And When we are greedy selfish and absolutely hate people around / worried or afraid about spending money to call them over as guests mixing with other ethinicities for even a cup of tea. You must understand our culture or values in this country are solely based on what do you have for us or what can you do for me that i need to entertain your existence. Sad but true fact .. I'm not 100% regretful living in Canada. I managed to get a full time job even without going to College or University. The more money you make, the more taxes you are going to pay. You have many opportunities if you are not lazy. Prayers work all the time. Just enjoy what you have and not be so materialistic, you will survive if you have faith in yourself. Spend less and save for rainy days.

It wasnt always like this. It is only like this the last 10-15 years. And I agree it sucks. And the thing is if you decide that no, you dont want to live like this (we don't) people actually complain on you that you or your kids are disturbing them. We live anyway but it still sucks. And in winter you spend the whole winter without even seeing the next door neighbor. They do not come out all winter.

As someone who spend some time in Vancouver, really considered to get more years visa I will compare with my home country Czech Republic and European-Union at all. I only find benefits in Canada:\n - big Czech comunities in Vancouver and Rockies and Toronto, its very heartwarming spending time with these people, getting contacts etc.\n- incredible nature\n- stay far from Russia (these days)\n\nBut It is not so big deal in case of money (pay/living ration), payed holiday (we have 5 weeks as standard), healthcare (I know people who FLY FROM CANADA TO EU for dentist) and distances. LIke evening trip after work is almost impossible. Going abroad is soooo far compare to Europe etc. I love Canada, at least for roadtrips, but I am not sure if starting from scratch, getting canadian experience really trade off

Pretty easy to answer that ....cause the liberal government lures them here and they find out its cold and you have to pay taxes that are always going up and the wages are falling behind , while Trudeu spends money the country doesnt have to suit his agenda and doesnt do a thing for the west ....hence the worst goverment in history of canada... be living in motorhome for the rest of my life . I’ve lived in Canada my whole life, I’ve gone through a year of culinary school and passed high school with decent grades. Yet still improving my quality of life is an uphill battle. Bus prices and efficiency is awful, if you don’t have a car good luck cause you’ll spend much of your wage on bus fare and still have to walk through poor sidewalk systems to get to your destination. Schooling really didn’t teach me anything about taxes, or getting a job. But let me tell you I sure as heck know how to lease a car.... can’t wait to get a job so I can do that. My year of culinary training, under 4 red seal chefs has gotten me not one job. No matter how perfect you are for the role is you will ALWAYS get an entry level position first. (In my experience at least) and they are completely right, references are 100% key. I have a first shift tomorrow (wish me luck) that I only got because my chiropractor gave the pancakes house owner his reference. Very weird but I’ll take it. On top of all this winter just sucks, politics have gone nowhere in years, and if you don’t live in the major cities of Quebec, BC, or Ontario it’s going to be even harder. Plus living in Manitoba is odd cause people always call it “friendly Manitoba” but everyone (including me) is always frustrated. Needless to say I’m in the process of researching new place to move to, most likely in Europe cause America has all the same problems. (But worse)

I would be honest with you most of people who leave Canada can have a good life in their home countries (mainly people who say this are from Europe or advanced country in Asia ), well if in your home country you can't make a life at all then what's the point of going back and what I'm taling about here is mainly African countries where everything is expensive and scarce, us living in third country we can even make enough money for a cost of flight alone in a one year of work, wages here can come to be 50$ USD a month that's if your lucky (and not even to say that you will spend most of them on food and health care)

