Ohh come on... Canada is facing a lot of problems starting from immigrants to finance to racism. Now Canada is also facing a lot of climate change issues. Canada is dying to be honest. Jo dikhta hai waisa hai nahi if I tell you the truth.

They should actually just follow the Canadian culture. I mean, they came here and they should bend and adjust to Canadians, not the other way around. There are some that are really demanding and would complain a lot how they are mistreated but so far, as long as you are also compromising, everyone is smooth.

Honestly speaking, I never thought that there’s a lot of issues going on in Canada, during the college seminar, we were told that there’s good education (which is completely true), good pay rates for work, good housing and good society. After coming to Canada, I realized the rents are sky high, homeless people everywhere (it’s not their fault, they are homeless because of the government), drugs & weeds, everything’s expensive, high tax, couldn’t able to get even a low wage jobs? if I know these things are going to happen then I won’t come to Canada, also I don’t have enough money to pay back my education debt and I can’t go home without earning a single penny, I’m trying my best to spread awareness about the real issues that’s going on in here and I hope people will think twice before coming to Canada. \n\nOther than that, Canada?? is a beautiful country with amazing people, places and culture, I would love to be a part of it but if the situation is not gonna improve then I prefer to go back to India??

Majority of South Asians, Central Asians and East Asians will be voting for Trudeau. Also, in the list is Middle Eastern and Africans. He does have a lot of support from them.

Sorry Indians are doing what they do in India! They bring their corruption and pollution mentality! They want to be rich overnight and live it up then show it off to each other, see how rich, successful & toxic I am so rest crowd follow the foot steps! Now there are many great Indians and do have ethics & moral. You do not feel unease around them.i just chose my friends carefully! Again immigration brings all different types of people! Many worked hard to have what thru have and are humble but this new generation is really materialistic and entitled! When one person’s bad behavior is rewarded then many follow and it become a culture of the group!

I am a finland National and i did my student exchange in Canada for 3 months 4years ago with Lots of indian students in my class,i honestly admire their hardworking and resilient spirit,i still have few them as friends,though i am back in Finland and employed,so also is my Indians friends they are employed in canada and paying taxes,I am just curious why Canada is targeting and don't want this group in Canada,maybe Canadians don't need more workers :)

Because like Canada and Belgium, the Ukraine is also basically an “unnecessary country”, or at least one that’s “too big for its britches”. Why is it if employer already allowed to recruit and approved LMIA foreign worker still need work permit is just a redundancy. The problem also is there is a lot of skilled and professional with years of experience but cannot practice their profession and skills because Canada doesn’t recognized it.

I grew up in Canada and I'm white. When I went to high school everyone who I met grew up in the country so it was very easy to socialize and make friends. When I went to college it was a very big culture shock because everyone traveled to Canada from another country mostly India, Korea, China and the Philippines. Most indians/immigrants ive interacted with are insanely smart people. In high school all the native Canadians were a lot less intelligent vaping is a huge issue but everyone was highly social so I was able to fit in easily even though im a pretty unlikeable person. The problem is that in college I couldn't really make any friends because of the cultural differences and since native Canadians are very rare where I was studying the culture was also kinda different. So it kinda makes me feel like im an alien in my own country. But honestly everyone kept to them selves a lot more. There are a bunch of other factors like people hyper focusing on studying but I wish people would just socialize more instead of just doing their own thing.\n\nI still remember back in high school when people used to know about everything that happened if there was something that happened everyone would know about it because everyone would talk about it there were group chats with tons of people in it where people would organize things or share memes. I think people should take inspiration from this and probobly do this more often but now its honestly just very lonely.

I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. There's no reason that we need to have more people coming here right now. We have way more than enough people here right now.

Honestly, now I just want to move to the Netherlands ?\n What bothers me the most the lack of incentive to learn the language and the simultaneous judgement from people when you don't know the language. I'm disappointed by all those other problems that were pointed out but the language barrier is the biggest hurdle for me. I work for a multinational company, which means English is the language of choice there, and learning German means dedicating a lot of extra time to it, which I don't always have. \n\nExpats are expected to insert themselves in the culture, not be welcomed into it. And it's not just learning German, it's also not forgetting what you learned. You need to make extra effort to keep yourself in contact with the language and that is a bit tough as well. Do I watch Stromberg or The Office?

