New Brunswick is awful. Native French population gets the jobs even if you speak French, it’s boring and tedious with lots of dumb, unambitious people who control newcomers by assassinating their character (Korean gas station owner puts water in their tanks, the economic development guy from Ontario is a pedophile etc etc). What you save on home prices, you pay with your mental health and boredom.

I moved to Mississauga, On 13 years ago and just finally got a job of 16 hours a week in Home Care.\n\nHow many applications I sent to Wendy's, Walmart and Timmy's. It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

Ok I have a question. Right now the unemployment rate is 4.1%, if 12M illegal immigrants get deported, who largely work in food processing, constructions, and healthcare support, who is going to take those jobs? We have 7M unemployed and if we deport 12M, that's 5M jobs at a minimum that will no longer be filled. You think food costs a lot now, what happens to the cost of food without them? Or the cost of building new housing, it certainly won't go down? Or the cost of taking care of granny in the old folks home, is she coming home to the family to provide round the clock care?

Why do white people care so muvh about living conditions of illegal immigrants ??in my country people sleep on floor, you just have to give them food , water , blankets that's it. You can leave them on Mexico border because it's not your job to take care of them ?and they will have money to take flight from Mexico to their home country. They keep talking about losing a huge part of the workforce with mass deportations. So Americans aren’t looking for work? I’ve worked for Amazon for 3 and a half years now. I transferred from Va back home to ny last October. In va Americans are being hired. In ny Amazon is literally hiring nothing but Haitians. We hire a hundred and twenty people every year between July and January for prime and peek. I promise you without any iota of exaggeration, every last new hire is Haitian. I know of plenty of ppl who have applied to no avail. They really need to say if you’re American don’t apply. They get tax credits for hiring them. And because of this they do little to no work because they know nothing will happen to them. So all of the work falls on us . Out of the 120 new hires this year and last year 115 are under 27. They try to alienate us , intimidate us,and are extremely rude to anyone who isn’t Haitian. These are young people who are on straight gang time. I’m a black man telling you this and I’m from the street. It took me 6 years to finally make 20 dollars an hr, they come right over making the same as me while I’m working harder to accommodate their lack of productivity and at the same time hope I don’t lose my job for standing up to their rudeness and intimidation tactics. But the media will have ppl convinced that these are hard working meek and humble ppl just trying to make a better life for them and their families. I’m 45 years old and every year of my life we have always had a block party every summers end . For the last three years none. Because my neighborhood has been inundated with migrants who don’t care to assimilate.

I've been replaced 4 times by foreigners. I worked at Amazon and the entire huge warehouse of hundreds of people was only East Indians with only me and 3 other white people. I worked at Ballard and the entire production floor could not speak English at a elementary school level and was replaced by a guy from Iran who had never been to Canada and was in the country for 1 month. All the shift mangers were from Iran and my section was only Iranians, East Indians and Chinese. I was the top production worker by far doing the work of 4 other workers proven by the actual numbers in an attempt to keep my job but still got removed of course to make way for more Iranians because it was obviously a way to bring their people here. Zero locals were in the entire production floor. I can not have the dignity to own my own home and never will be able to even though I grew up here went to collage and university and worked hard. Rent is beyond insane and they raise it the maximum legal amount every year which is huge. All my life I had to bow down to foreigners. The locals have lost their homes and can not buy another house or could never buy one and never will be able to. All are slaves to foreigners who think they are superior and treat them like garbage. The foreigners get help from the government somehow and get loans they never should be able to get because they have crooked contacts in the Chinese owned financial institutions. They then build 5 to 10 unbelievably horrible illegal suites and that is where most of the locals now have to live in. The neighbourhoods went from a very low population of Chinese and East Indians to insanely high levels such as 98 percent. There is no sense in complaining to any government body because the Chinese and East Indians have infiltrated those key positions and always side with their own kind. The legacy news/media is fully aware but are owned by foreigners and never will talk about these issues. Canada has for sure been invaded and taken over and is lost. No one is bringing it to light and worst is no one is trying to fight it. Any attempts you are labeled as a horrible racist.

Bruh. Canadians are struggling to eat and put roofs over our heads and we want to bring more people here who do not have financial means to take care of themselves nor do they have work here. As a Democrat I guess I’m more middle on this issue. We damn sure shouldn’t be giving away millions to immigrants that come here illegally and have to be placed in make shift homes and millions on keeping them in expensive hotels in New York or any hotels for that matter. The main jobs that undocumented people do are farm workers, construction, meat processing and elderly care. They do these jobs for minimum wage (sometimes for less). Are MAGA Americans ready to do these jobs for minimum wage? Whose going to pick our fruits & veggies? Process our meat? Build our homes & replace our roofs? Who's going to take care of grandma? If deportation happens, get ready to pay more for food & have severe labor & food shortages.