Since the year 2000, the cost of owning a detached home has risen 10 folds. You could buy a corner lot house in a nice area and good location for an average of $160,000. Now that home would cost 10 times that cost in the last 20 years. Why? Foreign investors and immigration based on supply and demand as this also includes the increase in rent cost. People spend on average about $1000 to 1500 for a room to rent not their own suite in Vancouver. Twenty years ago, you could rent a whole house with a yard for that price on the waistcoats of BC. \n\nAnother issue, there are Canadians who do travel to USA due to people being in desperate need of care. USA has a wider spectrum of medical options in comparison to Canada. Canadians travel to USA because the waiting list is often way too long. Canada is nota complete free medical system as people hear and rehabilitation expenses are not free unless it is inside a hospital. It was from at one time as Medicare was founded on the grounds in the 1960's by Tommy Douglas, former premier of Saskatchewan, who initiated Medicare but it was no sustainable. \n\nJust because a person gets referred to a doctor, particularly a specialist when there are very few doctors in that area of care, it does not guarantee you will receive the treatment. I waited 2.5 years for a treatment in a hospital, only to be told that I was not a candidate for that treatment even though they did not screen me as a precursor before making a rational decision. DEVESTATING! Canadians if they have money often go to USA or Mexico when in desperate need. \n\nThere is a lack of doctors as many people do not have a family medical doctor who know their case personally. Complex diseases do not receive proper care as Canada does not have an integrated medical system of care amongst other doctors for patients. It has been on the news media where people have died being on the waiting list, returning back to hospitals where the hospital emergency because the concern of the disease was undermined with the overcrowded medical system.\n\nThere is a increased gentrification in the metropolitan cities that is an issue as the richer are now richer and the poorer are more poor. As there is an INCREASED immigration there is a huge stress in cost of living as there is not enough affordable housing and increased homelessness in Vancouver and Toronto. Vancouver is the worst place in North America as it is known as the drug hub called Skid Row. You can google this information as there are article written for 2021 and previously. Expo 86 and the 2010 Winter Olympics skyrocketed tourism and immigration that many people who are born and raised here before 1986 are very angry and resentful of how drastic the decline of how the quality of life has become.

I like how y’all have created this video by not applying a negative undertone rather more of an informative approach to caution prospective movers of what potentially awaits them. All I would like to highlight is the fact that some people will experience all these points as negative aspects or maybe even one or two that might lead to the breaking point.\nIt all depends on where you come from and how life was in your “home” country.\nYou might come from a higher tax environment with non existent healthcare and education. From that perspective, 40% taxes might look better and the healthcare might be great or crap depending on what your health issues are. I personally haven’t had any struggles with most of these aspects - finding a great job was relatively easier, (key word - relatively) the healthcare system worked for me when I needed it to, I was mentally prepared for the high taxes, I culturally adapted to the point where people thought I was Canadian and didn’t realize I came in from a very different environment. I’m sure this cultural adaptation helped me with my job and made it easier to live here.\nAll in all, you can say I’ve had the “perfect” immigrant experience that most people would dream of. But what do i think really? Personally, I have come to realize that Canada at the moment does not fit into my personal goals and values and that is okay. Loneliness away from people you love can be tough. It just isn’t the same feeling making new friends and hanging out with coworkers who are much older than you are and in a different place in life. I’m very close to my family and friends who I’ve grown up with and are on the other side of the world. My parents are getting older and I want to spend as much time with them as possible. For that reason, I might consider being somewhere closer to them. I’d perhaps consider coming back here some day when I’ve got my own family and kids which I currently don’t have. To me, that’s a personal value high on the list. I guess my only takeaway from this video and advise to people looking at each of these points - take each one and compare it with your home country. If you think you’re better off in Canada, then move - it’s a great place! If not, think about it real hard and weigh out the pros and cons.

