According to the National World War II Museum, between 250,000 and 500,000 Mexicans served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II and comprised 2.3% to 4.7% of the Army. The exact number, however, is unknown as Hispanics were then classified as whites. Generally, Mexican World War II servicemen were integrated into regular military units. However, many Mexican War veterans were discriminated against and even denied medical services by the US Department of Veterans Affairs when they arrived home.[19] In 1948, the war veteran Dr Hector P. Garcia founded the American GI Forum (AGIF) to address the concerns of Mexican veterans who were being discriminated. The AGIF's first campaign was on the behalf of Felix Longoria, a Mexican private who was killed in the Philippines in the line of duty. Upon the return of his body to his hometown of Three Rivers, Texas, he was denied funeral services because he was Mexican.

My observation of Canada is that the people are generally friendlier, the streets are generally cleaner, the food is generally healthier, the atmosphere is generally more chill, and the people are generally more intelligent. America has turned stupid because of social media pushing MAGA. We are now run by oligarchs who are trying to kill our democracy, and they are backed by a bunch of boneheaded Christian theocrats who are banning books and banning words and banning our free press. If you are INTELLIGENT, you would be better off in Canada.

We are planning to move to Canada with a work permit through our company in India. Is it safe to move that way? Is it only bad for students or Indians in general?

I'm a Canadian Syrian, and I have nothing against Indians—in fact, they've helped me a lot in many ways. I just want to share a friendly piece of advice, and I don’t mean to sound racist or anything. It's just something to be aware of.\n\nIn downtown, it's common to see large gatherings where people are dancing, playing loud music, and sometimes drifting cars. There's also a tendency for loud phone conversations on public transport, which can be seen as disruptive since people here are generally more sensitive to noise in public spaces.\n\nThat being said, I have no hate at all—one of my best friends is Indian, and I really appreciate how they always support me without expecting anything in return. Just wanted to share this as an observation. Thanks!

I think people missed the point TOTALLY. The Estrogen medication, etc. is an added costs. \nDiabetics are struck off the military for this very reason - only SMALL exceptions are made if the condition is minuscule.\n\nAlso the combat situations are very demanding. What happens if there is a war? FOOD and LIFE SAVING MEDICINE has a hard time getting to our troops … and now you want to PRIORITIZE shipping ESTROGEN to the front lines when you have a hard enough time getting food and life saving medication to the front lines? \n\nWell then … that now opens the door for diabetics and ANYONE ELSE with an illness that requires medication to DEMAND to be let into the military. \n\nAnd generally Trans people make up only 0.05% of the US population so I call \nBull that thousands of key positions will go I filled for decades. (What is this commander smoking)?\n\nAnd if you have an Identity trauma that forced you to change your sex … what are you going to do behind enemy lines when your Estrogen can’t get through and you begin to revert back to your biology? \n\nHorrible thing to say, but women have been raised and live with the threat of rape and have learned to become resilient over DECADES of being and living as a woman. What are you going to do if you are a Trans woman and get raped in the military for the first time? (Women have a certain resilience in this area that a man just does not have and it comes from living life as a woman - from birth).\n\nEven in peace time, transport problems do happen in remote areas … what happens when you run out of Estrogen and your next supply is 10 months away due to another outbreak of COVID and food, life saving medicine and COVID supplies are prioritized over your Estrogen? I know what will happen … you will whine, stomp your feet and cry like a baby that a critically ill soldier - in death’s door - is getting life saving medication over your Estrogen.\n\nMeanwhile when tampons and maxipads are late female soldiers just do what women have done for centuries … they just suck it up and keep on going.\n\nDemanding Male Privilege as a Trans Woman is pretty hypocritical.

I do think India is gaining every way. And developing fast. India’s education system is. Nothing to sneezed at. Generally all Indian and Asian families who have come to Canada are always the top students in schools . But whenever there are economic problems, they blame it on immigrants instead of acknowledging their shortcomings. The politicians are quick to use the race factor to win elections just like in India or elsewhere. \nPrime Minister Trudeau and his liberal party are immigrant friendly yet India found fault with him because he did his job to protect Canadian Citizens. It will be worse if Conservative Govt. Wins.