My US work permit got approved yesterday! Ive lived in Canada for 29 years but it started going steeply downhill around 2018 and the 2 years of covid were rough. I miss it a lot but the costs and constant fear of getting my house and car broken into, as well as watching my tax dollars go down the drain has been tough. Also I feel like people are hustling so hard they’re not as happy. It makes me sad as well

Please Don’t blame Indian people, blame Canada’s government. Indian people come with Education and money. Yes we have our own culture and own language but we also like Canadian people and their culture. Canadian government wants more money and that’s why they are inviting more n more students from world and mostly come from India and there is nothing wrong with that. All Indians come here in Canada as a true immigrant. Why you are not talking about so many refugees, who come to Canada with no education no money and they are burden on government. Compare to refugees, Indians work hard, get education here, pay fees in colleges, earn work permit and then pass English exam and then get PR and then citizenship. Indians work hard and earn PR and citizenship here in Canada but what about refugees and asylum seekers. They fucking don’t do anything and they fucking easily get PR citizenship. Why you’re not talking about this ???? Immigrants come to Canada from all over world not just India. Lots immigrants from African countries,Bangladesh, Pakistan, Philippines and so on. So don’t talk about only Indians. In last 5 years, Canada invited so many refugees from all over world. So talk about this also.

It's really difficult to understand the bureaucracy.\n\nBureaucracy:\nIt took me 9 months to get a working permit.\nFor a renewal, I had to make an appointment to have an appointment... The last time they offered me an appointment after 1.5 years.\n\nYou don't get a right answer from the people who works there. Your life depends on those people.\n\nAs an expat who lives 3.5 years in Germany, I still don't have an German bank account which is not online. Basically, they don't open the account or giving an appointment to over 1 months or etc. \n\nBut this bureaucracy is for all. Germans also have the same issue.\n\nHousing is also an issue. I tried to apply the same places by my name and a German name. It was possible to get an appointment by a German name :) \nBut I do understand them that they find Germans of course more trustworthy.\n\nCulture:\nI don't think many people are racist here. I even live in Mecklenburg Vorpommern. They were mostly nice to me. However, the city you live change a lot. Hamburg is one of the best city about welcoming expats. People are nice and kind. Never had an issue here.

The problem with Germany is that every employee is taxed from the revenue /tax board. So the employers have to pay 25% on Top of the salary to the revenue board whereas the employee also pays tax on his salary. This leads employers to feel they are paying a lot for the service and the employees to feel that they are not getting enough in hand as net income. Both become unsatisfied. On the top, this money is used to support the social system where it is very easy to get to. So the people who are not willing to work sneak into the social support and are getting supported by the high taxes which the employees and the employers are paying. Unless this disparity is avoided and social reform is brought in, this dissatisfaction will continue and Germany will never get enough workers.

Lived in the US for 4 years and bought 5 rental properties in my home country. Now I'm retired at the age of 34. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am now building a business and want to expand to Canada for my actual retirement. I went to Germany for my Masters at one of their top universities, back then (10 years ago) taken in by their great public image and a personal interest in Germany history and culture. Looking back now having also experienced living in the UK, HK and Sweden thereafter, I can understand why Germany has trouble attracting the top talents, or any ambitious individuals seeking to develop their career overseas.\n\nIt doesn't provide the money.\nIt doesn't provide a dynamic enough market and opportunities.\nIt doesn't provide the same type of diversity and excitement in truly world-class cities like London, HK etc. Don't get me started on food.\nEverything is functional but that seems to be the sole standard to aspire to. \nGermans are not the people whom you can bond easily. Sincere and friendly many are, but the amount of effort needed to even crack beyond that shell is ridiculous. In this respect I think most north europeans are quite cold and distant. But working with Germans you need to also handle their 'honesty', intensity and directness on top of that. The lack of nuance rubs a lot of people in the wrong way. \n\nThe Germans whom I met and spent their formative years overseas are fantastic. Invariably none of them would have thought of moving back.