Canada is what you make of it. You can arrive rich and end up poor and you can arrive poor and end up rich. In between that, you can have a great life that balances your needs. I’ve seen immigrants succeed simply because they see the opportunity in front of them . They worked hard in their own counties to stay just above the poverty line ,but when they apply that same effort here it pays off ten times greater. I feel that compared to a lot of immigrants, natural born Canadians come across as spoiled and a little lazy…we are. We haven’t had to struggle the same way someone from a poorer country might have. I’ve talked to people who’ve worked ten to twelve hours a day just to stay afloat. If you did that here you could make plenty of money to live and have some left over. As far as owning a house goes,yes it’s expensive . I feel that homeownership in any country is relatively expensive. Here is a tip; use that soaring home prices to your advantage. Houses are expensive but you can make a lot of money buying and selling. I recommend putting together a buyers group and share the house for a few years, then sell at a profit, buy a bigger house or two smaller houses.try to buy the worst house in the best neighbourhood and fix it up slowly . That house could double in value in five or six years in the Toronto market. This is nothing new of course ,the people from India and China seem to do this a lot here ,it drives up prices and profits. On the downside to this ,you are now part of the problem. As the housing prices are driven up the non wealthy can no longer afford to own a house . They are at the mercy of high rents with no rewards of ownership. They are caught in a cycle of hard work and (relative)poverty. This could also be you if you can’t keep up the house payments and are forced to rent.\nHow well you speak English is important but your native language is also useful here because Canada is half immigrants . As a Canadian that speaks only english (Irish descent)I have to say to all newcomers that I’m very impressed that you have learned a new language and that you may even speak more than two! Don’t be embarrassed about your abilities . I find that in my experience , Canadians do not look down on people just because they don’t know English. In fact ,I’ve known people that have lived here for decades and still know very little English. They are comfortable in their communities and they function just fine. Learn as much English as suits your needs and be proud of any gains you make.\nOutside of Toronto are other cities that you might consider when looking at southern Ontario.From my experience,most are generally the same, just not as big . There are large immigrant communities in London Ontario, Hamilton and just outside of Toronto where housing is just a little bit less expensive but the commute to work is probably longer. This is just my opinion but in the small towns there are less people of colour , (which is what people of no colour call everyone else . I wonder if I’m called a person of no colour in some other culture ? LoL ). That might make it harder for you to feel integrated ,if that’s what you want. I’m not saying that people from other cultures can’t make it in a small town , I’m just saying that it’s definitely not Toronto . Here, people of any nationality can feel like they have a place where they can belong . It seems that no matter where you are from ,there is a community already here that’s set up restaurants and stores and clothing shops and newcomer support systems. And if your from Portugal or China or India or Africa or the Middle East, there are large groups of your kin here that have established roots for generations and you probably know this already.\nToronto means meeting place and that becomes evident quickly. I was born here and it’s one of the things I love the most about my city. I’m not going to say that there isn’t systemic racism here ,the people of no colour still kind of keep the top position , but as we become a minority in a decade or so ,I hope that will shift to a broader spectrum. It’s certainly happening already. One good thing is that the police department tries to hire people of colour so that racialism may play a smaller role. We’re getting used to seeing our politicians more and more reflect their constituents.\nI have to talk about the weather. Because I’m from here I’m used to the extremes of minus thirty and plus thirty . Eventually you get used to it (somewhat). Dressing in the right clothes is important. Summer is easy , but winter is different. It’s trying to kill you. Spend the most that you can afford on winter cloths . If you can afford a quality parka you should get one. The hood can be drawn around the face and stay out of the wind.\nIf not ,think of layers with a outer layer that blocks the wind. We have things called long Johns that are basically full length thick cotton or nylon pants that go on under your pants and a pair of extra thick socks. Buy your boots to fit your thick socks. Try to get the best boots you can afford ,it’s something that you might spend a little extra for but never regret.\nAll in all we are a fairly organized and peaceful society. Most people are friendly and will give you a chance . We have a good social safety net here and you don’t have to be homeless or starving if you don’t want to. There are people and organizations set up to help ,that truly try to get people back on their feet. It’s a good investment that pays off in ways that matter for the quality of life in a big city. I’m not putting my American neighbours down when I say they do things differently. They have their ways ,we have ours. This is just something that we do because we’re trying to learn how to help those that society has discarded or can’t find their place. Sure we have one or two areas where the homeless have pitched tents and we have some resources for them if they want. Unfortunately The mayor recently forced a small camp to move from a very visible place to more scattered locations. There were social workers involved as well as protesters trying to protect them. I didn’t like that happening and I want to see even more resources dedicated to them ,but on the other hand ,we are trying to avoid something like what happens on the streets when it’s just ignored. When I see YouTube videos of the streets of Philadelphia I’m extremely saddened. I thank the lucky stars that I was born in Toronto Canada.\nFor all it’s pollution and expense and crowds ,I think it’s a great place to do almost anything your heart desires . For every ugly building there is a beautiful park ,for every honked horn there is a birds call , for every cold and dark day there is beautiful sunny one around the corner.

So here is the thing about what you have said about retraining and going back to school over here in Canada..\nMy wife has spent ten years going to universities in BC becoming a counselor but now we have moved to BN they want her to spend another 4 years proving to someone in NB that she can do the job she has been doing for 15 years , oh and she is a Canadian!\nI have 20 years experience as a plumber even before I moved to Canada, I prove this to the canadain goverment I can do my job get my visa. Then you have to do this all over again because the unions are really in charge over here, they dont want people like me moving here from the UK taking their jobs as they put it...\nWhy say to someone that, hey you can come over as you are exactly what we need! then tell them they have to go back to Collage and sit more exams and do schooling all over again.. I came over as a Plumber been here ten years and have worked as a plumber in Canada for 3 years tops as it was getting harder to get work, what is the point in this? \nAnd don't even think about leaving one province for another and expecting to be able to just do your job, that is not going to happen.. If I had known what I know now about Canada before I came here I would still be in the UK

