I visit Canada regularly since the late 90th. I saw a steady decline in the last years. Get rid of Trudeau and his bad politics. The sad thing is that this happens to many western countries. Currently I live in Germany. The loss of wealth and confidence due to damage done to the economy by the current government is mind blowing. People are angry. Visiting the Netherlands, Britain, France - everywhere I go in the west it’s the same. People are fed up of leftwing ideology, identity politics and high taxes.\nThe west needs to wake up. \nPeople are leaving for other places.\n\nIf one is good in his job, one can live a good life in many places. A friend moved to Colombia - he is very happy.\nI am planning to move my business as well…

Many of your numbers are wrong sweetie. Here are the facts;\n2 years ago, you would go to IGA (where food is fresh but it is pricey), you would get out with 2 bags of groceries for about 120$. Today, it is 180$ for the same 2 bags. this is NOT a 10% increase... but almost the double in price!\n\nRent, in Quebec province, have gone from around 1,000$ to 2,400$ in less than 5 years, and each time a tennant leave his place, the landlord rise (against the law but nobody can do anything) the rent often by 25 to 40%!!! The Demand is so high, that he can refuse you for any reason (including racism, children, pet, smokers) he can think of. Again, this is against the common law but in truth, there is nothing anybody can do, unless you can bring him to court, which takes lots of money...\n\nSo in reality, from the last 5 years, almost everything has double in price and salaries have barely start to rise (mostly due to unions who revolted) but if you are not part of one, your salary basically stayed the same.\n\nA very good advice, don't come to Canada. There is no 'dream' here anymore. it is hell. And even if you find a decent job, you will be ask to do the job of 4 peoples and taking your vacation will be near impossible without losing it. If you are not dying in your country, don't come here. I knew some people that came here from France, and although the situation is bad in France, it is still easier to live in France than here and so, they returned.\n\nWe are called a social-communist country by US standard, but the truth is, we have never been so far away from it. We are now into a company distopia that have monopoly on prices, control over any legislations, and our government steal money from its citizen to give it to companies so they grow artificially without giving any more good jobs to people. I foresee a citizen unrest if not, a revolt, in the near future. The domestic violence is reaching new heights, and if you don't believe me, just look at the current news; this last 2 days have seen 2 women beaten to death by their husbands... and that is just the point of the iceberg we see... People are stressed, angry, broken, and even if we keep making jokes ( that is how we are...) we are all worried about the future of Canada.

Watching this coming from a 3rd world country just reminds me of how privileged people in 1st world countries are. \nYes, people have all the right to be mad/upset about all of these issues because everyone in the world should have access to a good life, but truth is: covid fucked up the entire world and all of these problems are problems 3rd worlders have been dealing with their whole lives and honestly? They’re far from the worst problems we have to deal with. \n\nI get people wanting to leave to search for better opportunities and lifestyle, but saying Canada is dead or that it’s a bad place to live is just such privileged bullshit.

Don’t move to Canada. I’ve lived here all my life and it’s gotten so bad every where you look there’s homeless camps. There’s people living in recreation vehicles on the side of the road. I hope when refugees and immigrants land on Canadian soil they get issued a tent and a hand shake (good luck)

Consider republic Islamic of Mauritania though I can't say it's the best choice but not that bad for children islamic education. Dubai is a great choice but I am not sure there's a librity of speech in golf cities or countries in general. UK is very good I saw that many people went there after being bullied as Muslims in Sweden or afraid that their children will be took away from them. It has a great islamic comunity. Hongkong is good too for its international schools but liberty of speech again is a problem.

As a Turkish I would say don’t choose Turkiye!! My country system is secular education system so worse…I lived USA but I grew up in Turkiye I know the schools!!Yes it’s safe no school shootings like USA but the education is not good a especially for religious people I’m religious and long time ago before the Erdogan never allowed to hijab in schools now Erdogan changed but if the other secular politicians win everything changes very quickly I know it !!!Right now economy is going very bad in Turkiye and everything is so high prices !!!I love my country!!But I can tell the truth