I have lived in Canada for 37 years now, and pretty much i feel Canadian with a background of turkish and i was born in Bulgaria. I have lots of options, i can get my Bulgaria citizenship and look for better opportunities in the European union countries or move to Türkiye, or settle in the village where i was born for a much more relaxing life with cleaner air and organic foods. I got 4 more years to pay off my business vehicle with very little mortgage left. I also want to know if we can get rid of the current government heads and if the new heads can turn things around.

Canada is not a good country to live in, there are many better options today, as shown by the number of Canadians leaving. You will basically live to pay taxes for a corrupt govt and you will not be free to choose the life you want. You are a lot better of in any country in Europe, like Spain, Italy or even Denmark, also better off in Asia, like in Malaysia or the Philippines, and even in South America, like in Argentina or Paraguay.\nMost Canadians ignore that Canada is bankrupt and collapsed, but it's getting worse and it will be too late when they do. I live in Scotland for last 5 years, moved here because I was tired of India. Its corruption, polarized politics, and also how people behave. I have been welcomed by the Scots here, treated with respect and made many Scottish friends and know families who are some of the kindest warm people you will meet. \nI also know lots of Indians who are well behaved and good residents of Scotland. But sometimes I see Indians who simply take advantage of the Scottish hospitality. These Indian abuse the honor system to the point that it has become less prevalent. I once seen some north Indian guy singing vulgar Bhojpuri songs to a white girl when on the sidewalk in a manner that can be called eve testing, that made my blood boil. I absolutely hate it and avoid some Indians unless I personally know them. Being and Indian I dont want to be associated with Indians abroad because these 1-2% Indians have given the rest of us a bad name.

I think that what you are describing is the case in most western traditionally European countries. I also think that is on purpose. I live in the US and have my entire life, I'm in my 50's (let's just leave that there!). the same can be said for many places in this country. I've lived in newengland my whole life. it used to be considered the benchmark when I was growing up in the 70's and 80's , as far as cost of living , cost to buy a home , wages and job opportunities , quality of life, safety. its not the case now. I did recently move to extreme northern new England this year as southern New England where I grew up and my family is , too crowed, too expensive etc. I am within 1-5 miles of Canadian border where I am now, but still in US! I do have a current passport, just renewed it and plan to visit NB and Quebec City and hopefully PEI . I do live in a very rural area with low population currently. farming and timber are main industries here. not a lot going on, but at my age I really enjoy it. reminds me of how things used to be when I was growing up 40 years ago! people and even young people are polite and decent here, no traffic. its a bubble, but we are 500 miles from the chaos to the south. I left Germany after a year working.\nReason:\n15%- Even though i learnt german, but still faced discrimanation sometimes due to colour. Due to discrimanation outsiders can never go up the ladder. In the USA, You would see many Indians as CEO, but in Germany its impossible.\n25% - Work is too slow. Many people remain on leave/holiday. Not just my office, bank and other gov work are also very slow.\n20% - Too many immigrants. its no more germany. school has almost 80% non german.\n10% - Dependency on trains, and trains are often delayed. Getting driving licence takes lot of time.\n5% - Cold weather\n5% - High taxes (but we get some benefits)\n5% - People are very closed. I wanted to help and talk to neighbour, but they were so cold to interact.\n5% - Away from home, never felt like home.\n5%- Doctor appointment, sply for kids is nightmare. \n5%- Drugs, beer, smokers everywhere. No culture.\n\nOthers find difficulty in finding house, but i got easily.\nNow some positive:\n\n50% - Too much time for yourself. I'm pretty sure more will come but many will leave so on once they understood that their living standards aren't improving. I see lot of people are struggling and moving to Netherlands, Belgium and soon. Even with two income it's hard to survive in any EU countries. The main reason behind all this misery is lack of housing, tax, tax and more taxes. Netherland is also not a good at housing and taxes. European are not work hard becasue it will only result in more taxes and causes more misery. In EU majority of people choose to spent time with family and friends than earning more money. It is cultural difference between EU and rest of the world.\n\nImmigrants come to EU thinking of earning more fortune like Dubai or USA, so that they can send remittance back to home has just become a day dream. In reality these countries take half of your fortune in taxes and in return they give good water, clean air and almost peaceful life.

