I hope Justin Trudeau comes back as leader of the Liberals in Canada. Of course he has to do some reflection as to where he might have gone wrong, and to learn from his mistakes. Perhaps learn how to make better decisions in the interest of Canadians. It's brilliant the way Trudeau is handling these crises for his country created by none other than thug, convicted felon/rapist/liar/insurrectionist Drumpf. Justin Trudeau is an educated man who speaks two languages fluently. Drumpf on the other hand is poorly educated and can hardly speak one language which is supposedly to be English. Drumpf can only yell, lie, slander and insult. What an oaf

Now I don't want to dampen the positive comments being direct to us Canadians which we all appreciate. However, I don't want people to forget that this individual talks about making things affordable for their citizens. There is a reason he has resigned. Don't forget that our country unreasonably fights itself on sooooo many things that make items in Canada so much more expensive than they need to be. I was hopeful our own government would make living more afforable for all Canadians by putting a freeze on things such as the Carbon Tax....guess that wasn't in the cards!? Together I hope that intelligence and common decency prevails.

I am Canadian and I am envious of Americans because you have a leader who can stand for you guys, Canada’s economy has been suffering with his leadership even before Trump was elected but he is supporting /funding war , giving out tax payers to refugees he has been bringing who don’t contribute to tax. Hear him more concerned to Americans as opposed to announcing to us Canadians what is his plan for Canada to address tariff! Let USA do their thing , improve your leadership and don’t rely on other countries plans/decisions, unfortunately we are affected but it’s your job to make strategies of how you would address that. What's it about? It's about money. It's about a gangster family in the Whitehouse, and oligarchs in the administration, all trying to make as much money as possible. There's no other explanation possible. That's the only explanation that comes close to making any sense. Now more than ever, even if these tariffs are short-lived, Canada needs to move away from U.S. trade. This is necessary for the long term survival and prosperity of Canada. We need to make every effort to increase trade with the pacific rim, Europe and South America. There may be some short-term pain, but it has to happen. Given the events of the last few years in the U.S., Canadians have to realize that things can get even worse, and will likely never be the same. There is very little reason to believe that the ties Canada has had with the U.S. will ever be what they were, or indeed any reason to believe that that is even desirable now.

But the imbalance has to stop.\n\nSame with Mexico, trading balance with Mexico is almost $200 billion in favor of Mexico. The imbalance has to stop. \n\nThe US economy is bleeding by trading with allies and partners, it’s fighting for its financial wellbeing. I'm doing ongoing research to cease any spend on any US product or service. I'm buying software from Europe, using Posteo for email, deGoogling this year and vastly reducing Youtube. I trace all groceries to eliminate anything US sourced and I now check that products are Mexican and Canadian as much as I'm able and they are supplying. I've stopped planning trips to LA and NYC, I might resume if American voters ever have the good sense to vote en masse against obviously fascist plans and personalities. I've holidayed in Mexico three times and would visit Canada and Europe in future. US is not safe for everyone any longer, not even its citizens and looks to be getting increasingly insecure and offering prosperity only to the already mega rich through crooked policies and agencies. Every week or two I double check the facts on groceries and online products/services to make sure I'm not accidentally buying American. The election was so compromised in November I'm glad people are realising the only action we can take is with our wallets from not logging in to 'big tech' to buying bread and apples etc.

Tariff 25%?\n\n●China -99.5% of precursor drugs needed to make fentanyl come from china. No regulations. Tariffs 10%??\n\nMost should know that the fentanyl coming thru Canada is less than 1% If your wondering where the other 99% is coming from,know this- china allows the sale of the precursor drugs needed to make fentanyl, and it's unregulated. They suppy the mexican cartels these drugs to make and sell which comes across Mexican borders into the US. If china regulated the precursor drugs it could stop fentanyl manufacturing in its tracks. Again 10% tariffs vs 25% tariff. There was a time that china cooperated & worked with the US on this but have since stopped.\nSo whatever is going on with the trump administration, it's clear by the numbers this isn't about fentanyl with Canada. Especially since he didn't extend the same tariffs to the country that could actually stop the making of this horrible drug.

I will do everything within my limited economic (non-billionaire), physical and social power to protect Canada against american aggression. You have threatened our democratically elected government, natural resources, economy and personal freedom. By electing “that person” as your leader and aligning with authoritarian dictatorships like Russia, you have threatened not only Canada and Ukraine but world peace. You have threatened your own economic and personal freedom. Prime Minister Trudeau spoke succinctly in a comprehensible way to let you, the american people, know the seriousness of your choice. If you understand what you have done and realize the implications, then peacefully protest (if that is still allowed with your evolving fascist/populist/authoritarian government). Contact your local, state/territorial and federal government officials. You can let your governors, senators and representatives know that you do not agree with the government’s actions and the subsequent hardship it will impose not only on the world but on you, your family and neighbours. Make change happen in a peaceful, non violent manner, while you still can. We didn’t ask for nor want this absurdly unnecessary confrontation but when attacked, we will fight our old friends and historic allies. Elbows up Canada!

Kind of makes me want to be a Canadian after hearing this. Our reality show president has not one ounce of class compared to Canada’s leadership.

Prime Minister Trudeau, I am sorry President Trump's irresponsible ideas and choices affect so many negatively which includes you and your Canadians, and me and my Americans, as well as so many other. He should be ashamed of himself, but we all know that a narcissist feels only joy in hurting others. I worry every day, not just for the people of the United States of America, but also for all people around the world affected by this horrible man. I stand up and speak up with the hope that it makes a difference. Those I know are doing the same. I have heard so many republicans that voted for Trump, so very sorry now that they did. His irrational behavior is worthy of impeachment. Your speech, Prime Minister Trudeau, was honest and sincere and I appreciate your being so candid. I wish President Trump and Vice President Vance had the character you have. Best Wishes to you and the People of Canada, we have been friends for a long time and I would love to continue this friendship. Remember there are Americans here that appreciate you and your country.
