Canada is like 3 times bigger than India area wise and population of Canada is almost equivalent to any big Metropolitan city of India like Delhi. Log kam hai, space bht hai, sarkar k pas paisa bohot hai, that’s why people have little better life here. Bss yahi reason h Canada me achi life ka... They expect for someone to come to work to speak German on C1 level, I mean for a reasonable job and on the other end they're allowing all the immigrants in that don't know German at all. They want cheap labor, period. As well even if you're from some other EU country they look at you differently so I don't know how would they look at someone from outside of EU. Would avoid Germany, only as a last resort.

I am a returning German, after 36 years abroad, and the greatest impact on me is how little friendly most people are, limited sense of humor, rigid closed mindset, and so much complaining. It’s even more frustrating when it’s your own country. I don’t know if it was always like that, but then I was a teenager. Of course, there are great people but what I mean is the general air specifically when you just arrived. The low wages and high taxes of course do not help, but I don’t think that’s the full story.

I mean, you come to a country and you have to adjust and learn the language. Pretty straightforward, and most of us are doing it.\n\nBut when on the other side you have people who do not understand the effort and have no patience for it, it is a frustrating experience. It is also annoying that you know they need you here, they know they need you, but none of that is reflected in the way people coming in are treated.\n\nA lot of us also come with skills and accomplishments behind us. And then we need to play fish-out-of-water for a while, speak a language in which we know we sound incompetent and we can see someone underestimating us (because they lack the understanding of what our situation brings). And last but not least, a serious problem with patience and empathy.\n\nThese are all issues you will find in other countries too. But man, Germans are not good at dealing with it. And more and more it seems to me they do not even care (other than the few german friends I have, who always make me second guess my generalisation).

100% agree to Mr. Ozan, they are particularly mean and harsh when it comes to talking to non-europeans in English. Mr. Ozan made a good question that how do Germans talk to Italians and Frenchs? English or something not German. I am new and I am willing to learn alongside my full-time course and part time job. It's not like the government has made any conditions while granting the visa. I have met many genuine Germans who don't know english but they are kind enough to express what they want to say, but employees in some stores are so rude and deliberately say Nein when asked for help in english. Like wtf.

One think Germany could start and do is to fix the university application for international students. in theory they are super attractive with almost no tuition (ok 99% of courses are in German). But it runs on a German cycle months later than most other countries.... You can't start applying before May 15th for the next school year. that is 7 months later than the UK, Netherlands, Belgium etc, Meaning that by the time applications start in Germany, if you applied in those others countries you most likely got an offer already. In fact, my son applied also in Germany and only today got his high school diploma certified. took Uni-assist the government portal 5 weeks to do that. now he can submit that to the uni where he applied and who knows when they will make a decision. meanwhile he has other offers in equally good schools.

Being Canadian used to mean being English (British) or French. Nowadays it means nothing. Only Quebec has some semblance of a real identity. Most heritage Canadians barely know or care about being of English origin.

I know, what I am about to say isn't easy to swallow. Because I also understand how prevailing sentiments of fear are, when it's easier to blame another group for our shortcomings. Problem is we don't get to choose who comes into Canada, but we are perfectly accountable for whom we vote. Who we vote responsible in the end for policies that make or break a Country. They draft 5-10-20 years road maps for a Country's growth, the trace demographic's trend, births, jobs creations etc etc. They are responsible to understand Economics factors and how they are interwoven into Global trenches. Furthermore they are responsible to manage money budget and spending but above all control waste. I mean Canada became an Global Oil dominator second only to Saudi and we blame migrants? Sounds to me we should kick someone's teeth in, but that ain't my neighbour Cheng or Abhuoul. BTW I was born in the late 70's from Italian migrants, came back again in 95. I left a dead Canada in early 2000 and never looked back.

Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.

