It seems that if Adlof Trump was even 1/10th as smart as the President of Mexico he would actually have a brain. Last time Adlof Trump put tariffs on Canadian lumber the price of OSB sheathing went from 9 bucks a sheet to 56 bucks a sheet. That really taught Canada a lesson as we paid thousands more for each home that was built after that.

It worked last time, which is a big part of why we voted for Trump. Although, all of the CNN parrots here in the comments blame Trump for the inflation for 1/2 of Biden's Presidency. ??‍♀️

It's called initial posturing. Mexico's done it before but they caved in big time and gave Trump what he wanted. The last thing Mexico wants is 25% tariffs on the goods they sell to the US.

Of course, prices will go up, but that's not the main issue here. Besides, liberals are the last group who should be complaining about rising costs! The real question is who will suffer the most. President Trump has done this before—if you recall, he did it last time, and within 30 days, Mexico secured the border. She's playing politics right now, as expected, but I guarantee she'll eventually back down. The price increases you keep mentioning will impact their economy far more than ours, and she knows this. It's a negotiation tactic, and in the end, Trump will secure the border. She can't just give in or she'll appear weak. She has to play the political game, but I can guarantee they've already had discussions and are working on a deal. If you believe politicians are always transparent, you're being naive. They say one thing to the public while doing something completely different behind closed doors.

People don't understand, when we buy their goods it grew their economy because our currency is higher then the rest of the world, if they want to buy from us they spend millions on it that is why they trade with Chinese in buying. Currently, they spend their money on cheap fake good that lasted only for a mouth or weeks from China. \nShe thinks she can grew our economy with their little money. There are about 2 million estimated Americans living in Mexico currently. They may be forced out too in response. President Sheinbaum just met with China's president last week as well. not to mention China's in-roads and developing relations with so many central and south American countries. Not to mention Brazil is the B in BRICS which is now roughly 1/2 the world's population and produce more GDP than the G7 for the first time ever. God help us is Saudi joins them. That is where most of oil prices are determined also since our refineries are not setup to refine domestically produced oil (it is the wrong type) and it would take decades and billions to convert. Not to mention costly and owned by multi-national corporations. And forcing them do so amounts to semi state-control and is a communist ideal. They are capitalist institutions and are only beholden to shareholders. And those shareholders are not voting to take a loss.

I live in Canada for last 48 years, and it’s a wonderful place, but problems started when liberal government started giving “immigrants” free money, that was burdened on the system.. and Chinese were buying houses in Vancouver and left them empty.. we don’t have corporations, bribery but values of time is very important… yes we do have some problems with economic issues… hopefully will get sorted out when new government will come next year.. not with EVM

Try and be a good person.....period.\nCanada is a huge country with many variables in taxes, climate and culture. In southern Ontario I shovel the driveway about 4 times a winter. Winter is mild now compared to the 60's. \nI try and aviod processed foods that are taxed as opposed to most groceries that are not taxed. \nHealth Care has gone downhill in the last 25 years. \nBut, no one goes broke paying hospital bills. Fortunately health care where I live is very good. No wate times or problems. But, it would be great if nurses and doctors came to Canada!!!

The numbers in the last few years also overinflated due to migrants recrossing multiples times after deportation. More crossing does not always mean more migrants...

Relax. He only built 49 miles of new wall,. Mexico did not pay for it. And even the pointless coat of paint he demanded for it cost $3 billion 'because it would be hot in the summer'. Fun fact: the last time the US had a real immigration reform in Congress was 1990. Over 30 years ago. So next time you ask why are there people coming here illegally, please ask yourself why the US government isn’t making it easier for people to immigrate here for a better life from countries that are war torn from direct US intervention.

To all those supporting the cracking down on these ‘illegals’ there’s something I need to know. Tell me, if they folks had an option to immigrate legally, would they? Do you think it’s some kind of malicious effort to come here against the law, or are they coming here out of desperation? Many of these people come from places like Haiti, Colombia, or Guatemala. Places that the CIA and American tax dollars destroyed. Illegal immigration wouldn’t be a problem if we didn’t make the situations of many of our southern neighbors unlivable.\n\nI’m a Floridian white dude who was comparatively born with the silver spoon in my mouth, I understand America is at a point economically where the last thing we need is to be spending money on non citizens, sending billions in foreign aid abroad or on undocumented immigrants. As an immigrant, I can see the reason for this. In the last year few years, things have gone for worse. Areas of GTA and BC have become ghettos. Being a minority, I still believe this multiculturalism has gone very far and should be contained before it destroys this one time great country.

They keep talking about losing a huge part of the workforce with mass deportations. So Americans aren’t looking for work? I’ve worked for Amazon for 3 and a half years now. I transferred from Va back home to ny last October. In va Americans are being hired. In ny Amazon is literally hiring nothing but Haitians. We hire a hundred and twenty people every year between July and January for prime and peek. I promise you without any iota of exaggeration, every last new hire is Haitian. I know of plenty of ppl who have applied to no avail. They really need to say if you’re American don’t apply. They get tax credits for hiring them. And because of this they do little to no work because they know nothing will happen to them. So all of the work falls on us . Out of the 120 new hires this year and last year 115 are under 27. They try to alienate us , intimidate us,and are extremely rude to anyone who isn’t Haitian. These are young people who are on straight gang time. I’m a black man telling you this and I’m from the street. It took me 6 years to finally make 20 dollars an hr, they come right over making the same as me while I’m working harder to accommodate their lack of productivity and at the same time hope I don’t lose my job for standing up to their rudeness and intimidation tactics. But the media will have ppl convinced that these are hard working meek and humble ppl just trying to make a better life for them and their families. I’m 45 years old and every year of my life we have always had a block party every summers end . For the last three years none. Because my neighborhood has been inundated with migrants who don’t care to assimilate.

I came here last 2019 legally and it is not an easy journey(the money through out the multiple process 1,2,3,4 and so on,the lawyer fee and time plus the stress both me and my husband and in God's time sooner the final application for naturalization.So for the democrats to just let the illegals come that easy and got free food,shelter and etc is so wrong.
