I think if Muslims openly denounced radicals and went out in force and I mean force and this got repeated across Europe, people might feel less threatened. If it became a real movement across the globe, it would sway opinions. However that said, I doubt this will happen and it is my view that because no commitment has been shown, it will help people reach there own conclusions and they will react in their own ways.

you need a certain amount of money to live on for 2 years plus job prospect plus no criminal record a good edjucation to come here legally so Canadians that pay super high taxes do not need to worry about taking care of people that think they can just come here and exspect its people.to support them and there families .You cant get welfare for 2 years either.We need to keep Canada a.smart and wealthy country .Yes we can help some in very bad situations but we are.only as strong as our weakest people . So much hate here, he is a human being just trying to live a safe life. If the US has $700B for war, we can and should spend a fraction of that on helping people instead of killing them.

Why don't all the nations like US and Canada try to help fix what is happening from the places these people are fleeing, especially if they are murder capitals? They can recruit these migrants to form coalitions to rebuild their nation. What if they are really are going to suffer there, without outside intervention, by being recruited, instead, into gangs or be killed or raped? If we send troops to the middle east for our vested interest, then don't we also have at least some vested interest to send troops in Honduras and El Salvador? We can prevent the entire population from migrating, prevent people from being exploited and hurt while traveling or living illegally and the taxpayers and citizens won't have to pay for court costs, education, healthcare and welfare. There are plenty of things our nation can do to uplift our own destitute and out of luck an alone citizens...with that money. With the money now saved, it can be diverted to cover the costs of our troops, counselors, educators in those nations. Then it is possible and foreseeable to reunite all the undocumented immigrants back to their now safer home countries. I understand why they flee and also understand why the US and Canada cannot absorb these large population of people, and they have the right to determine who is invited in, so....why can't there be more permanent solutions? I feel, certain pathetic political groups are playing these migrants, the law-abiding citizens and others in their game of chess. Lives are not pawns for chess. Is there a hidden path for drugs, money, prostitution that is being quietly supported? Are certain businesses lobbying in the millions and billions to get cheap labor? Is that why this problem is not finally being solved but kept alive for so many years? There are basic solutions that have not been tried in earnest. You cannot just bring everyone in and you cannot just turn your face to the problems these undocumented people face... What a great show. I wish there was a black celebration centre in every big city in Canada. It's wonderful to share this information with my children although it is not enough. Also, Jamaican restaurants are always empty in BC. I always wonder why the food is so good and the restaurants are empty. The chairs need to be comfortable and I like it when there is already a table or two of people (it's like a testimonial without words...) You could perhaps let a table of people eat for free if they stay there all day - it would help.

I think we should help people. I’m an immigrant and my parents got their passage paid but also had to pay it back. Which we did, but still waiting for our $50,000 cheque. My Dad got a job in a town which had low rent. We were a family of five not living in a hotel but part of an army barracks. We were out in the country which freedom for all the kids. Free schooling,dental and Dr and cheep food. Where was this? You ask. Burwash, ont. A self sufficient industrial prison farm. We had a great childhood there. Canadians will have to pay to help house these folks during what will likely be prolonged hotel stays (not just days or a few weeks, but possibly months), it may be better to just help them by paying for a one-way plane ticket back to their original point of origin (or to the nearest safe country to it). Of course it is ideal to help those in need, but we have to think of the many people here who are already in need amongst us. Overall, time to secure our borders ????!

I feel bad for his innocent children to have to go through this. You want to live in another country, you need to follow the law like every else. You learn the language, get the same I.D. We all have to have , and be treated the same as if any American were to illegally cross boarders! What we have to go through just to have identification here should be no different for anyone else! Immigration has ALWAYS been hard but many people make life more difficult when they don't understand a country's laws and/or fail to follow those laws. I know a man who came to the USA with $50 and managed to work and send money to his wife and then one day he wrote to his wife to say he couldn't send any more money because he was buying a bakery. Then he sent for her and they raised two sons, worked very hard in his little business, sent his sons to a private university. They followed the law and all are successful now. I also know a man from Colombia who came to the USA legally and a U.S. businessman saw how diligently he worked and helped him start a business. The American dream works. More than 720,000 new citizens were sworn in recently (in 2016, if my memory is correct).

Seriously, there has to be a way for individuals (not a government) to help these people in their country. I'm not talking about a mere hand out. Surely organizations already exist that know how to improve their situation. Perhaps the next # movement should be help them make their country great.

I'm sure our country has GIVEN billions of dollars to the countries South of us that was supposedly to help build their country improve. But, you know corrupt politicians, both there and hear, have all taken their cuts and left the people of those countries without any hope. Drain our swamp and help drain their swamp.

I put good people to work. When they hover I ask them to help me shop. I get a personal shopper every time. They even help me pick out clothes and accessories. Hey, I turn a bad thing into a win-win for the store and myself. I mean they are there to help me, so why not.

People who can't speak the national language shouldn't be moving to another country especially not illegally. I can't feel sorry for this guy. I mean sure he's probably had a rough time but having kids and then trying to illegally immigrate just doesn't seem like the right way to try to live life especially not to raise a child in. \n\nIf you want to better yourself and your family learn the language and properly apply for a visa and come work here and contribute. These people heard Trudeau speak about open arms at the height of the Syrian refugee crisis. I don't remember his exact words but I'm sure he didn't mean come one, come all, forever and ever. Every country has immigration restrictions and it's sad that people who are uneducated or don't speak multiple languages don't have the resources to research their best options. This is where international, or bilateral assistance programs between countries need to help each other. Hell, I live in U.S., well educated, 64 yrs old and don't know specifically what our immigration laws are!

I hate that at my work that we have a 5 foot rule; if a customer is within sight in 5 feet of you, you are to ask them if they need help with anything. Whether or not we suspect them of stealing. We don't discriminate racially, we do this with every person who walks into the store. Which is ridiculous because our store is very small and we have anywhere between 3 and 6 employees on the floor at any given time. So, inevitably, every customer is offered help many many times in their visit. I am always worried that a person of colour will think I'm profiling them, when I'm really not. I genuinely just want to know if they're finding everything they need or have any questions. If we were to racially profile based on the people who have stolen from us in the past, we'd be going after every white person who walks in the store. In my 3 years working there we have had only white people steal from us. So sick of the race issue, we're all humans. The amount of melanin in our skin should not matter.