MashaAllah, u guys r such an amazing couples and parents. I know this is not an easy decision, but Allah is with u and I really stand and look up to u. Every parent knows what is best for their children and families. I live in Pakistan 2. Me and my brother were born in US to Pakistani parents. My mom didn't want to leave US but my dad said there is no religious environment there plus our whole family lives in Pakistan and didn't want us to grow there. Our apartment owner who was Christian was not letting us go. He said that u guys r such an amazing people, good Muslims, nice to everyone and take Care for everyone. It was really hard for both of my parents but Allah made it easy for us. My mom passed away when I was 18 and my brother 15 and I really miss her. My option is u can guys move to Pakistan. U can get Islamic education + Islamic environment. No matter how bad our politics, government doesn't care about Its own country and no cleanliness but I still love Pakistan. I really respect you guys for making such a hardest decision with strength. I really support you guys with this decision. Just don't mind I was just giving an advice that Pakistan is way better but it is totally up to u guys which country u like to make your better life. But where ever u guys go, u are all always in my prayers even our brothers and sisters in Gaza. My family moved 22 years ago from Mumbai to Toronto…while the struggles said on your channel are real, there are also perks which I feel like you didn’t get to experience. If people have good jobs, stable family life then DON’T move…culture shock is huge that people moving from India don’t consider, just by wearing and eating western food doesn’t make you western! \nThere are sacrifices to be expected which you don’t realized as your great grandparents or grandparents might have made when they started out! \nMoving to another country is never easy, unless you’re loaded with $$$. People in India are lazy as they have people working for them and don’t realize how difficult it is living outside of that lifestyle (not everyone in India can afford housekeepers, cleaners). Being independent and doing things on your own has its own positive (just need to figure it out). \n\nI have worked in healthcare for 16 years and let me tell you…social system works better as everyone gets the health service without being judged about $$. Healthcare is based on priority around the world but people don’t understand this as they feel like their problem should be attended first no matter what! \nNot all drugs are legal in Canada, marijuana is legal though with acceptable limits…you probably were misinformed about drugs! Teach your kids about right /wrong when it comes to drugs, smoking, alcohol and that’s the best you can do! I know people who live in India and do all that which you mentioned you were worried about for your kids. \n\nWhat you experienced was a classic case of culture shock and your expectations didn’t match the reality! Moving away from family, changing lifestyle and being responsible adult (doing things on your own rather than relying on workers) is difficult but doesn’t make the country bad that have you an opportunity to settle! Don’t take things for granted even while you live in India…appreciate the effort that goes into everything- keeping roads clean, people working hard, etc. \n\nBest advice I can give to those considering moving to any foreign country is: Keep an open mind, be ready to work hard and visit the country you want to move to before you make the grave decision of uprooting everything! Things usually turn around and get better after 5 years mark- focus on upgrading your education if you have a basic degree from India (even you know how competitive things are in India, so how can western world not be!)\n\nBeing vegetarian- things are tough when it comes to food but living in Toronto has never been an issue. Even people living in India avoid outside food due to hygiene reason which is not a problem in Canada as food inspection is pretty strict (having worked with ministry of health). \nCities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, etc has variety of food options (including veg)…just have to be really open to trying other cultural food (Asian, Mediterranean, Italian,Mexican, etc). My parents are strict vegetarians and have never truly struggled when they are out. \n\nCost of living is definitely higher as the standard living is higher compared to India. Education (until grade 12) and healthcare are free (in reality, you pay tax for it), you get pension when you retire (based on your contributions and type of jobs you had)…you failed to navigate the system and I will say having family around is why you didn’t take opportunity to explore and learn on your own. \n\nPlease don’t come to Canada and make life difficult for other Indians who choose to willingly accept the culture and lifestyle here after going through this hardship- cost of living and housing has gone up dramatically in major cities because of immigration influx! If you’re serious about moving and putting up, only then move! Otherwise all the best for your future endeavours!

No country in the world says we are struggling, peoples are bad, they shows their eagerness, people will not work hard , everything you can earn in struggling dont blame to any country, all countries are good and all rulers of the country are good, they did not said to peoples not to work, work is backbone of every economic good country