There surely can't be that many of them that it would make a void that would take decades to fill. \nI do not believe that for a second. It is way less than 1%, the only way the US military of 2,860,000 people would fail if the handful of these people left would be if all the commanders and generals were trans. There is absolutist no way this is the case. \n\nMore lies broadcast over cnn

The problem is throughout the Anglo World, USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand, we are allowing millions of immigrants from the third world, when in fact if AI is going to take 70/80pct of jobs in the future we do not need immigrants from the third world at all. The fewer people we have, the more wealthy we are. The other problem is allowing immigrants from non-compatible cultures of people who do not share our values, culture, religion, or way of life, they generally live in their own areas, speak their own language, and do not/cannot integrate into society, most consider themselves as Indian, not Canadian because like for instance in the UK where we have similar or worse problems, they can never be English, or Scottish, or Welsh or Northern Irish. We are not and never have been nations of ''communities'', we are Canadian, American British, and Australian, but we are all connected in our Judeo-Christian roots, values, culture, and way of life, the vast majority of these third-world immigrants can never be part of what we are. That causes resentment, even jealousy, and one day it will end badly

Canada and Mexico need to find other trade partners and have stronger relationships with other countries and start trading with each other stop relying on America for everything just because they are closer start trading with Denmark . Canada in general get along better with other countries better then America America will end up suffering not Canada . When you start treating your trading partners bad it only affects America in the end ….. Canada will find other countries. We are not hated around the world …. They want to pick a fight with Canada then stop being so nice ?. As a Canadian it’s too stop relying on America for everything we have our own natural resources and trump wants them . Cut him out 100%. Let America be it’s on island time to start trading with other countries. Americans will end up paying MORE FOR ITS PICK UP TRUCK the jokes on them . Stop selling gas to the USA on a discount make them pay higher prices.

The Emergency Measures Act should be proclaimed -- The preamble to the Act -- 1) Sets out the general obligations of the government with respect to the safety of individuals, the protection of the values of the body politic and the preservation of the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the country; 2) Points out that the fulfilment of these obligations may be seriously compromised when a national emergency temporarily jeopardizes the prosperity of the country as a whole or exceeds the capacity or powers of the provinces to intervene;

When I've gone into Emergency here in Canada, you first check in and then wait for about 10 minutes to go through triage. They ask you why you've come and go over your symptoms. Then you go back and wait again. I've gone in for pneumonia at least twice. Both times I was sent for a quick check of my heart (because one of my symptoms was chest pain). When that came out fine, I was sent back to wait more. After about 20-30- minutes I was called to come into a more interior waiting area. There I just sat and dozed for several hours. Once I was in and out in 3 hours, which was really fast! Generally I count on a minimum of 5-6 hours from entry to exit. But I haven't gone in with life threatening problems. One was an injured knee. I just know that if I have to wait a long time, then I'm probably ok! If I got in too quickly, I'd worry! But there was no charge except to rent crutches one time and for the antibiotics I needed to go and get at the pharmacy. \nMy brother's first child was born a bit early but was very tiny. He had to stay in the hospital for about a month. He was also born by emergency C-section. At the end of all this, my brother said that the biggest expense was their parking bill for visiting so often. That would probably have been about $15 per day.

The best thing for General Motors to do is move their whole operation into Canada. We have trade agreements with the EU and Asia Pacific. They can only benefit from our stance and suffer from the US stance.

Those ARE NOT MEXICANS!!! Just to be clear!! So don’t generalize when talking about immigrants!!!
|
| 2025-02-01 | 1 |
Canada and Mexico need to respond with force, not just proportionately. Trump is a bully and bullies only respond to other bullies. Both countries should shut down Ford and General Motors factories which supply components to their US factories, as a start. When all the US CEO's start screaming at trump, he might listen.

Even if there are a fair few efficient trans people with their head in their job. There are still going to be an inordinate amount of issues with these people, especially medically if they are going through transitioning whilst serving. In general they are going to be more of a logistical headache compared to bog standard boring normal people.

