As a German with a chronic illness my top no. 1 reason to not move to the US would be the same: How the heck would I pay for my medical needs without going broke? The other reasons are just as valid. The political climate is terrible with too much extremism everywhere, there's lots of bigotry and intolerance towards marginalized groups and that insanity with weapons everywhere, the secular state being undermined by religious zealots and a few other things would have me screaming all day. I'm also always baffled about how much of a multiverse the US are in the sense that everyone just lives their life in their own bubble. It's sometimes literally like every little city or county is its own state, again with lots of negative side effects like nepotism and corruption because the sheriff and county judge are cousins or such. I'm sure it would indeed depend a lot where you live and how you earn your living, but for the most part it just sounds and looks unattractive to move to the US unless you're part of the upper echelons of society and need not worry about any of these things.

I wouldn't mind leaving Canada to be honest. Even though I was born here.\n\nI have an interest in firearms (I hate the term gun), and recent events have proven that I probably won't be able to pursue my interest much longer. Nor am I welcome here in any way anymore. I'm persona-non-grata. I feel like an exile in my own birthplace.\n\nNot to mention all the other unsavory things about Canada.\n\nThat being said, I still wouldn't move to the US. Heck no. I'll take this golden turd over America.

Why the heck not get into the fact Canadians are not forced to gestate a fetus against our will? It says something essential about the values of the two countries. The erosion of women's rights, LGBTQ rights, etc, is a major factor in choosing Canada over the US.

I see beautiful spaces in the States and most of the people I've met from the States are super but the systems they have in place scare the heck out of me I have a friend that had to put a new mortgage on their home just to be able to afford to have a baby -like the literal birth, not the long term care and education of said baby ...just the hospital part ?

I have visited the US several times when I was growing up. Been to many States. Out of all the states I've been to, my favourite was Tennessee. But would I move there? Heck no. There is way to much violence for me. Plus the health care in Canada won't bankrupt you. I also don't like the fact that the US's economy is based mostly around wars. As soon as their dollar starts to tank, they are involved in another war. I think that is why most other Nations prefer Canadians over Americans.

I have faced such issues while traveling in economy and the thing is that the leg space is a lot low. The person sitting behind you might push your seat jist simply tell the air hostess about the issue. Everytime I faced such a issue I told them and never had a problem. If you can't adjust then fly in a private jet or business class if you can't afford then shut the heck up.

Uhhh can anyone say ‘invasion’? Where the living heck is the military?? Annnd give it a few months and we’ll start seeing half of them up here in Canada accessing all of our social programs ( ie: say good bye to healthcare for the rest of us who have paid into it our whole lives and may need it someday ) and probably being housed for free. I say that we line up the women and all the single men in the country can go down to the border to find women to marry. \n Latin women are amazing and a heck of a lot better than 90% of the women that are currently in the country. \n\n Women who travel to the border are in most cases abused on the way... if we just leave them at the border like that then they will likely be abused even more. \n\n This would help them as well as the men in this country. \n If/when they have kids ... it would increase the population . \n\n\n Let in the women ... but only the women who know they are women and weren't born as males.

As a non American, I cant figure out why you white Americans treat these people ( mexicans,latin americans) better than your African American brethren. What the heck is going on? In the last few days there's been news of migrants leaving Canada to come to the US, and now the opposite. I'm willing to bet this is economy related. Migrants, I suggest you just go home or whereever the nearest land is that actually fits your traditions and values. As the economy gets closer to collapse, you're going to wish you had anyways. I live in British Columbia. In a city people consider “dangerous.” I remember I had a package delivered to my door. I was at work so I couldn’t go get it. I was imagining those videos I saw on YouTube of people getting their packages stolen within 10 minutes of it sitting there. But nah, It stayed there for 6 hours and never got stolen. Heck my workplace, had a package delivered on Friday evening and it stayed there outside until Monday. I was very surprised both times. I’m not saying that I’m living in a utopia, I’ve gotten robbed before, like everyone else I have my complaints. I think what really helps Canada is the smaller population. Less people means less people to rob shit. That tap water do be nice though.