As someone in his late twenties living in Quebec, I got to say this is very accurate. I won't say things are as bad as some other people are saying in the comments, but I do feel like the country is going downhill. For me, these are the main three things that feels wrong:\n\n1. We, as citizen, tend to offload every responsibility to the governments. Each election, they promise to handle more, but fail times and times again to deliver on their existing responsibilities. But we still vote for them, because we fear personal responsibilities. They created these immovable bureaucratic monsters and they lost control. They promise new shiny things instead of fixing what is already in place.\n2. We lost all notion of what is necessary. People gets more and more entitled which leads to overconsumption and frustation. Quebecers used to be proud peoples who survived with the little they had. Now greed has consumed our identity and nothing is holder us together.\n3. I feel that jobs are less and less useful to the society. Even I, as an electronic/software engineer, wonder if my job as meaning. I feel we lost touch with the concrete world. Some people have 0 contribution to anything useful and have really good salary and work conditions, while others bust their ass in shitty conditions. I feel like everything that we need is produced/done by a frighteningly small amount of individuals.\n\nBut from what I heard Canada isn't the only country to feel these. These problems have gotten a lot worse in the last 8 years. I think the main issue is immigration. We are bringing in more people than what we can deal with. I am not against immigration, but just like all the other things the current federal government has done, they are doing immigration wrong. They think immigration is good, so tthey open the hose fully to bring in as many as possible. This is a bad strategy. They should be bringing in a lot less immigrants and that would lessen the housing issues. I think that this is destabilizing our economy to the point where it could have a dire outlook on Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if some provinces leave confederation. What we need is a balanced approach to all things governmental. Not a LEFT or RIGHT solution, a BALANCED CENTRIC solution. Time to vote differntly.

I immigrated to Canada in 2010, and here are my experiences inside and outside Canada. I am grateful for a good education; having a Canadian passport opened up many opportunities in other countries to build a higher-level career. However, if I had known the amount of stress, health, and financial damage that I had to endure, I wouldn't have chosen to come to Canada. I would have remained in the US or EU countries where I could achieve even more without suffering to the level I did here. \n\nMisleading immigration promotion: The government-sponsored Canadian immigration program oversells what Canada can offer. It withholds information on the cost of living, chicken-and-egg problems like Canadian work experience is required to get a job at the same level as you are in, Canadian credit history is required to rent a proper apartment, Canadian education is required to secure a high-level job, etc. \n\nHiring process: I knew the Canadian system was not ideal for immigrants over a decade ago, but it got so bad now that even the born citizens are unable to survive. The Canadian government and employers lack a basic understanding that ambitious, high-achieving people immigrate to other countries for high-level positions using proper channels. It's ridiculous to see that Canada uses a point-based system to choose highly qualified personnel to enter their country yet expects them to pursue low-paying entry-level or labor jobs just because they have brown/black skin. At first, I thought having a Canadian degree and experience might help me get high-level jobs, and I didn't think how I spoke or looked would matter when I had high credentials to show off. So, I got my masters & Ph.D. from the Univesity of Toronto, which consistently ranks #1 in Canada. I have a bachelor's from a prestigious university in Asia and had a high-competitive, well-paid federal government job in another country. Still, none of that was recognized in Canada, and I had to volunteer for over 6 months, 10 to 12 hours/day, in a research lab that led to a funded PhD program. I worked even harder during my Ph.D. with many accomplishments, like 40+ research and leadership awards, internationally recognized scientific discoveries, and innovative technologies. I checked all the above and beyond in various domains (research, teaching, leadership, business, engineering consulting, collaborations, etc.). Yet, employers couldn't see past my race, gender, age, etc., and refused to give me the opportunity at the level of my qualifications. Luckily, I managed to secure short-term work in the UK & the US, and it changed even how I see myself. I was highly respected for my credentials, given higher positions than I applied for, and paid 3-4 times more salary and benefits. Of course, bias is an integral part of every society, but my race, gender, age, etc., were not as big of an issue to begin my career at the mid-career stage in these countries as opposed to Canada. \n\nHealthcare: Access to healthcare was another big challenge for me. When I moved to Canada in 2010, due to extremely low temperatures, I developed hives all over my body, my eyes got red, and I coughed for many months. The doctor said there was nothing wrong with me and refused to give me any medication. It took us years to get a family doctor, and we got one through my personal network. In 2015/2016, I developed an autoimmune disease, and my eyeballs popped out. As of today, I did not get to see an eye specialist as they have only 1 specialist in the area, and the waiting time is for years for the first consultation. Every time the family doctor told me that I had iron deficiency, even when I insisted that they should run additional tests and they cleared, they were flagged. The doctor never diagnosed my autoimmune condition. Luckily, during my short-term work in the UK, I saw competent interns who completed my care. NHS is poorer than the medical system in Canada... they are understaffed, don't have hospital beds after surgery, or don't have stock of paper gowns, yet the staff are highly competent and caring. Within 1-2 years, they did complete diagnosis by sending me to various specialists, completed eye surgery, and even found a lifelong condition that was preventing me from realizing my full potential. Following, in the US, the doctors confirmed the diagnosis of all the conditions within 1-2 months and put me on two small pills for life. It has dramatically changed my life, and I have even more admiration for the medical profession. While in Canada, I suffered for over a decade, and every time, I was treated as a hypochondriac and never given a single prescription. \n\nQuality of life: Big cities like Toronto are mainly affected by high crime rates, overpopulation, cost of living, low employment, low salaries, etc. A few months back, there was a huge auto theft, and one of my contacts lost their Lexus car within minutes of parking. Despite being a scientist, I have no faith in politicians or individuals fixing these problems. The salaries are not increasing, but the taxes and cost of living are on the exponential growth curve. The ridiculous part is that Canada expects you to pay taxes even when you are not employed or living in Canada! I lived in London and Boston, and they offer a much higher quality of life and pay. \n\nGrowth potential: No wonder Canada, being a G7 country, falls at the bottom of the list in innovation, equal opportunities, economic growth, etc. It has a decent education system but, due to its inherent bias in the hiring process and monopoly of certain businesses, loses talented immigrants and highly qualified Canadians to the US, the UK, and EU markets. Unless there is a dramatic shift in policies, Canadians, especially new immigrants, cannot expect any positive experience in Canada except for being discriminated against and losing valuable time and money by being there.