Good information. All international students and temporary workers should go back to their home countries. Our Canadian residents and students are suffering due to lack of jobs availability for them. International students must leave after their studies are completed. If they don’t leave then they must be deported immediately.

the main concept of any foreign govt giving permanent residency is whether you fulfil the need for them, so this is good for people who have some skills and can positively contribute but anyone who just wants to go for the sake of going there is not going to get anything , they better study and then return .. this is nothing different from UK, its very hard to get Tier 2 visa in UK unless your job is in shortage or in the occupation list but the difference is that Canada has been very lenient in the past allowing people clearing just 10 years of schooling also getting student visas, this has not happened in UK as people come to study bachelor's or master when they have completed full 12+ years of schooling in their home country.. may be it was needed then in Canada but now its not the same case..so if govt is taking this step its first in the interest of the local people including the ones who have gained citizenship with proper procedure..

It's Not enough and this was Not Fair! We came here in this country and vetted for 6 years by Immigration and all proper education requirements met. My mom worked so hard to be able to come into this Country when I was 14yrs old, there were Rules and Criteria. Now, it's all a Joke. People can come into Canada without proper oversight and Money works. As long as you have huge sums to pay, they let you in, easily, 3months you get Permanent Resident status, we worked hard for 6 years, even doesn't matter if you're a criminal from back home, they let you in, as long as you have money. No proper Vetting process! What has this Current government done to this once great country? They ruined this whole Canadian immigration dream for everyone. My family feels angry and cheated on! My experience has been different. Came at age 48 with family mostly for children future. Initial struggle followed by more than 20 years full time work in a company owned by Canadian but most of us working immigrants from different countries. Had a wonderful experience working as a team. Company grew from 5 including owner to about 30 when I retired. Most of of my contribution was from skills I obtained on the job. The flexibility I got was help to spouse and children. The three of them achieved good outcomes. Taxes are high. I never worried about that as children had professional education with no financial help. Only my steady basic facilities provided as I had steady though lower income than what I had back home in relative terms. What we get back from taxes we pay in health civic facilities education for children is great return of taxes paid. What I got was quality living. No luxuries. My purpose of coming here more than fulfilled. Happy family. Grand children now enjoying higher quality of life than what I had or my own children had. I do notice recent trends of immigrants expectations not very encouraging. I have enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere friendship and regard for each other. My colleagues and I have been of great asset to the company we worked in.

There are majorly two types of ' outsiders ' that the government takes in : students and asylum seekers. Seen purely from financial viewpoint, homing and providing for the latter group makes no sense at all. They are a permanent leakage of funds without return..\nRegarding students, there are the undergrads who pay 5X times the Canadian students and they are the shock absorbers for fee burden on Canadian students. This category is precious, especially those studying in reputed colleges. Then there's the diploma students who make studies as an excuse to get into the UberEATS, mcdo kind of Job market. Cap on them may be needed to protect Canadian interests. However the last category comes mainly from one province in India who has political clout in Canada, so it is the hardest to curb. I've lived here 6 years and can't wait to leave. Salaries are just enough to get by. I work full-time as an analyst and am looking for a minijob just to save money, which I already live quite modestly. It's easy to come across nasty unfriendly people, neighbors, service people, people in government agencies. I hate people staring in the most unfriendly manner or givng attitude for no reason other than they are nasty people. Don't get me wrong, there are nice people as well, but the bad experiences outweigh the good. Beauracracy is overbearing, personalities are underwhelming, the food scene is underwhelming, learning German is a big burden when you work a full-time job (and now I need a minijob too??). The country seems like it wants to diminish the human spirit and ambition. I definitely regret moving here. Many housing companies are over charging rent. I found out the company, Deutschewohnen, who owns my apartment was overcharging me by nearly double!! I had to go through a year long court procession to get them to lower it to the legal price which I won. And now they sent me a letter last month saying they are raising my rent, which is illegal and I have to go through ANOTHER court battle with them. Of course it is exhausting to try and find another apartment. Some people search up to a year. What a joke. And not to mention the dating scene. I've been single the entire 6 years and I'm quite an outgoing, friendly, loveable person. Dating Germans comes with own weird experiences and I refuse to give them a chance anymore, for my own mental health. If you're POC, it's not uncommon to come across strange sexualizations and general lack of understanding other's cultures. A couple years ago I was attacked by 8 men while walking home at night. I ended up in the hosopital and there was an investigation opened. The police asked me why they attacted me, which I didn't know since it was unprovoked. They just followed me for awhile, surrounded me and started beating me. The police said it was probably because I'm Asian. Meanwhile, I'm not even Asian!!! I'm Latino. ??‍♂This is the type of ignorance POC have to deal with in Germany. Also, I only have 1 German friend and all my other friends are immigrants (which I love) but this poses it's own frustrations because many people move here, then move away after a few years when they learn they can have a more fulfilling life elsewhere. So keeping long term day-to-day friends can be a challenge. The entire system is exhausting and there's not enough balance to bring joy to my life to want to stay. When I lived in NYC, an African American aquaintance had just moved there after living in Berlin for 8 years. She warned me not to move here because I will never feel I belong. I didn't listen. That was a big mistake. Germans can have Germany. I'll find my joy elsewhere. End of rant. haha