Nice summary of the main challenges. Reading some of these comments leads me to believe that if one is motivated solely by money, Canada is not a great choice for you as an immigrant. The number of commenters hoping to move to the US from Canada due to greater opportunities to make money while ignoring the real and substantial disadvantages of living south of the borders just emphasizes this. My family are immigrants from the US and we didn’t face the same challenges as immigrants from countries further afield but I do understand the differences between the two countries very well and can state unequivocally that moving to Canada was the best decision our family made. Lower crime, better health care (yes even with the wait times), a fairer system and a “boring” but sane political system more than compensate for the few extra dollars I would make south of the border. In terms of where better prospects going forward for children and grandchildren, with the looming threat of climate change, Canada wins hands down. Extra income means little if you have to spend all of it on personal security and health care deductibles. So if you are only motivated by top line items like gross annual salary, Canada might not be for you and you would be better off looking elsewhere and leaving that immigration spot open to someone who can appreciate the more balanced offering that a new life and future in Canada can offer.

Mean while there watching the black person and its usually sometimes its the white person that's stealing the item. I've seen situation like that. I've even gone in to department stores looking to purchase something and being ignored by the sales rep they would rather help the white person than the black person in a situation where I wanted to purchase something the sales rep went to help the white lady who she spent half-an-hour with and that white woman did not purchase anything I was in a hurry ended up getting help from another sales rep ended up spending $300 the first sales rep who didn't help me looked over and saw that large purchase and thoughts to herself I should have helped that black girls. I mean in both cases you can't just judge a person by their colour a thief is a thief.

Dear video maker , it's nothing new in your life in Canada. Even people around the world including local people and local students are doing same . And it's nothing new to travel 2 or 3 hours in bus . People who stays in USA from ages are travelling same in car . Every students are expecting same life with them who are living in foreign from ages . Those people might had struggled more . Student has to understand before going on Student visa that with situations rather than keeping intrest in how to make money. 99 % students are interested in only money from day one .But foreign governments think that you have shown your financial documents, are enough for you to survive there even if you have no Job . And it's depends on the country, in which country you have gone and what is your qualification. If students go to UK or USA , thay might make little more money comparing to Canada, Australia or New Zealand. All students should understand before going to any country that only in USA AND UK country are the best to earn money and getting out money from there to india. Otherwise except these two countries none country is there in the world that you can make money there and send maximum money to india. Except these two countries other countries have made situation that whatever you earn there , you will have to spend in that country only. You can't save money to india for living good life in India. And it is good and thankful those countries where person after 18 years has go for job rather than being dependent on parents. And working in bakery with standing whole hours during job is not a new in those English country. They don't force to do that by law . This job is kind of that. Person has to understand job profile before joining the job . By English country law before you start job they will call you for induction and will explain what job you have to do . Life person is happy for that job , he / she can join the job . I think specially students has to look into positive things which in India students are not doing and thay have to do there in foreign countries. I am not trolling you but look into students life where local students in foreign are living and same. If you think this is struggling life then I can say this is not struggling life , students has to think first if they have gone for study or making money from first day. there are dozens of flaws in Canada's immigration system. I am surprised to see that a person who has not spent a single minute in Canada enters the country as a permanent resident . has not paid a single dollar in taxes enters as a permanent resident. has not played his part in Canada's society and doesn't know fuck about Canada enters as a permanent resident of Canada. it does not surprise me to see people commenting about residents living in Canada do not speak English. \n \nI will give an example of the UK here which is far more developed than Canada and have very high standards. first of all, no one can enter the UK as a permanent resident of the UK. even if their partner is British, they will still come to the UK on a visa. depending on how much their British partner earns, it will take 5 to 10 years for them to settle in the UK, provided they pass the residency test in the UK(which Canada does not ask for whether you are in Canada applying for a PNP or PR or you come directly from another part of the world). a person who gets in the UK as a student spends minimum 7 years, if he is not married to a British /EU national to get a PR, most spend 10 for a UK PR(known as ILR in the UK) provided they pass the test for English and life in the UK (citizenship test). in return, the UK offers to its residents what no other nation offers. canada is giving away residencies as if its a leaflet. it's easier to get a Canadian residency than it is to extend a skilled visa in the UK. I have lived in Canada and felt that standard of living in canada is not very high as compared to the UK. so if Canada offers easy residency to people, it is only because they also know they are not giving away something precious :)

To have, apparently, no English whatsoever after so many years does not indicate a desire to integrate. In Canada, there are hardly many jobs and no infrastructure for our own people. Even less willing the spend money to create jobs and infrastructure themselves. Unless you are able to build your own home and create your own business and employ US, there's next to nothing here for you as it is for ourselves.