Some people like to dunk on landlords but they forget that landlords do this as a means to make money just like any other job. As someone who also owns land, I know the frustrations of when a tenant doesn't adhere to the rules and uses the law to their advantage. It's gross. There are other people and even families who would want to have a roof over their heads yet selfish exploiters prevent such people from having a place to call home.

After watching your video u have some point. But since 2020 Canada donated to much money to Ukraine and also getting immigrants. A Sri Lankan who always gets misidentified as Indian reading the comments here. ? I moved here with the genuine purpose of studying for my LLM, after considering several countries. I was offered a scholarship from my university (a top ranking public university) I know several of my Indian colleagues who came to study & now work in universities & firms. I know educated people who came here from SL, India & other South Asian countries who came to study with the genuine purpose of studying & now pursuing PhDs here & elsewhere. I understand how concerned the whole immigration issue is for Canadians & new commers like us. I’ve always loved to study in Canada & now that I’m here just to see all these negative sides is truly heartbreaking. I was able to secure a decent apartment & decent job (both me & my husband)& so are my friends & colleagues. I love Canada & means no harm. I’d love to use my knowledge & serve developing countries like mine one day. I kindly request anyone reading my comment, please don’t judge. There’re people who came here to study & love to contribute their knowledge & skills to the world. Thank you.

The Canadian government is at major fault here. I don’t know if you canucks are aware of the advertisements your government airs in other countries? Well they promise to give any immigrant a quick route to citizenship and employment once they arrive in your country. Unfortunately once they get there nothing is true on those advertisements. There’s even professionals with degrees from north, central and south America working construction jobs because their degrees are not accepted due to academic prerequisites not being met whatever that means.

Most Indians who have been coming here are doing so by signing up for low-value courses offered by these diploma mills and they don't have the means to sustain their lifestyle here. What they do know is that they can earn an income through a side hustle by working as uber drivers or food delivery drivers during their free time. Most Indians who have been coming here since 2019 come here with the sole aim of getting a PR visa - education is just an excuse to get the visa.

Hi Febby, stumbled upon your video and wanted to know your experience in Canada. As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. Really chicken and egg problem like you mentioned. And this issue can't readily be fixed with the way Canadian government operates. Look forward to hearing your thoughts. My brother I truly love your channel but to be honest internet is open for everyone to view and hear so as the Canadian immigration officials equally listens to you and other bloggers. Once thing is when such information is made public the officials discovers and knows it has become knowledge thereby they chooses other means. I think the best thing to tell our people is to be truthful, if you are coming for tourist, come visit and go back and then you may have build your status to return and subsequently ask for permanent residency. If you are coming to study, go to school and graduate, then you stand a better chances of integrating into the system.

What's one of the main reasons why a foreign country would invite foreign workers into their country to work?? Because there are native citizens of that particular nation that don't want to work, they are lazy.. I understand the issue about overpopulation, but on the other hand, the opportunities have always been there for the natives to take advantage of, but did they?? So the government had to come up with a system to fill those vacancies, and in some cases, another reason why natives can't get a job, is because they are not qualified.. I think if an immigrant should be there with the aim to create a better life, I'm sure it can be achieved with hardwork and sacrifices, because a lot of us want to live above our means/ budget, spending more than we earn, instead of saving towards accomplishing a specific goal.. And i think a lot of people go with this false belief that that particular country is paradise, so they think as they land, their lives would be changed instantly, not knowing that they have to work very hard and make sacrifices to achieve their goals, and that's the main issue, they go without having any aims or goals, they go with the wrong mindset and attitude, and the list goes on.. And these students that are protesting, they should be trying to make a difference in the country to demonstrate to the government and the natives there that they are worthy to be a part of the nation, because they are not taking from it, but rather adding more values to it.. Honestly, the cost of living is high everywhere.. There is no government of any nation that really cares for the people.. I live in Jamaica, and if you don't have links, survival in this country is almost impossible, and if you should get a job, if you don't discipline yourself to live within your means/ budget, you will only find yourself in debts.. Each nation's economy will get worse.. That's why our only hope is the Lord Jesus Christ.. I had been living in Canada for the past 25 years. I left the country for this reason. Canada is kind and welcoming, but people often mistake its kindness and politeness for stupidity and foolishness. It’s not just Indians, but people from many cultures who immigrate to Canada through easy means and tend to have poor ethics, attitude, manners, and lack professionalism.\n\nI miss the old Canada, as of now the country is inhabitable as it’s an asylum for fraudsters, cheaters, welfare check collectors etc. it’s really unbearable to hear peoples stories and how they got away. \n\nThe most painful part of it all is. I am against irregular immigration due to the economic consequences. But the funny thing about this video is that the whole world knows that Canada was a vast land with the north American natives being the original inhabitants. That's the Canadian identity. It was colonized and taken over by immigrants centuries back. Just because the former immigrants built conveniences at the cost of the exploitation of natural resources and populated the land does not mean that the history will change. The native Americans aside, all the Americans are also immigrants. \nThe majority is against irregular immigration. Yes, it is not sustainable for the society. But the immigration and colonization centuries back was not just irregular but also inhuman. The world will never forget the history.

