I do not agree that these international students should stay here in Canada, they should be here to study and not for work. If they wanna be a permanent residents here, they should go back to their country and apply for a permanent resident. And if it all goes well, then they come here as a landed immigrants legally.

The student program should have never been a path to permanent residence. Every Study Permit application should have the three below terms and conditions:\n\n1. These institutions should only be allowed to charge a maximum of 15% to 25% above the fees for local students. Charging exorbitant amounts was essentially a form of robbery, exploiting international students with the false hope of permanent residency (PR), which is never guaranteed.

They should show they are entitled to be here and not break major laws of Canada. If you fail and are convinced of breaking major Canadian laws. You will be immediately deported from Canada with a lifetime ban from entry to Canada in the future. These are rules and laws used internationally by other countries, so nothing is new...

What bothers me the most is how Canada prioritizes low skill workers over high skilled. Came here 2 years ago on work permit, both wife and I are tech professionals with over 10 years of work ex in global organizations. I honestly wouldn't mind going back to India or any other country once my visa expires as I know my skills are enough to land a job anywhere (got a job in 1.5 months here). Value add to the economy must also be kept in mind while choosing your permanent residence by the government, how it works in US.

Student visa’s always been easier way to get in to any country, and yes, easier to get in Canada than any other country. Go home and apply for permanent residency like others do so through proper steps! No more student visa as the back door to get in this country. If universities can’t run their schools without fees from international students, they should shut it down. Canadian universities are a joke with poor quality programs and faculty members. They need a complete overhaul.

When any temporary permit is issued, it does not assure you permanent residiency , it clearly states that you must leave Canada by the end of your permit, unfortunately these guyz are victim of colleges and universities selling the idea that through study you have a pathway to settle permanently , but any temporary permit is issued with a condition that once permit ends you have to leave.