I'm Canadian and unfortunately everything in this video is accurately portrayed. The province in which I reside doesn't have it as bad as the ones mentionned in this video, and I can confirm that housing is still somewhat very affordable in a lot of areas if you don't mind a long-ish commute to the city when you have business there.\n\nStaying in a more rural area is fortunately a very valid option for tons of people as a lot of employers adopted telework permanently following the pandemic, but yeah essentially if you wanna live in an urban centre, good luck!

as an Immigrant, I'm done immigrating for now but I get taxed net net around 45% + HST + Carbon tax + Property taxes, for all these taxes, I get really not much back. I don't qualify for most services, I don't get dental, I don't need many either, but it is putting a lot of pressure on my entrepreneurship aspirations. The healthcare is truly atrocious and still need to fly for medical appointments by good doctors since doctors here are dumber for some reason. If you want to be an entrepreneur who owns a house, Canada is not your place right now. Worst of all is the culture, highly highly introverted in a bad way, cold people, bad social skills, boring conversations and everyone seems to be high on weed. I am glad you have found something to do as a hobby but if you were in the USA you would have 4X the disposable income (and I think we all would still be complaining).

100% bang on.. I've lived in Dubai (traveled to many other countries).. this is nowhere near being considered as developed anymore (GDP criteria is outdated)..Canada got developed and they forgot to update and even upgrade..!! The drug situation is so bad that I really hope that you didn't come across crackheads/homeless who are under the influence of drugs at all times.. No doubt there are way more homeless people in India, but they are working or at least trying in some way to make their life better and they never hurt you at least, here, it's the opposite, as they literally can do anything.. you can find them roaming all over on the streets of Old Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa.. You can literally find them everywhere.. someone commented earlier that you should give 2 years.. Bro or sis.. it's a complete waste as I am at the same point.. and on top of it when you invested 2 years, it even becomes tougher as it becomes even harder to go back as you have spent so much on furniture, house, car, tools, n all and most importantly - 2 YEARS of life. I left my pregnant wife and have been staying away from her and a 1-and-a-half-year-old baby boy hoping that we'll create a better future and can afford to struggle right now.. its been 2+ years.. Honestly.. I am still not able to figure out whether there is any future or I have spoiled my present looking for a future.. its a dilemma beyond explanation in words, with no relatives or anyone based here.. I've a lot at stake currently and that's the only reason I am stuck otherwise leaving this place seems to be inevitable.. \n\nI travel extensively all throughout and forget about expressways anywhere in Canada (Except 407 which has an insane toll rate) it's a 4-lane highway just 80 km from Toronto to the rest of 450+ kms to Montreal which are 2 major cities of this so-called developed country.. same is for Ottawa, the same hold true from Calgary to Edmonton, and any other major town/city!! on top of it, they are struggling to even maintain those (always under construction - even construction is a wrong word to use as they aren't adding anything new.... it is just being repaired in true words) Same is true with adding new infra in terms of hospitals or any other facility... Banking sucks.. Still dealing through the mail (Postal mail).. (Mails not e-mails). I simply can't get that.. the tax agency - CRA sends communications through the mail, and the same with any other agency.. Comon.. grow up is what I feel at times..!! People are literally not willing to work (Except hard-working immigrants), Govt. doesn't have any plans for the future regarding the economy and development... just bringing in immigrants.. that's it..\n\nYou've made a very smart decision and really at a very good time.. wish you, and your family all the best..!!

