Canada is full of racism and that’s a fact. There is not much of the difference with the States either. Only difference is that Canada’s racism comes in the form institutional and systemic racism. The states have a way bigger platform than Canada so their situations regarding racism will be covered more than Canada’s and also Canada hides behind the “it’s such a diverse country” statement to diverge from the issue of racism. Ask yourself this- Which country do you see a wider diverse representation of, concerning the people in power? In Toronto we just had our first black police chief(which was a big thing here) a few years back while in the States they’ve been having people of colour and many minorities in power. Representation of different ethnic backgrounds is an issue here but nevertheless the states still have a long way to go with racism. I love Canada so much but there is absolutely racism that this country will not bother to even acknowledge

I'd be really interested to see a woman in full face covering nakab/hijab asking for money, speaking out to strangers. It would be interesting to speak with them. It doesn't seem appropriate as a guy to do so. Full respect if that's the case. But I'd be interested in learning more about them as a people. Edit - I wouldn't find any difficulty just speaking to someone with head only covering.

Yah make it like it is rasict and not because of experiences they have had. This isn’t fair. I was out with a friends child , shopping for her( she was black and 10). I was going to buy her the items she was trying on. When I went to see if they fit I see that she had pulled of the tags. She must have learned this from her mother. Sham full what you are pedaling. I applaud Cityline for bringing this topic up in Canada!! In the US, we see overt racism every day. Oftentimes, it’s the micro aggressions happening to the people I love that breaks my heart. I’ve seen young people, full of hope, feeling that their lives matter, over time, be shattered by a constant beating of racism.

As an African American it was heartbreaking seeing Leeland going through all this especially when he went to the Super-mart bug pharmacy store or whatever it's called. It's grows from you being calm, to paranoid, then full on anxiety knowing that you are being followed or watched. Then there's an underlying feeling of anger and you keep telling yourself to relax because you haven't done any thing wrong. I've experienced this many times b4 especially when I was younger or go into a store with my younger sister who is 17, I am 27. There's solidarity in knowing someone else experiences this as well and understands how you feel, but it's sad as well because no one should experience this.

The Canadian people dont want immagrants living here. They are not welcome!!! Pei is full of immigrants. Its so sad. I feel like im living in a foreign country. Why cant the government see whats happening. The people living among them notice how awful immagrants truly are. They are rude and they are taking their religion and beliefs with them. Its scary. They have no respect. The people are tired of immigrants. We are taling a stand. If you are a immagrants. Stay away!!!!!! Not welcome and never will be. Wake up government. Muslims are as much victims of Islam as are the rest of us! It is disheartening to see muslims so blind to the teachings of Islam and from the whole come a large remnant that take Islamic beliefs to the full extent that includes practices that includes domination of other societies, other religions, promote hatred of Israel and Jews, demote and disrespect our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and they dispute and argue with endless chatter and loud voices! Let’s pray for the muslims that they will hear the voice of reason from our Saviour Jesus!

I am a Muslim and I am a moderate Muslim and treats all people of all faiths equal and with respect. Being a moderate Muslim, I find it ridiculous to see ladies wearing a full burkah. They should all be deported to Saudi Arabia where they have their freedom to live to practice whatever they want.

What that guy said in humor, gives me an idea. I was saving for a nice holiday. Perhaps no need to save at all. Just show up in Canada, being sure to have entered illegally, and instead of you spending the money, Canada will give you free full board in a hotel. Trudeau is just so damn generous. For me , in UK, I find a Muslim woman not wearing a hijab is more approachable. To see a full face is important for interaction.\nNothing justifies verbal abuse of course.

I want to see a full fledged south of the border mexican (cowboy hat, tucked in flannel shirt, big belt buckle and cowboy boots) in like London or Tokyo. Idk why but just the sight would be real funny to me.

Regarding the girl who received less while wearing the veil than when wearing nothing/ a hijab: Don't get me wrong the things some poeple said to her were horrible, but i think its just natural that someone would be more willing to donate to someone whose face is clearly visible as they could be more sympathetic towards them based on their expressions and such. After all, would you donate to someone who was wearing a hockey mask or a balaclava? (I'm not implying that these are in any way the same, but remember that the Qaran does not state that they have to wear a full veil, just some food for thought). Some may argue that this intrudes on basic human facial expressions to one another.) Not only can people feel uneasy when they see someone in a burqa, but it can also be dangerous to the very person underneath it. The burqa isolates women from others and can hide evidence of abuse or assault. It advocates segregation of muslim women in public, which is blatant discrimination within itself, whichever way you look at it!!!

If anyone wears a niqab or burqa they are not communicating openly. \nWesterners rely on seeing the full facial expression when talking to someone. When only the eyes are exposed it comes over as sinister, this person must be hiding something. \nIt is no secret that if you wanted a job in a bank in years past, you needed to ensure you did not have a beard. \nIn fact most banks around the world insist nowadays on their customers removing helmets and balaclavas if you go within their doors,, because of identification. They want to know who they are dealing with: is this person hiding something, are they a crim, are they dishonest ?

People real Islam is not a religion of peace! Read the Koran and you will see! It's true that most Muslims are peaceful,but most Muslims like Christians follow the traditions of their Mosque or Church but do not follow the full letter of the Koran or Bible. True Koran believing Muslims who follow the full letter of the word of the Koran are violent and are not tolerant of other religions. they are a threat to any civilized society! Wake up people this radical evil religion will do nothing but cause pain and suffering to any country who tolerates it! Christianity is a religion of love and peace,a religion who's member are full of a holy,righteous spirit and compassion for their fellow man. A religion that is freely given and freely received and a religion to never be forced on another human being! We as a civilized people must never bow down to evil, even if our evil government try to force us to . We must all stay true and firm to our God and our brothers in Christ no matter what the cost! So I can walk around in a full faced motorcycle helmet with just my eyes showing and be able to function in society within its laws and policies.