Why do those of us on the political left keep allowing those on the political right to dictate the terms of public conversations, even when we have the facts on our side? It is estimated that 1.7% of the world population is biologically intersex. That's roughly the same as the percentage of the world population that is naturally redheaded. Trump's executive order states that the US government only recognizes two biological sexes. This means that as far as the US government is concerned, biologically intersex people don't exist. This is analogous to having an executive order saying redheads do not exist. It's nonsense. So, why aren't biologists from all over the country pointing this out? The percentage of the world population that identifies as transgender is at most 0.6%. So why are we talking about transgender people when there is a larger group of people that Trump's executive order discriminates against? Here's why: because folks on the left insist on allowing those on the right to set the terms of almost every debate we have in this country and folks on the right are happy to ignore intersex people (whose existence conclusively establish that their views are false) and those of us on the left stupidly follow their example in doing so. If we are serious about protecting trans people, we need to be smart about this. Let us reframe the public debate to focus on intersex people. This will make exposing the lunacy of Trump's executive order much easier when engaging a general public that is too ignorant, lazy, and indifferent to educate themselves about trans people. So, let's help out the lazy ignorant masses by adopting a simpler (and more science-based) approach to the debate over whether there are two biological sexes by making the simple, scientifically sound observation that biological sex is bimodal, not a binary. And not amount of executive orders can ever change that fact.

Could Donald Trump be following in the failed foot steps of Bibi Nutanyahoo of Israel or Adolf Hitler wirh his immigration/ war policy ? \nNo body is sure but do not self-deport from the United States because of fear.\nNevertheless, it appears that President Donald Trump has to start a war to protect himself from serving jail time or paying a multi-million dollar fine for his crimes. Therefore, upon taking charge of the United States government, on January 20, 2025,, he will try to:\n1.Replace United States generals in the military that he can not totally trust due to their allegiance to the Constitution or other laws.\n2, Remove a significant number of undocumented migrants and try to secure the Mexican border against threats to his Administration.\n3. Order the United States military, in the Summer of 2025, to take control of four Mexican provinces next to the state of Texas: Nuevo Leon,Tamaulipas , Coahuila and Sonora.\n\n4. Order the United States military to attack Iran and China

Donald Trump acts like a little Hitler. Go ahead Donald You just goes for those tariffs on everybody and see our exports drop like a rock seriously sunny and the price of everything in the stores quadrupling. I actually hope so I actually hope eggs go to $30 for 12 eggs I hope tomatoes are 15 bucks of tomato and avocados or $30 an avocado and a t-bone steak is 100 because American people just we have it too good in this country for so long now we get a president that's acting like a dictator and violating law after law in the first week he tried to get rid of the inspector generals The ID inspector general and they just told Donald well we're not going to quit You can't make us quit You're vitally in the law Mr Trump we're showing up to work Monday. I hope mos The people in the garment to tell Donald to shove it up his backside that were coming into work and only have allegiance to the Constitution not a want to be Hitler or dictator or king we only pledge our allegiance to the Constitution and since you don't you didn't put your hand on the Bible I don't see you as president Donald what your left hand can't put your hand on the Bible and swear it oath to the Constitution is it that hard or are you swearing at nose to Vladimir Putin I bet that's what you're doing I mean you act like you you're butt off by some big billionaire Elon the ketamine snorter

Good job CNN in contributing to the missinformation by ommiting the reason they rejected the planes, it's not that they aren't and won't be accepting their people. that's illegal under general international law, Colombia is rejecting the inhumane conditions in which america has decided to send them that's why they even offer their own planes to do it the right respectful and diplomatic way.

Lived in Canada for almost 40 years. Worked in USA for 5 years 25 years ago. I did make a lot more money in USA then, luckily, I was in my 20s and almost never seen a doctor in my 5 years in the USA. \nThank God I didn't get into any accident while there. \n\nIn general, I observed many people in the USA are not good neighbors. Simple observation, ex you drive and merge into a lane in a busy SF Bay Highway you need to fight hard to get into a lane. In BC, Canada, merging lanes is very orderly, each vehicle takes turn merging into a lane one entering from one lane and then another vehicle from another lane with respect and consideration. \nIn the USA, I think it is this brutal mentality translates into policy in health care and education, you are not responsible to help your community in any way and take while you can for yourself.

If the government's worried about maintaining the same service standard maybe they should stop letting 500K people in every year. IMO, the border should be CLOSED until Canada gets a handle on the shortage of affordable housing and the pricing of housing in general comes back down to reality. Immigrants are causing rents and house prices to skyrocket because the demand is so high and the supply is so low.