Well you just got to love how this world tries to justify what's going on and then the media talks all their dumb b******* what you just come out and say it we're overpopulated and the homeless is getting bad we pressed how we got to have many many many and all we do is appropriate and appropriate and appropriate now we got so many people we can't feed them all we can't house them all we can't give them the education they need to get paid the good paid jobs cuz there's too many of us there's not enough to go around it's just going to get worse it's called overpopulated but hey they press for years you got to have kids keep having kids well now half of them are on the f****** street along with the older ones that can't afford nothing cuz of all the hungry money mongers in this world that's got to have the top dollar for everything they do I want the best money I can get for my rentals yeah you're fat and rich and they're out on the street The only thing is you can't find somebody decent to rent your place cuz they all screwing you I've worked around it all and I've seen it all I guess especially somebody in this world will figure out oh we're overpopulated has nothing to do with some of the b******* stories I keep seeing on this YouTube but keep denying and come up with all the theories you can because if you're afraid to face facts it's called over population and it's going to get worse cuz there's too many of us why do you think everywhere you go anymore it's like oh I'm waiting for this waiting for that cuz somebody's in front of me or somebody's else is there first or when I went in the service I thought that'd be the only place I'd say hi hurry up and wait but no now it's throughout life everywhere you go sitting in your car waiting sitting at the grocery store waiting wherever you go you got to wait because there's too many of us and eventually it's going to destroy this earth cuz we're destroying it the beautiful earth getting destroyed by the human animal but no we're so smart we can do that yeah my ass we're doing it right now and we're doing it so easily it it just right in her face and no one can even think they see it blind what a joke human race is

1) Toronto is poor value. Getting housing of any kind (buying or renting) is stupidly expensive. And the quality you get for the price is lousy. Especially the newer builds, which are just thrown up as quickly as possible and sold to investors. Policy measures generally all seem to serve to just inflate the price of housing further. The occasional lip service given to affordability is amusing, but ultimately sad. There are lots of people who really do not want the housing bubble to pop. They will fight against it with all they have.\n\n2) It has become kind of boring. There is lots to do if you have money, but it’s harder to find entertainment on a budget. Even the free stuff like parks are filling up. Stuff like sporting events, eating out, going out is very costly across the board. Even the “cheaper” stuff is expensive. It seems like a lot of local culture is disappearing. Even the cool neighbourhoods are filling up with the same chains. I think the high commercial rent and bureaucracy is deflating a lot of would-be entrepreneurs. Most landowners seem to just be banking on cashing out their land for condos.\n\n3) Canada overall has a high cost of living compared to salaries. In the US you can find lower cost of living areas that still give you a real city experience. And in Europe you can be poor but still live a decent, if no frills, life. In Canada the basic necessities are all expensive. Phone bills, grocery bills, rent, insurance are through the roof. Domestic travel is expensive. And the dollar sucks if you want to travel abroad. Health care is free but good luck finding a family doctor or waiting 8 hours in the ER these days. It’s expensive to be poor, or even middle class.