Most Americans are deeply sorry for the way Trump is treating you and the rest of the world ?

As an American I feel shame and embarrassment. Where I'm from, you love, respect, and honor your neighbors. You treat them as you want to be treated. Canada is our ally. Mexico is our ally.

Trump over and over praises our enemies and treats allies like dirt, don't worry, China is waiting with open arms to take in all and Trump is super speeding up the process!

As an American, I am totally appalled that Donald Trump is our elected president putting himself & his selfish agenda ahead of the American people. Allowing people like Elon Musk, who is not a government employee to run amok in this country doing what he pleases when he pleases under the guise of ridding our country of wasteful spending, without any type of oversight. I am appalled at the GOP that refuses to stand up to Trump for the people they swore an oath to serve faithfully because they are so afraid of what Trump will do to them if they don't bow down and do his bidding. I served alongside Canadian military when I served in the US military. They were very tough, honorable, and outstanding professionals. I have friends and family from Canada, and they love America. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

Real Americans are not self-serving. Real Americans are for serving others and bettering others because it’s the right thing to do. Our government does not know the difference between right and wrong. Those who support our current government, also, do not understand what it’s like to be selfless versus selfish. I’m a veteran, and serving others and treating others with respect and dignity has been engrained in me and I wish everyone could have the same morality. This is a choice in which too many have ignored.

Even though we as Americans might disagree with President Trump, we have to stand firm on some things here, the way PM Trudeau came on here and reversed this tariffs on the US after all we done with this is still an attack on us, we have to think broader and wider, I am a 22 year retired Navy vet and seen how these countries treat us and we have been taken advantage of, it’s time we stand firm.
