If the Amer-I-can border is such a worry for this embarrassment of a USA administration (worst in history and that is saying a lot), then let them invest in border controls to keep out the overwhelming flow from our beautiful country of fentanyl and illegal immigrants that DOESN’T exist. As an American military veteran from just south of the Canadian border here in Washington state, I support both Canada and Ukraine on the world stage. Thank you PM Trudeau for being the adult in this exchange. Best of luck to all of us, times are going to get very tough.

As a Finnish guy living in Germany I am so glad to hear PM Mr Trudeau´s speech. There are mighty many people around the world who respect and love each other, and try to keep to do so. Chapeau Canadians!! And, the EU is not to screw the US, it never was.

Canada is also our closest leech. By all rights you shouldnt even be an independent country. You're the second biggest country in the world, you have the 28th largest military. Even though we as Americans might disagree with President Trump, we have to stand firm on some things here, the way PM Trudeau came on here and reversed this tariffs on the US after all we done with this is still an attack on us, we have to think broader and wider, I am a 22 year retired Navy vet and seen how these countries treat us and we have been taken advantage of, it’s time we stand firm. Our dumb PM Trudeau is punishing Canadians by adding tarrifs to US products they need for their businesses and not given them time to find alternative canadian sources. He is not as smart as premier Doug Ford who is just adding surtaxes to products sold to US from Canada. There's many reasons not to like Trudeau up here in Canada, many of which are the reason he'll (rightfully) no longer be the PM next week. As a conservative I hated him for SNC-Lavalin (among other scandals), and the fact that his inexperience with the economy Harper left him is probably part of why this trade war is going to hurt more than it could have, and the fact that he's often been kind of a phony more concerned with looking and sounding good for the press cameras. Not this time. Nothing phony here; I've got to give credit to him for capturing the national mood pretty much perfectly with this speech. Good on him. \n\nAnd congratulations as well to Donald for pretty much handing the Liberals their best shot at a fourth term, too. What an absolute idiot.