\n\n4) Most of the Greater Toronto Area, outside the core, is soulless suburbs with awful transit - very “American” except with worse traffic congestion. You will need a car, which is another huge cost. Row upon row of old cookie cutter suburbs with the same crappy houses. Good luck walking anywhere, and if you do you will need to walk down boring, treeless arterial roads with cars zooming past right beside you, and cross giant eight lane intersections that were never built for humans on foot. In a rainstorm or on a fall evening you have to be really careful not to be run over by aggressive drivers.\n\n5) It is hard to raise a family in an apartment here. You can do it but it’s not very easy, and also you are still kind of judged for it. Lots of young people are feeling stuck and are deferring or avoiding starting a family. Buying any type of house, even a basic townhouse, requires pledging your soul to a bank by taking a massive mortgage with eye watering debt in a volatile market. But few apartment buildings have the kind of sensible gentle density, the family unit sizes and the common amenities, like little courtyards with jungle gyms, that you might find in Europe. No one ever contemplated that anyone would ever desire to raise kids in an apartment. It’s just a cultural thing that has worked its way into how things are planned and designed.\n\n6) The transit system is ok by North American standards but awful by international standards. There are only two real subway lines, one stub line, one line that is permanently out of service after a derailment, and another line that was supposed to open a couple years ago but still has no date for opening. The subways go out of service frequently, sometimes for the dumbest reasons, and then it is a zoo of shuttle buses. The streetcars are nice but so slow. The buses are fine if you find yourself dreaming about riding a daily herky jerky rolling tin of sardines. They are building a lot of transit but it will take decades to get done.\n\n7) There is still a lot of cool multiculturalism and opportunities to experience different foods and cultures - one of the best things about Toronto. Increasingly though it seems to be losing the fun vibe of the 90s, when everyone celebrated each other’s backgrounds and was chill. It seems the immigration is not as broad based anymore and also people are importing a lot of their “old country” grievances here. The immigration system also kind of preys on people abroad by selling them a false fairy tale, so they end up dejected when they arrive and see how things really are.\n\n8) This one might be controversial but it’s kind of an ugly city. There’s nothing particularly of historical meaning or value. Some of the older neighbourhoods are kind of nice, but the last 25 years they have only built giant glass skyboxes, one after another. There aren’t the cool “missing middle” walkups like in NY, Chicago or Montreal (or even LA). There are very few buildings with much architectural character. Some of the buildings they deem “heritage” here are an embarrassment.\n\n9) For safety, honestly on this score I think Toronto is not bad. There are not too many real “ghettos” and it’s night and day compared to much of the US. With that said, there is more vagrancy and social issues these days, with tents and such. It’s very sad but the shelters are full, lots of homeless go into the libraries, parks and transit system. It does make it harder to enjoy these public amenities safely. It is nowhere close to Europe where you might let your kids run free around town. Canadian parents still helicopter their kids and the place again is not designed to really be safe for kids, in the same way as Europe.\n\n10) Finally, a bit of a double edged sword. Toronto had a lot of youthful energy - people coming here from all over. It is definitely not as sleepy as many parts of the world. With that said, it is becoming a bit of a transient place (minus the world class experiences like London or NY). If you are from elsewhere you might find it hard making and keeping friends. I’ve seen lots of people struggle because it’s is hard to build a strong social network. We have a very “shallow” culture here - people are extremely polite but not overly warm and hospitable. We treat one another kind of like neighbours - meaning we’d like to have a cordial, drama-free coexistence and otherwise kind of stick to ourselves.

