Not only is his trade war with Canada, Mexico, and China breathtakingly stupid, it also raises prices for Americans, costs American factories jobs, and isolates us from our allies. And just today, Trump paused aid/arms to Ukraine. Putin has no incentive to make concessions now, knowing that Trump has cut off arms to Ukraine. Our apologies to your Canada. We are fucked! If you could put a 100% tariff on Tesla, you'd be doing us a HUGE favor.

I am an Asian American I support Canada and the EU or NATO countries to fight against the evil empire that invaded Ukraine. I believe Putin is the mastermind behind the trade war because he wants to stir up the fights to separate the allies to be weakened. Putin wanted revenge for the fall of the Soviet union. Now his tactics seemed to be working.

The Orange Julius did this — not the American people — and we are very sorry that he is not a) smarter, b) nicer, c) even occasionally truthful, and d) loyal to his oath of office. Europe has just announced an 800 billion Euro defence plan; I bet they’d be very interested in Canada’s critical minerals. Canadians will not forget this; this has damaged our relationship with the U.S. and it may never recover. We cannot forget that Americans voted this man back into power knowing who and what he is; they somehow believed that he was magically going to lower the cost of eggs, end a war and save the economy. Canadians will never trust that Americans won’t again elect someone so stupid and pathetically unfit to lead their country; we have to start cutting the trade ties now so that we will never be this vulnerable again. I do agree with Dumpty that we need to pull our weight militarily, so we need to invest in our security and we also need to align ourselves with Europe since Dumpty is clearly aligning the U.S. with Russia.

I ask: “Had the US not made these requests, would you have done the neighbourly thing and cared enough for your neighbour to have monitored what criminals in your country were up to? The problem here isn't temporary. Tariffs may or may not be. But when Canada, Mexico, and other countries build alternate trade infrastructure and strike deals that exclude America, this becomes near irreversible and will hurt America's economy well after Trumps term. And that's just trade and economy.\n\nThen there are many relationships worldwide which are already affected, and world leaders are poised to move on without America - leaving it isolated. The US is the most powerful country in the world and can survive alone, but even so, no country flourishes without international partnerships that both parties can rely on.
