The story of the Russian guy going back to Russia to avoid taxes didn't age well. I remember watching this video in 2021 and thinking that the higher taxes are worth it because you are essentially buying safety. It doesn't matter if the income tax of your home country is lower if the local currency keeps devaluating, if you can't buy what you want because importing is hard and expensive or if your country is simple just not a safe place to live. Now with the war and the sanctions, your Russian friend must be having a really hard time; borders closed, the ruble is nearly worthless and he's probably trying to flee the country to avoid being drafted, leaving any real estate behind.

Hi ladies. These are exactly the same situation here in the UK. I have been living in London since 1986 and surviving over here especially for those just arriving can be so frustrating. I often wonder why so many of our people are still struggling to come and live in these countries. I know you speak about the USA being better however I have a numbers of family and friends living in America and they are complaining about how hard you have to work in order to make ends meet. The answer to that could be the fact that many immigrants especially from Africa don't feel safe in their own home countries and bad leaders who continually fail to provide any opportunities for their youths and citizens. Thanks for sharing this vital information as many people think these western countries are paradise until they arrive and face the bare realities.

Im Asian and I love Vancouver! The weather is beautiful and mild! I enjoy the rainy days cozying up with nice jazz music on gorgeous cafes and restaurants Vancouver has. It is expensive yes, however if your Asian its not, you just havent explored the Asian market place, cheap housing are also available in the outskirt cities and the best part of it is you are near the beaches and outdoor recreation and fun! Taxes are high yep thats true however with three different surgeries my family had from Apendicitis, to Gall bladder stone removal and stent angioplasty that could have cost us millions but got it for free, also the Free education, Child support, CERB, etc, taxes doesnt seem to matter anymore. British Columbia's mountain ranges, ski resort, hot springs, also Albertas Banf, Jasper, and Canmore for me are truly majestic safe and beautiful! Ive been all around South east Asia Europe and even the middle east however the welcoming nature and culture of Canadians and the power of a canadian Passport for me trumps all other cities in other countries. If you want to learn extreme news go to Asia like, China, North Korea, and the Philippines, also the USA the most extreme of them all! Rules are indeed frustrating but Canadian rules are nothing compared to Singapore, if you want freedom try India, try to walk in sexy clothing on the streets. In the Philippines everybody drives drunk specially on Friday nights. The Canadian mindset of a Multi cultural communinty and the welcoming athmosphere of their thinking for me is the reason why Canada is truly the best place to live.

The whole American experiment was for immigrants to assimilate in the American culture, but as mentioned that has started to get lost, because now you have many neighbors that don’t speak English. \nI don’t think what he is describing in this video about the countries where he is coming from are that efficient, where people stay outside all day and talk all day and not actually doing any work, but just talk, talk, talk. I come from Eastern Europe and that was what my parents and grandparents did everyday, a lot of youth now just want to be left alone and do their business and have their circle of close friends to be productive with their time.\nI would say for the American people, immediate family is what is strong.

My friend, it depends on what you want out of your time in US. If you want outdoor life, there is plenty of it here, you just have to know what to do and where to go. If you have been indoors for 10 days and only gone out twice, then that tells a lot about your own self, not being an outdoor person. There are parks, lakes, amusements, beaches. There are facilities for hiking, walking, cycling, etc. I really think that you have not been exposed or you have not explored what is available here for outdoor fun. In the western world you can take your family out camping in the forest with the assurance that you will come back home safely. You can take your boat down to the lake for a day of fun with no problem. If you lived in most parts of Africa, and bought a boat, and started going to the river or lakes in the weekend, then the police commissioner, or military person who lives close to you will fabricate a reason to intimidate you and confiscate it. What I mean is in Africa, you run the risk of becoming a target once people see that you are an ordinary citizens who is doing well. Here, not like that.\n\nJust be happy that you are here and make the most of it. While you were in Africa, you dreamt about coming to America, now that you are here, all you want is to recreate Africa here. If Africa was good enough, no African will want to be here.

I have to disagree with all the comments. We lived in Texas for about 3 years. It was horrible. Jobs were scarce and its dangerous. Every night we had to watch our backs. Crime is incredibly high. We didn't feel safe. And the health care. Oh boy it's bad. If you don't have good coverage your not getting health treatment. We never had the funds to see a doctor because it was just too damn expensive. We moved to Toronto. Couldn't be happier. We don't have to worry about the crime so we feel safe. Sure the health care is slow that's true but at least it's free we don't have to pay a dime to see a doctor. And plus. WEED IS LEGAL. I can smoke all the weed I want here without facing any questioning by the authorities. So I think it's not fair for you guys to talk bad about this great country.