Housing costs,inflation are not just a Canadian issue. I am old enough to remember when interest rates went through the roof in the 80's and people lost their homes, and jobs were hard to come by including for my family. But things got better and they will again. For those who came here and were welcomed into the Country, and now want to leave, its probably for the best,for them and for the Country, They were not happy in their home Country, moved here,now are not happy here and want to move again. My parents were immigrants,they stuck it out through the good and the bad.

It’s been 5 years for me here and I honestly can say I have achieved nothing in my life yet. It scares me when I think I can’t return whatever my parents had invested in me. The fact is you’ll never have a good paying job in Canada being an immigrant. When I say this trust me I mean it. Most you’ll get is a minimum wage job which can make you survive the life here. Taxes are high definitely and what I feel is you’re working to make someone else’s life easier. \n(P.S: people who’ve stayed in Canada will understand who I’m implying to)\nNo one wants to be your freind, scope of socializing is zero coz mostly it’s cold round the year so everyone hardly come out, especially in Northern provinces like Yukon, Saskatchewan, Manitoba.\nHealthcare is a joke. If you feel sick and not well and you wanna see a doctor be prepared to wait for hours and hours. I once had stomach infection and I had to wait 5 hours till someone could see me. I asked for painkiller at-least so I could bear the pain but they refused that as well. You might well see someone you love dearly and with whole heart die in-front of you and you could do nothing. (I’ve experienced it myself hence saying)\nYou’re a lone survivor who’ll always keep fighting. \nThe only person who can make money here is businesses and high paid jobs which are reserved to Canadians. That’s how Canada’s job market is. Canadians’ first and if there’s something left they’ll look at you. By the amount of money people invest here they can establish a nice business back in their country itself and earn accordingly on own terms. \nMost importantly you’ll cut yourself from all emotional supports like family, freinds etc.\nI was social person back in India who liked making new freinds and memories but it’s nothing like that here. \nAnd it’s the same life, no different.\nYou wake up, dress, eat, go to work, come back, eat, sleep. No different.\nNo fun and nothing. You actually don’t live in present, you live in an expectation of a better tommorow.\nYou’ll always have a smile when you greet someone but I guarantee you no one’s gonna check on you to if you don’t start a conversation even with a simple “Hi”. Mostly Canadians are nice but again some will systematically judge you and say nothing but you’ll see in their actions, the way they’ll talk in a twisted way etc.\nYes I’m not saying that Canada’s bad or it’s no good but trust me it will take forever to build a life here especially with the number of people moving here from round the world. \nIf you’re well off financially from back home Canada’s a paradise for you. Indeed it’s a beautiful country with lots of beauty and lots to explore but remember everything comes with a cost here. Everything comes with a cost. People need to stop believing in this fake illusion and come only if they got a purpose here. The only reason why they’ll let you in the country is for money and once you’re in you’ll have to keep spending, doesn’t matter if you’re broke or whatever you have to.\nOnce I earn I’ll happily give up my PR status and go back to India as i very well know what the situation is how it’s gonna be in future.\nSo just one piece of advise to every middle class person like me, guys please invest and spend your money wisely coz we know how hard it is to earn and it’s high time Canadians start appreciating what immigrants like us do for them by burning ourselves day and night and start realizing that their past generation once came from some other part of the world as well and settled here. Wehre do you want to go? To Europe where are uncontrolled asylum people comming without criminal record checks and sometimes without a passport and getting free monthly money from the governments. Where the payments for skilled worker are bad, and you have to deal with a unfriendly rude sociaty. Even higher taxes. I'm working here as a comercial plumber and im happy here. I had to beginn in the industry as welder because I had to learn english. After 3 years here I'm speaking good english. One thing waht is enjoying that I got permanent Residence last year in summer and we are waiting since may 2022 for or regularly childernbenefits payments. But the CRA are on the way to fix it now finally after many phone calls and sending the permanent Residenc cards 2 or 3 times in. Lots off them how are leaving couldn't make it.

People think of Canida as great. Wide clean open spaces, Free Heath Care, No Trump but a lot of people either don't follow threw or realize quickly that its also snow and wolverines and bears and higher taxes and learning French. Im shore all places have bad and good, but I feel like people are rushing in with out considering all possibilities. You may enjoy the Hocky and the moose and the pleasant locals but it snows in October and the sun stays out after midnight. Our Health Care system is broken. We have very bad doctors and insane wait times. Our Health Care is tax funded and it's impossible to sue the hospital if they misdiagnose or mistreat an illness. When you pay for your doctor you will get the best care. Not up here though. One thing per visit and you must see a medical clinic first, if you can get an appointment. My last 2 visits were 14h wait times, and that's at the biggest hospital in BC. \n\nWe don't have free speech. We heavily tax our poorest people. Our gas is over $2 a liter. Food is very expensive especially at fast food places and restaurants. \n\nOur internet is third world at best but with some of the highest data costs in the world. \n\nWe have a run on our borders and our infrastructure is bursting at the seams. We put the needs of other countries before our own. Could be a good thing but not when helping the world is making it harder and harder for those born here to actually live and thrive here.

My husband and I lived in Columbus, Ohio for 12 years. During that time we had two babies, but we had insurance so the price tag wasn't too bad, overall. We made good friends there, all different political views but we got along well and it was great. We lived in Ohio both pre and post 9-11. I definitely noticed a difference in the growing patriotism around us. Even pre-9-11 there was a higher level of overt patriotism than I was used to in Canada. For instance, more people had flags in their yards or America-themed bumper stickers than I was used to in Canada. But post 9-11 patriotism grew immensely, and we started to feel like political views were starting to have an effect on friendships. Also, Ohio passed a conceal carry law (firearms), and I found my awareness that anyone around me might have a concealed weapon unsettling. In Canada the only guns anyone I knew owned were hunting rifles, locked up. But suddenly I had to worry about if there were guns in the houses that my children were visiting. As a Canadian, I just wasn't used to the idea of everyone having guns around. Anyway, we overall enjoyed living in Ohio. The cost of living there was reasonable, the people were friendly, and we only moved when the real estate bubble burst and my husband lost his job. We went back to Canada and, honestly, I've been relieved to be back as I watch the news and see how divided the American people have become. Even some of the friends that I had in Ohio have changed and become a lot less accepting of different opinions. It makes me scared for the future of the US, and the effect it all will have on the rest of the world.