I was allowed to grow up with and almost among them. At school, the children of Western European guest workers, including Turkey. \nWell Canada was always the brother of the States in my eyes. The dream country when the States don't work. Since Trudeau and Covid, unfortunately, a lot has gone off the rails. Oh yes, Germany is not the answer, if that's what anyone thinks. Student visa to Thailand, you can get it from Laos Thai embassy. I have done this once, you go to Thailand as tourist, register with a school, to study anything, thai language if you want, example 2 times a week 3 hours each time, super minimal study. The school will make a bus tour with the students to Laos embassy, 1 night there and you will have student visa.\nIf you want to tske it super easy, you can also study english language, just to make it easy, but of course learning thai would be helpful.\nIt wasn't a big school with lots of students, just a small offline building with 30-50 foreigner students,\nBest part is that you can go instantly, no need to wait in your home country for months to get a visa.\nI think you can stay 5 years with student visa if you continue your study, maybe you need a paper from the school once a year to proof you didn't drop out.

There are a lot more reasons to leave Canada other than the insanely high cost of living, which comes from inflation, a hidden tax, the higher crime or greater drug use. In general the quality of the people sucks, and what she may know but is not mentioning is the fact that it is only a matter of time before they institute digital mark of the beast central bank slave money in Canada. Then the government will control your money 100%, and will tell you what you can do or not do and thing or not think or poof, there goes your money. They are also paying farmers all over the place to stop growing food, because of climate change, lol, so there will be food shortages and energy shortages because that causes rises in co2, a gas that when doubled makes plants grow 50% faster. The ruling class in Canada has much worse plans for Canadians than they realize, and I wish people would be more honest and knowledgeable to talk about these things too. But yeah, economically in 10 years what it is going to be like in Canada will make what is happening now look like a stroll in the park.

I know exactly where your coming from.I have lived most a lot of my life away from Scotland. I have been back off and on past few years due to personal circumstances. I see a great change in immigration and the way the country has went downhill with the current government as transport roads etc are unacceptable now and lack of good rental accommodation with soaring rental prices and buying property is way too expensive and not worth the price. Also similar to Canada and USA the cost of living is way too high. I am leaving in coming weeks with no intention to return. Same story, also moved to Canada(French Canada!!! :D) when I was 4, I'm 32, been in Canada like 24 years. Easy fit, my Dad was Canadian, so got Naturalized easily. I left Canada at the end of 2020. Mostly because of Covid/Work Opportunities in engineering. Now living in the USA with my Canadian Wife and visiting Canada 2 months every year, also happen to be born American, so again, easy(easier**, still hard) move for me. Currently working in engineering, less travel experience, but I did get to visit or work for long period of time in 5 countries. Anyway, I do have similar opinion, I think the solution is a federal housing initiative. We NEED to build north and have more cities than Toronto,Montreal & Vancouver. It would reduce rent & mortgage by a lot. Essentially solving the ''where are we going to put all those immigrants issue'', then secondly, we need to encourage entrepreneurship and business a lot more. We need more jobs and be less reliant on our USA neighbors or EU neighbors 3. Better transport, surprisingly a lot of Canadian don't visit all other Canadian province and prefer traveling out , hell, I want nothern Canada & Nothern Quebec to be more like Alaska, or make it easier from someone from Quebec to move to Alberta, but still easy enough to visit family and friends in their home state in under 3 hours. ;)

Fleeing the country isn't the answer. There are a lot of things you don't know about central America, and Panama ain't no paradise. Also these are countries riddled with dictatorships and coups. Take a look at Guatemala and currently El Salvador. May be fine for foreigners, but soon you'll find yourself jailed in your own house. As a 1rst gen immigrant, I choose to fight because if no one fights, we lose automatically. Better die standing on your own 2 feet than live as a coward.

I currently am considering Germany as work in Canada is horrible for medical educated personnel. Was looking at Italy, Spain, Poland, and Sweden. Canada is hitting me up for a lot of taxes Federal , Provincial, and Municipal. I also am taxed by the USA for taxes for my real estate holdings, and get taxed by Canada for homes I inherited from my elderly uncle’s. I literally rent my homes to my cousins in Tacoma and Kansas as rental rates are unaffordable. I see house values go up but taxes are there to make it impossible to support the valuation. But enough about my tax problems, I hope you can take your journey over there and report what it’s really like?

