It seems sad that it took an action such as the one the US government had to do, to make Canada realize that we should work together as provinces and as people. Canada knew very well that our big brother in the south has been fiscally hurting since years and had been racking up enormous government, corporate and private citizen debt. If this were to continue it would pull down every single country in the world. Perhaps if the US is becoming fiscally responsible, truly eliminate fraudulent and unnecessary spending and refocus on their local economy (just like China has been doing in the last years) the rest of the world and even Canada can finally focus on their strength and local markets. After all, don't we all miss our local stores, local artisans, vibrant neighborhoods with diverse businesses and a pride in having made in our own country? Not just Canada are holding the ground against the bullying of the Trump government, also Mexico, China and European countries are holding their grounds. The US, you are big for sure, but now you have only one friend: Putin.

One big problem Canada has, is USA. Canada is better to be in if you aren't established, poor people do not suffer as badly as those in the usa who have no money. But if you are established, living in USA is better, you pay less taxes, and you make more money on average, and you have more access to a larger market, so what people do is use Canada to become established, then leave. And because USA is just a hop skip n jump, its easier than if you were to move over seas.

Brain drain is definitely a big issue. I heard from someone that if you're a US citizen you are required to pay US taxes even if you don't live there and honestly I kind of wish Canada would do the same. If this country raised you and educated you and gave you all the opportunities you've had in your life thus far, you shouldn't get to just up and leave without paying anything back.

You should be more concerned with median income or statistics that omit the top 1% as that is the reality the vast majority are living. In 2021, Canada was top 5 in the world in median disposable income. Finally, the US’s financial services and healthcare are big contributors to the US GDP while both have their problems (financial services don’t make the lives of the general public any better and US healthcare is incredibly inefficient). So, comparing the GDP of these countries is not a fair comparison.