Visa rejection rate has always been high, the interview process is highly arbitrary. There is no logic to the rejection, it's dependent on on perception of the person interviewing and therefore can be highly biased. It's not right to assume and generalize that Indians are a nation of people where most have bad behaviour - this thought process is itself wrong. As an individual do any of us think that we travel just to indulge in reckless behavior? That is never a first thought - let's not generalize and have a better opinion of fellow citizens. We will be respected by outsiders if we first have respect and a positive opinion as regards each other.
|
| 2025-01-19 | 0 |
These reasons may be applicable for few. But in general even if the visa applicant is educated and valid reason to travel, the visa gets rejected and no valid reason is given. \n\nEducation and civic sense issues are there, but not everyone is from that class, so cannot generalise. \n\nWe as Indians must learn to talk well about ourselves.
|

Why are Indians are fleeing India? India has unfortunately has become a shithole. It is poor, dirty and backwards.\nPoliticians are generally illiterate, corrupted, incompetent and religious fanatics,Half of them have criminal records.\nIf your country wants to progress, get rid of religious fanatism, horrendous caste system and persecution of minorities.\nWake up\nStop being deluded\nHinduphobia spreading in USA\nAt this rate India is going to become a pariah state.

I don’t know about rest of the world but in the US alone, 700,000 Indians entered the country either illegally or overstayed their US visa just last year alone. In Canada, some Indian international students were discovered to have forged their education documents and now have been deported. Temporary workers are demanding permanent residency after work visa extensions have been cancelled due to housing shortages & increasing unemployment rate. \n\nIndian people in general are good workers but these protest aren’t helping and demanding they be allowed to stay while their documents are forged is upsetting Canadians. It unfortunately grouping everyone together.

FLAWED ANALYSIS:.. .@3:47 flawed thinking that u can use economic leverage ... US is jacking import tarrifs ... ur rupee is falling as u have seen is cuz of that ... cuz US is going to start making and growing in house (2) india's general habit of bad mouthing around has fallen it on itself like karma ... west has realized that this particular nation is always found spewing twisted lies... all the time... (3) west has realized india does NOT have talent .. it never had talent ... west was just giving u chance cuz of non-Muslim IT region ... Pak has JF17 avionics the toughest part done inhouse and many other projects where ur talent is not just only sinking own submarines, helicopters, drones but other nations' too ... again u NEVER were talented u were given chance just cuz western rhetoric with China, Pak constituting the IT power hub ... (4) Bangladesh has also freed itself from ur poisonous propaganda .. (u lie... before 1971 it was korean war had most POWs taken after WW2 ... and its not big deal all such wars freed or traded with one thing or other)..

| 2025-01-16 | 0 |
The rejection rate is increasing as we Indian are going out at a pace which is greater than any of the given country especially if we compare ourselves with China. Second is the civic sense, we have little to no civic sense when we cant keep our own country clean. Third is the general sentiment in the host country, as we are highly skilled and take most of jobs, western people with their inferiority complex cant handle it hence ranking India in the 85th Position.

I love India and Indians in general. Let's be honest here madam Palki's patriotism has blinded her of the reality.\nShe must first look at what is making these countries make such or arrive at decisions.
|
| 2025-01-16 | 0 |
The passport ranking is because of how Indians behave in general. If I was a nation I would make sure I don't let too many Indians in. And I would also make sure that the process is difficult enough to dehumanize them as they try to get to my country. \n\nAs an Indian I am happy that this is happening. At least now we will all work towards building this nation up to serve all our needs instead of fighting with others to let them into their house.

@3:30: Burkino Faso, Kosovo and Cuba have tiny populations. Even if their entire population migrated, the locals in the country receiving them would hardly notice any difference. Not so with India and its 1.5 billion population, many of whom want to migrate only because the neighbour's/aunt's/uncle's son also went abroad. Announce a liberal visa regime for Indians one day, and within a year, your country would start looking like Chandigarh or Ahmedabad. While most countries are ok with some diversity, no one wants to be overrun by foreigners, even if the foreigners in question are Indians who are generally law abiding and hard working. And then there are the 'smarter ' types who fake documents and produce bogus certificates to get visas and even pay human smugglers to take them abroad if their visas are rejected. It's for all these reasons why India's passport is ranked at 85. The only reason why India doesn't fall even further is because there are bigger basket cases like India's 'friendly' neighbors who are sitting tight below.\nIf India wants equitable treatment, it should first make itself the best place in the world for an Indian to live and work in. The more you rely on the others for visas, the more likely they are to refuse you.
