I think if Trump fires more federal workers and lower taxes on American companies, everything will even out for the poor and lower middle class.\nAlso He's allowing immigrants that can pay there way into America the opportunity to do so. As he thinks so little of Canada's long friendship and a 100 some years of protecting the Americans back, I'm beginning to think we should be doing the opposite. Reduce efforts at the border and let the foreign immigration, crime and drugs flow south into the USA. It's no longer our responsibility to protect their back.

I'm usually reasonable enough to realize that while I may disagree with many policy decisions, there's usually a relatively coherent line of thought to back said actions up. The problem here is that there’s no clear logic behind using tariffs as a tool to curb fentanyl trafficking or immigration. I'm not going to speak on the issue of immigration at the Canadian border because there simply is none. Yes, there are illegals from Canada, but almost 100% of them are from overstaying visas rather than crossing the border unlawfully. So let's talk about fentanyl. \n\nMost fentanyl in the US originates from China, often in precursor form, and is then processed in Mexico before being smuggled into the states. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Canadian here. I'm gonna buy whatever my wallet can afford. If it's American made and is 5 cents cheaper, I am buying it over the Canadian product. By the way Canadians, why aren't you super upset about the 20% Carbon Tax increase that's going to hit us April 1st. We have our own issues that we need to deal with here first. A corrupt Federal government, a negative GDP, more immigrants that we can handle and the list can go on.

I'm American, Texan even. I've fought against Trump and this insanity since 2015. My wife is a trans woman who immigrated from the Philippines almost 20 years ago. I want my fellow Americans to wake up and remove Trump from more than this country but they are just too damned stupid apparently.

FEEDBACK: I've operated various businesses in Canada and all I can say is, 'never again'. The BUREAUCRACY grows in strength every year, issuing more & more regulations, stifling everything. For every new rule a bureaucrat introduces, an old rule should be retired.\n\nHOUSING: It's the Liberal Government policy to pander to immigrant voters that has put us down the wrong path. I'm amazed that so few people in, say, Vancouver who complain about the astronomical cost of rent and mortgages realize that their problem is directly caused by our WEAK policy of permitting new immigrants to move to Vancouver & Toronto , instead of the 1,000 other towns where they're desperately needed. How stupid are we, to not even understand the policy issue? \n\nMeanwhile, I actually lost my apartment block in Winnipeg because the market value dropped below the mortgage balance and the bureaucracy was killing me with their conflicting rulings. So, why did my block drop in market value? Because people were leaving Winnipeg, and Manitoba. EVERYONE went to Vancouver or Toronto. Thanks for nothing, stupid politicians.. the opposition isn't doing their job when Canadians don't know anything about this.

As someone living in Canada... I actually don't feel much of the things mentioned in the video. Sure, wages are not growing as fast as it can, but as someone who managed to purchase a home *before* the bubble started to expand, I'm living steady right now.\n\nWhat is REALLY causing a large part of the social and economic issues is actually the fact that provinces are NOT expanding new towns and cities in the millions of kilometers that needs to grow. Everyone is moving into cities, including refugees and new immigrants, which is driving up local prices and demand for everything. A few years ago, there were literally news of townships outside of the major cities offering houses and land for $50 per acre if people move to those towns and live there. \n\nCanada's biggest (heh) advantage is how much land it has. It's biggest weakness is how little comparative population it has. The worst problem is the concentration of population in like 6 keys cities throughout the entire country. If more people who complain about housing or social issues were willing to move outside of the major cities, they wouldn't have those problems.

Hi I'm from Russia and I would say that mostly people who lives in english speaking countries they usually can only tell about wealth privilegues of having particular passport, offical status of their country and that's it. for my personal opinion the motherland is something that is more than that. I didn't travel much somewhere but I've been abroad and I would say - nowhere is better than here in Russia for me. And those people who just moved there to foreign counties from Russia as example they pretend that it's much better for them in completely alien country. that's a bull shit as I guess because each people is like a spider who since it was given a birth is spreading out it's net in particular place (their parents, friends, first love, lovely places, and etc) and since they moved somewhere all this NET will be torn for a long time or forever and never restored anymore. and for my personal opinion immigration is BULL SHIT and I would do it in a completely disparate situation. And I see nothing common with english speakers in mentality, everything that you're interested in is a personal wealth and interest in everything. Russians in this way are much better.

Illegal Immigrants looking for handouts and not being productive citizens DISGUST me. If they are civil and productive members, I have some leniency so long as they become legal citizens. There is nothing wrong with immigration as long as it’s done legally and they remain law-abiding citizens. If my tax dollars go to harboring criminals, of course I’m not gonna be supportive.

We Canadians are fed up with Trudeau's immigrant invasion dropping east Indian and muslim immigrants in every city, town, village and junction in Canada. There are MILLIONS of them here and we hear talk that some of them are just stopping here before going to the US. Personally, I'm happy at what Trump did. Very happy!

We have our own housing shortage that needs to be addressed for existing Canadians who are struggling. I'm glad we are taking a pause and redifining the structure of how and who we receive into Canada. Until we sort out the housing crisis, which is in every major city, there simply aren't enough homes to help those in need and address newcomers who aren't financially self sufficient. If those immigrating to another country, they should provide their new country with their own financial means of support, or be of a profession that is in demand, the sooner they get jobs and pay into the system, the better.

He’s deporting people who are here legally and awaiting processing. Immigration process is long and expensive. Unless you’re wealthy. So imagine doing it the right way and this happens. We tried to tell people but no one listened. I’m black and I already know they are gonna harass us and ask us for our papers. And racists whites don’t care. MAGA= racists. That is how we see you. I'm all for legal immigration but I don't think the US can handle any more people at the moment. I don't know about anyone else, but it's been brutal for me personally to find a job for a couple of months just to get by until my other job is good to go for the season. I've never had to claim unemployment (I always found another job within a week or two), and I've been suffering for the past 6 months. I'm more than qualified for some of the applications I have filled out, but yet I feel like just because I'm a white woman, I get skipped over. I've applied to around 50-70 jobs and only had 2 interviews. Thankfully, I still live at home, but if i didn't, I'd be wayyy more screwed. I believe America needs to take care of it's legal citizens first, then we can worry about others.

As a trans person seeking to escape trump, what is the best course of action? I'm trying the proper route through the immigration process but with how rapidly things are declining in the states for queer people so is it better to take the asylum route or wait the process. I'm personally done with the states and have 0 desire to stay here or ever come back, however what shows that the exact thing happening here wont move it's way up north in the future?

Many countries has the same thing, I’m from Malaysia, Malaysia also deport illegal immigrants, \n\nIf illegal foreigners are not deported, then only the citizens are able to get jobs and proper salaries, rather than foreigners taking jobs bringing down wages and the citizens are affected, it’s happening in Malaysia, \n\nNothing wrong USA is deporting illegal foreigners.