I wish you all the luck for wherever you are planning on moving. It is quite sad when home no longer feels like home anymore, how it changes into something you do not recognize or feel safe at anymore. I also plan to move out of the US in a couple more years, yet to be finalized. I feel you might be going to Asia. You sure have spent a lot of time there and seemed very happy. most place in the European part of Southern Europe is a fairly safe bet for you to live in. some areas of Italy such as Naples have a high crime wave but there are also a lot of safer areas in Europe such as parts of Portugal, a lot of the Greek Islands and some quieter parts of Italy. parts of the South of France are also nice but perhaps expensive.

It happens to so many people from all over the world to want to move to another country. Nothing wrong with that. It's in our human nature to always wander / wonder about. It's the same desire that has got MAN to where we are now. Flying to the moon. Exploring the outer reaches of the universe. And many other things - big and small - in between, like the internet, Youtube, Airplanes and Jets ,Facebook and Smartphones.... I wish this lady all the luck. In a lot of ways I envy her. I dream of seeing many many places (although I have done a significant amount of travelling also). She has actually done much more because she followed her heart whilst not losing her head.

I mean, you come to a country and you have to adjust and learn the language. Pretty straightforward, and most of us are doing it.\n\nBut when on the other side you have people who do not understand the effort and have no patience for it, it is a frustrating experience. It is also annoying that you know they need you here, they know they need you, but none of that is reflected in the way people coming in are treated.\n\nA lot of us also come with skills and accomplishments behind us. And then we need to play fish-out-of-water for a while, speak a language in which we know we sound incompetent and we can see someone underestimating us (because they lack the understanding of what our situation brings). And last but not least, a serious problem with patience and empathy.\n\nThese are all issues you will find in other countries too. But man, Germans are not good at dealing with it. And more and more it seems to me they do not even care (other than the few german friends I have, who always make me second guess my generalisation).

I also didn't like the answer by the comissioner, because she told in a way that this is a responsibility by every country to take refugees. By this answer she provides the wrong signal to asylum seekers (that they can demand something from host countries) and also I don't think that it should be a respinsibility of the states, but their will. It should be win-win offer for both sides. But of course I think everybody would like to help to people in the trouble, but recources are not infinite everywhere also. And also there are a lot of imposters. That's why I don't like when governments provide too much social support for all. It should be, but limited. And motivate people to be independent.

Go figure why the Silicone Valley (which uses a lot of skilled immigrants) is in the US and not Germany. It is also helpful to check the expanding gap of GDP per capita between Germany and the US over the past 10 years!

A lot of new immigrants are trying to contribute. A lot of recent arrivals are also a blatant detriment to the society.

In my experience, there has always been a feeling in Canada against immigrants. This is generally among the working class. \n\nIn the early 1990s I was doing a lot of work in Canada for a US tech company. I am an American, by the way. One time I was working with a Chinese Canadian engineer, who worked for the client company. We went to the loading dock to check on the equipment from my company, which had just arrived. The native Canadian loading dock workers were openly making racist slurs about the Chinese engineer, right in front of him. He was very careful not to respond. I asked him about it later, and he just waved it off. This was in the Toronto area. I was also warned about Chinese who were involved in organized crime in the city. Then, a few days later I saw it in downtown Toronto. Two Chinese men in a Mercedes had stopped on the road and pulled a woman out of the car and started threatening her. It was a tense situation. \n\nOften it is the government types that welcome the immigrants, for various reasons. Canada does indeed have a demographic problem. \n\nThis is not the 19th and early 20th century in Canada or the US or Europe. Today we have extensive social safety nets. This means taxpayer dollars. In the earlier times the immigrants had to fend for themselves. Even then, there would be feelings against the immigrants. At least in the US it was a time of rapid economic and geographic expansion. Not so anymore.

As a Canadian i believe we need to stop this. This is not good for the country as its not good for our taxes. Talking about taxes a lot of people also work under the table (cash only jobs). This wasy they avoid taxes as well. Canada needs to hire undercover agents and make the fines to business owners so high that they would go bankrupt if they employ such people. There are also communities that hire only their people. I do not consider this as intergration to a host nation. A lot of issues that need to be addressed. Thats why i believe we need a strong leader to make Canada good for its law abiding citizens.
