Who would want to live in Canada now? Unless you bring a ton of money with you.

I'm a Brit who has lived here 13 years and my advice to any Brit thinking of moving here is not to. If you can live in a nice county and you have a decent job you are better off in the UK. There is a lot of decline in urban areas here, tweaking drug addicts and tent encampments the likes the UK has NEVER seen. It's incredibly expensive to rent if you want to live anywhere remotely interesting. The infrastructure is so bad, unless you have a vehicle or lots of money to keep flying, you will feel incredibly isolated here. Brits are lucky to have such a great network of public transport and close proximity to Europe and all the cheap flights to get you around there. The work life balance is not as good as the UK. Most jobs here will start you on 2 weeks a year and only increase as your service grows. So after 5 years of service you will get 3 weeks and so on. Don't expect 5 weeks vacation until you have put 20 years in with most jobs. Canada is boring, it really is and so are most Canadians who also seem to have no idea what a sense of humour is. I have found new immigrants to be the friendliest, especially those from China, India, Vietnam and the Philippines. Now to the wokeness of the place, oh gosh, it's so bad. The Alberta premier has just announced very sensible and much needed gender reforms which 95% of Canadians agree with. These reforms will protect young gay kids mostly. The left have completely lost their mind over this. Women here are in genuine fear of speaking out regarding their privacy and rights to single sex spaces and sports. In the UK , this is slowly improving I believe. I'm putting things in place so I can leave. I hope things improve once the liberal government are gone but it will take many years to get this country back on track.

I plan on leaving Canada next year so I can survive on my pension. 20 year military vet that has no choice but to take my pension and go elsewhere. Canada is literally becoming unlivable. Adding millions of people per year and no housing is destroying the entire nation.

As an Indian who moved to study in Canada 5 years ago, It's the best decision I've made in my life. I work in tech and the money I make in a year in Canada, is what I'd make in 10 years in India. I save around 20-25 lakhs every year even after living my best life. Not sure what these news channels are on about.

Indian news exaggerating the situation in Canada. I've been living in Canada past 5 years. I've never made more money and never lived my life better. \n\nWhen a million students come to study every year in 2 major intakes, it's obviously hard to find jobs. Canadian government has rightfully put a cap on this number to prevent this. The only mistake they did was not putting a cap 3-4 years ago.

Factual and overall very true. I was born in east Vancouver in 1951 and worked in the city for 34 years so I feel qualified to support your expose. Friends? Terrible place to meet people in general. It’s a Lower Mainland thing not Canada and not BC. I ask people weekly where they grew up and friendliest people are from small towns or possibly blue collar Vancouverites over 55. You have never been to a consulate to apply for visa to Europe, Australia, Canada or US even you were in a very very very very very rich family in those countries ... so never know why pp wanna move to Canada, US or similar countries .... as a Canadian citizen you are free to go to many countries without a visa, That''s one of the best privileges .... Why are you lying? I went to the Canada embassy several times and there are so many people trying to get visa. Many of them get rejected. There is no end. It is difficult to get visa.

Many years sending money to other countries, supporting other people in other countries, not properly taxing money being sent overseas from immigrants brought into Canada sending expendable Canadian dollars to foreign countries, causing Canada to deteriorate starting at that horrible airport in Toronto. Oil n gas sector has failed. The taxes are terrible. Health care is broken. Schools are broken. And yet more money leaves Canada than is returned in modernization. It’s unfortunate but yah it’s going downhill fast.

A multi-cultural, multi-national melting pot is not to everyone's taste. A country with a predominate Muslim population would serve your needs better. I think you would be better suited in a different country than Canada or the US.

My cousin is a renowned medical specialist. Ppl fly in from around the world to see her. She practiced in NY city and she and her scientist husband moved back to Canada. She blamed the insurance system. In Canada, she now sees anyone who needs her and there are no non medical ppl telling her what to offer or not. She says that doctors in the US work for insurance companies and not the patients. In Canada meanwhile, treatment is the priority.
