$155 BILLION LOSS. What a joke. Trump will feel the sting.

It doesn’t feel like America is a democracy anymore, more like a Trump dictatorship. Isn’t the Congress supposed to vote on these decisions?

The people who killed Eric, my loved one who was murdered in the World Trade center, came in through Canada; not that I'm upset blut it. As an American, I must say we have boot-licking morons running our Government. I can't believe EVERY Republican agrees with anything that Trump says. I live in the United States, and you have no choice but to take this action regarding our country. Trump did a good thing. All you woke, soft hearted liberals don't get the fact that the USA has been allowing these other countries to eat off of us for free. Well, that' stops today. Unfortunately, in this speech, all J. Trudeau has shown is that Canada can be forced to implement irrational and costly programs (fentanyl/border security) while otherwise listing off every reason the United States has for annexing Canada. Canadian vulnerability is on full display and there are going to be plenty of famous ex-pats and wealthy citizens, who are already silent, and will soon be quietly, then vocally, supporting it. The Trump administration doesn't think Canada is a legitimate country and unlike Mexico, they feel it can absorb its demographic easily. This is how Anschluss works.

As an American, the saddest thing is I now have to root against America. A slim majority of those who voted put this wannabe dictator and putin puppet in office and I want to see other countries point that out and slap back. As Trump feels he has to do what he has to do, Canada has every right to respond and implement tariffs as seem fit. Canada, Mexico, and China applies pressure to Trump, he has no choice but to re-think his decision.

As much as it genuinely upsets me that things had to come to this, it came as no shock. tRump has always been jealous of Canada - our oil, natural gas, timber, minerals, etc.. tRump is ridiculously jealous of our younger, fAAAr better looking country AND Prime Minister. \nSeriously though, Canadians ARE a proud bunch. I'm a canadian who usually agrees with Trump but in this case I feel like this makes no sense. Not sure exactly why Trump is doing all of this but deteriorating relations between us and impacting our economies in such a way makes no sense to me. The stock market is plummeting, jobs on both sides are at risk, prices on both sides of the border will go up. Btw my job won't be affected by these tariffs so i'm not speaking out of anger or fear for my job.

As a Canadian I can tell you it is a supremely miserable feeling to have a nation which we have such strong feeling for strike at us like this. It is equally miserable to know that our tariffs will also cause pain to Americans. We are sorry, and I know that is cliche, but we are. Have no doubt, if you know us at all, we will fight back passionately, vigorously and indefinitely. President Trump has done what no one should ever do: put our backs to the wall. I feel like this is Trump’s move to apply pressure and instability to the Canadian people in his bizarre quest to obtain Canada as another state. If you know history, you know what happened the last time America tried to take Canada.
