As someone who has been leaning conservative this election I fully support this decision. This not about policy and social differences. This is about standing up to a much more powerful nation that is headed by a madman. This is an act of war. We need Poilievre to stand up on behalf of the conservative party and declare their support on this matter. The only way we mitigate the blow during this economic crisis is through a unified Canada.

Here's my issue with Trudeau ...you now placed your country in a position where this becomes a game of tariff chicken. This won't end well for Canada no matter what tariffs you try to envoke to counter Trump. The U.S. aren't dependent on Canada. So, what is your real endgame here matching the tariffs? How refreshing to listen to an intelligent leader! i only take issue with him calling Trump a smart guy. Trump will never do anything but ridicule and insult Trudeau and Canada no matter what concessions Canada makes. The great thing is that Trump never had any kind of plan except to tariff the hell out of our former allies. Canada is very systematic about their tariffs against US. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Yet many of you still believed the better choice was a psychopath. This election was important. We failed as a country by putting this man in office. No matter what party you align with, we failed. To my mind, Trump would have started the trade war with Canada no matter what measures Canada undertakes. My guess is the underlying motive behind the whole theatre is to somehow pressurize Canada into complete submission. Remember his comments about Canada should become the 51st state? I am very glad our prime minister has stepped up and pushed back hard with what the orange predator down south and his puppet master, Putin, have forced on us. I have no doubt that this is going to be hard economically for us, but is a necessary step. Together, as a sovereign nation, we can weather this \n storm.