I wanted so badly to become a Canadian but sadly, after living in Vancouver for 1.5 years, it became apparent that staying in BC would mean never being able to afford to start a business (let alone buy a house) and that making friends was not something locals were interested in doing. I discovered that Canadians were exceedingly polite and helpful to others in the community, but not friendly. The difference is someone being kind enough to return a lost wallet (with the money/cards still in it!! WOW) or phone but won't invite you to their homes, join friend groups, or social circles. Side note.. I also learned that I prefer more overt racism than the polite version experienced in Canada. At least you know where you stand with someone..

Stop picking on international students. The legitimate ones pay very high tuitions which is Canada’s greatest source of revenue for those of you who don't know. Also if they do master's programs then get high paying jobs that means they pay higher taxes than many Canadian born do. So legitimate international students contribute greatly to Canada’s economy stop acting as though they came here for free.

Its a simple thing. Folks are trying to leave for a better life, they then got to know about Canada giving 3years postgraduate work permit to international students who studied for two years and, there are permanent residence programs you qualify and can apply for after getting one year Canadian work experience. This is what encouraged many international students to head in this direction. Unfortunately, half of about 800,000 international students admitted to Canada came from India (if i'm not mistaken), many of them had to borrow the money to pay fees or their family sold their ancestral land or used it borrow money with the hope that when their child who they sponsored with the money is done, he/she will be the family's hope to not only pay back, but help them relocate too. However, the picture is not looking like it anymore as the demand for jobs surged and many are not able to get jobs or can't find the kind of jobs that can make them get PR and, their current work permit is about to expire, which means they may be faced with going back home with nothing so, they are pulling every string they can to stay back because, returning will mean they are a failure and can even cause their family a lot of emotional damage. Infact, i have heard of some of them who committed suicide as they are not meeting up and are not ready to go and face the shame back home. So, what you are seeing is the definition of desperation!

I agree, the high prices of daily spendings on food and groceries is due to lack of competition.\n\nI realised this even in Europe ,particularly France. There is absolutely no logic behind those high prices of daily items in France when people can easily move to warmer climates, live in world class modern cities like Singapore or some city in China or those in South East Asia and spend much, much less on those without compromising on real quality.\n\nWhat i mean by real quality is maintenance of quality which ensures proper sampling and testing of those items are conducted regularly and proper rules are followed in production and business and consumers are protected from health hazards and sabotage. I think most of the rest are just unnecessary decorations in name of maintenance of quality. That is wrong on so many fronts , biggest is on business ethics and it hammers on any kind of Christian value which i know of.\n\nOligarchy or monopoly is a major problem i feel. Compared to france , Germany appears much more on right track from outside though I do not have personal experience.