A lot of people comment about how illegal immigration is ok, and blah blah blah. It's simple to say that when you don't feel the direct impact. Change the US as a country to your house. Now let's say the neighbors land Lord is beating the shit outta everyone in that household (play on the violence that's happening in country of orgin). One of then move into your house without letting you know beforehand (illegals). Let's say you don't mind and understand why they did so. Now they work hard around the house and get a job to spend for themselves and send money next door to the family still left behind. . But they don't have to pay for electricity, gas (aka taxes). And since you own a 3 bed room house, things don't change that much. Now 2 more of the neighbors flee because of the asshole land Lord. Now you have to start working slightly harder to pay for your utilities aka taxes. Now you start seeing how more people affect your household. Now even more people flee the next door neighbors and you work even harder for utilities plus your trash is overflowing, have to invest in larger trash cans, fix the doors or ascetic's(pipes, faucets, tubs etc) in your house from over use or mismanagement. Plus you have to start driving their kids to school, you have to get a bigger vehicle (that's a play on the education systems bloating classroom problems)spend more on gas and car maintenance, and since they all don't speak English, to have to spend money on making signs to inform them of the house rules and dangers. You have to invest time out of your schedule to inform them how things work in your house hold because at their house they walked around naked or shit with the door open (play on different societal norms or religions) and may even have to alter your rules as not to impose and anger them. Know the house is over filled and they expect you to buy a bigger house (play on the welfare state)I mean I can go on... But people reading this can get the drift. Point is, yes i understand that people want a better life and all immgration in not necessarily evil, but you can't just let anyone come in because you feel bad. Making change based off emotions of a few is detrimental to the whole.

So, an economic migrant makes a false claim for asylum, wastes a lot of taxpayer money in court costs, and is ticked off because he does not get what he is not entitled to. From what I heard coming from other source .Also when I see them at food banks taking home more than $150.00 in groceries from just 1 food bank they goto 9 amonth .their cell phones are top of the line .Clothes and shoes brand name only .Gold jewllery ladys purses $300.00 and up .And they all have cars from 40 thousand and up . This is strange, how they chose a subject for reportage. Refuge status is not for everyone who want to improve there economic situation. He must to prove that his life and life of his family was in danger, that he was discriminated and absolutely not have other choice, but ask for refuge in other country. A lot of people actually spend a lot of money, get higher education, get English language accreditation and rack up work experience just to get to Canada LEGALLY as an immigrant, where they have to start from the bottom again. Powell's Bookstore in Portland, Oregon used to follow my husband who is Native American around but not me if I was alone. As a Muslim living in Canada, I don't see the harm in a woman wanting to cover herself, I wear the head scarf myself, but in my opinions I don't feel the need to cover myself to prove I am more modest or a better Muslim.  I believe everyone has free will and has the right in this Country to dress the way that the law has allowed them to.  No one has the right to tell someone how to dress, not even the Prime Minister himself.  Telling a woman what she can and cannot wear is oppression.  I truly believe that if Muslims want to live in Western civilization, then they should refrain from covering their faces because the face is our identity and People have the right to know who you are and what your face looks like.  You cannot vote with a covered face, you cannot cover your face in a passport photo, you cannot cover your face for your driver's licence etc... I am a Muslim woman and I say this.  It truly is a shame how the media is portraying Islam and the Muslim people as a whole, and it truly is a shame that Canadians have become so ignorant.  I see more ignorance and racism in Canada than I do in America and 9/11 took place in America.  If you want to know about Islam, learn about Islam from a Muslim, a Library, google Islam, or offer to spend a few days with a Muslim family for research to get a better understanding of Islam and Muslims.  As a Muslim myself I can understand the hatred and the ignorance because we act according to how we were taught and raised, and yes we have many extremists claiming to follow the Islamic faith.  These extremists are not only hurting Western civilization, but they are also hurting the peaceful moderate Muslims that value their rights and freedoms as Canadians.  I do not appreciate ISIS hijacking my religion, I do not appreciate Hamas or Hezballah hijacking my Religion because I am a very accepting person and a very open minded Muslim and to be defined by media as a problem or a terrorist is very hurtful and a shame.
