had these issues. Canada was always shown as a 'safe haven' from racism and from slavery. This is the place where run-a-way slaves escaped to. Although this is a tough subject and many both Black and White wish for this subject to come to a close, there is still so much education required on both sides that need this information. And more importantly, this video does highlight many success stories regardless of the racism and historical oppression that exists, even in modern times. Please do not loose sight of that important fact.

I did the test and had a slight preference towards African Americans. I disagree. I have a HUGE preference towards anyone non white. Sorry, but the years of racism I faced just moulded me to become this way (I'm Asian btw).

@31:22 the dude wasn’t emotional at all, if his girlfriend didn’t step in or he’s by himself, he would have agree with the guy. He’s trying to score some brownie point by answering first while he’s girlfriend was having a emotional breakdown when the reporter asked her a question. \nWe all know deep down, there’s racism within us. But we like to appease to the public when the majority try to appease each other. We all lie to each other to look better on the outside.

I find it very depressing that the history of black people seem incomplete, without reference to slavery.....but most nowadays African Americans, don't know much about slavery......and it should be understood that most Africans were born free, they were never slaves.\n How can we bring more dignity to the black person abroad......seeing that the immediate reaction of being reminded of slavery is racism.\nI would like to hear a renewed rhetoric that identifies the years of slavery in speeches. It packages things.

And racism still exists to this day in our schools, work places, justices system, unions etc. It is time that we start talking about solving this epidemic and stop shying away from it as if it will go away on its own.

Get a brown guy in your trial and you will see how much racism you will get. Infact you also left them out and selected a Black,Asian and European. Why no brown??

its not racism its just how the world works currently\nfor example using something other than race\ncar parks on side of the road. car opens door, unseen bike rider gets angry that the car opened the door in his riding path.\nsame bike rider gets to a red light with people crossing. runs the red light swerving through people but sees no problem with that though.\npeople just self centered. everyone chooses a side and only argues for that side. argues against the other side. can never do anything wrong in their own eyes but watches everyone else telling them they are wrong

There's racism in ever country. The biggest racism is coming from the left that constantly demonize the caucasian race. White kids get bullied as well, and CBC should also be talking about the discrimination by the leftist government that are are giving the majority of jobs to non whites and don't care about the qualifications the job applicants have. CBC is biased ,and funded by the left. Why don't you go to stores owned by non whites and see the racism and discrimination as well. I have first hand experience being called a Kufar.