As a half century Canadian I have this piece of advice to all who want to come live here, in Canada, you MUST work, then you MUST contribute at least 30% of your salary to all Canadian benefits including a pension plan, healthcare, education, and low income help is also available. Then you get old and your Canadian kids think of which old folks home they will put you in, if you're lucky you have a good and safe life from war, gun violence, a fair election system, and open arms to ANY human that wants to become Canadian, and that's about it.\nSo if you're in for a free ride, or a easy living off way of life, forget Canada.\nThe beaver is our emblem, hard working, never quit, perseverance and determination.\nCanadians are known around the world for one thing, ? we are kind and forgiving.\nStay safe, and sorry you didn't like Canada, can't be perfect.✌️??✌??

What was the point of this…\nBOOK?\n\nMy favourite provinces (not ranking) are Ontario, Alberta, BC, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. \n\nOntario for the history, the world records, *(longest street on earth at least at one point, tallest tower in North America, Toronto most multicultural city, etc.)* and the terrain/coolness of Ontario- the big cities, surprisingly safe, the good weather some places, the icy terrain near Hudson Bay, and pretty nice forests.\n\nAlberta for the coolness aswell, the big cities Calgary and Edmonton are pretty great, and the mountains are awesome, the oil is useful, the lakes are great- and yeah the great, safe place to live overall.\n\nBC for the amazing mountains too, the islands, Vancouver is SO amazing just seeing a picture of it, its unique that a big city is spread across so many islands, and the pacific- \n? oh I do like to be beside the sea side ? \nAnd BC has great forests like Ontario. Just- take in mind that it’s the only province with grizzly bears. Great video, I'm glad you are willing to take off the rosy glasses to talk about Canadian reality. I'm a Canadian born myself and everything that was mentioned in the video is accurate in term of the struggles immigrants face. Canada is a very quiet, safe country and crime rate as well as violence in general is low. But Canada can still be as harsh as its climate so don't be fools, Canada is not Disneyland and it's not for everybody. Cities like Vancouver and Toronto are the most expensive cities in North America (Canada + USA) even more expensive than Los Angeles and Montreal is as expensive as New York. Therefore think twice, prepare yourself and do your research before applying. Using John F. Kennedy's famous quote I might add to conclude: \nDon't ask what CANADA can do for you but what YOU can do for Canada.

I don't think anybody that comes from South America thinks that this will be easy, the simple step of moving out of your culture and family is hard, is just a peace of mind that your family will be safe, the hard work is always there, we always knew that, our entire life is around that base, nothing is free and nothing is given to you, we have to earn it. always.

Honestly, what did he think. It is not easy when you have no education to come and get accepted. Plus her chose Alberta when there was way better choices. For example, Montreal and Toronto are better to immigrants. There is reason why is difficult also. If Canada was to accept everybody,it may not be as safe as it is now. Canada does not welcome everyone. I don't think they should be uncomfortable with those results. Most people lean toward what they are surrounded by...and depending on where black people are located, they are surrounded by white people in person and/or in media. Our concepts of safe, pleasant, and beauty are manipulated the same as everyone else where we are. That's why you get little white girls who prefer white dolls...and you get little black girls who prefer white dolls... I'm not surprised that the black men had no preference. I also wouldn't be surprised if they had preferred Europeans.

Canadians will have to pay to help house these folks during what will likely be prolonged hotel stays (not just days or a few weeks, but possibly months), it may be better to just help them by paying for a one-way plane ticket back to their original point of origin (or to the nearest safe country to it). Of course it is ideal to help those in need, but we have to think of the many people here who are already in need amongst us. Overall, time to secure our borders ????!

Getting into Canada for immigrants isn’t as easy as people in the US may think.\nLots of people get turned away., a person has to healthy, and want to work, but refugees get a chance.\nsome slip through the cracks too, they get in, then go to work in the underground economy. \nThe immigrants that I’ve known know have to work very hard at staying.\nThey take the shit jobs nobody wants. \nBut they do it to get a chance at a new life. glad this episode was made... so that those who think they can just come to canada like some sort of dreamland safe haven would think twice. Canada is nice, but not dumb... tax payers work hard and pay a ton of taxes for the social programs and assistance... why should people just sneak in and enjoy all the free benefits? I think this whole thing stinks...if you do not want to accept a countries values and ways, don't show up...we do not want this crap in Canada...bottom line, I do not feel safe any longer in Canada for my children or grandchildren...send them back!