The Truth is the developed countries have lots of opportunities to offer only if you go with the right intention. The problem with we Africans we like short cuts in everything. I’m a Kenyan American and this is my two cents….Moving abroad for better opportunities is actually not a bad idea but people need to understand that you need the right papers and an actual skill to make it….I’ve lived in Europe, America and the Middle East over the years, the hard pill to swallow is all this places will give you a job depending on the kind of passport you carry. I’ve had the same skill and the minute I got my naturalization and finally carry an American passport…there are job offers all over. My African peeps get yourself a good skill and become very good at it….that will get your foot through the door

I have been in Canada for 22 years and I cannot imagine people saying Canada is bad. You have to get skills and get a good job. Whether in Kenya or in Canada there’s always people that are not happy. First years are hard to settle but perseverance pays!

Sadly everything you shared is pretty accurate. I got got followed to my work place by a stranger I met in the TTC streetcar. He proceeded with attempted to assault me in the building of my workplace. This left me traumatized for months, thank goodness I overcame my fear of riding the TTC. On the question of rent, it’s insane it actually may force some people to stay in bad situations just so they can maintain the living conditions they are accustomed to like staying in toxic relationships or terrible roommate situations…etc. I did get very lucky, moving in 2022 from living with a roommate to living on my own in a bachelor same area and really nice area in Mimico by the Lake for a rent of only $1400. Simply because my landlords are an old couple not greedy at all who prioritize having a good tenant over making extra cash but having to deal with different tenants every few months just because people cannot sustain the increase of living in Toronto plus paying their bills and rent. So there is hope, if you can find a landlord that has these values you won the lottery. I’m hoping things change for the better in Toronto, there’s no reason why the city cannot tackle all these issues in a more efficient way. But like sometimes I think of moving to a smaller city and if it weren’t for my current rent which is very low for the time we’re in, I would have moved to a cheaper province a long time ago. Please don’t mislead people by saying “don’t move here” because of rising rents. Just because NY has even higher rents/COL, does it make it not an attractive city to move to? Rents go up with demand, which means more people want to move to Toronto. Just because your rent went up doesn’t mean it’s a bad city. Prices in rent is crazy only greedy are living here now only care about profit. There use to be good landlords now its bad nothing gets fix n the landlord dont care only about kicking u out n increasing thw rent. Diversity is our strength. Think of all that we gain from being home to the best of all that is available from these diversified cultures. Think of all of the worst that we also gain from so many of those diversified cultures. When we import people from all around the world, we import, along with all of the good, all of the bad. What is culturally and morally acceptable in a great many of these foreign countries, is NOT acceptable in Canada. However, our accepting liberal society has a solution for that, we simply change to meet the ever moving social and moral target. This is why our Prime Minister gets away with stating that Canada has no national identity or culture worth preserving, since we just accept and then change to suit.

There’s no doubt Canadian would do same things to the homeless people in our society, but the same things are not needed by our homeless people.\n\nAs most us know, most our homeless people with mental illnesses and hard bad addictions. They are not capable to make right choices for themselves. But it’s not safe and right for making choices for our homeless people even with our good intentions. As in the past happened so many governments and metal health institutions abused their power over the venerable people.\n\nThe key is the whole country specially the federal government should determined with provincial and municipal governments and many social groups to solve the problems together. To provide the nice, attractive, safe environment places for the homeless people. It would cost more than supporting the refugees and without returning, the refugees after settling would pay back as tax payers. But it would cost much less than mental health institutions, prisons and the damages they cost to the communities. And providing better environment for the people, businesses and communities where the homeless people live now. Most importantly it is our responsibility for the homeless people and the communities where they live.

And, here I am not knowing why I immigrated to Canada from India amid this chaos, but, I feel safe and secure that I atleast have an option to return back to my home country and live a peaceful and fulfilling life whereas these people who are born Canadians have no choice and have to suffer. It's pity what their own people and government did to them. Also, why are the youth so much into drugs and bad habits??? I mean, it is not good when the younger population instead of investing their time and energy in the better of the society have to do such horrible acts to further increase the homelessness.

Im Canadian from Northern Alberta. I travel often to the balkans often. Every time I come home i see how bad it is here. People work so hard for very little. And the extras people have is wasted away. Then there is the nanny state aspect, it is not just from the government but the citizens as well. Which creates a atmosphere that makes community building seem impossible. \n We hit the apex 10 years ago. And it really is time to leave. \n Health care?\n My friend had a botched back surgery, he nearly lost everything. Waited over 6 months for mri and other tests, treated like garbage. Now in Belgrade Serbia. You call for a mri you get it the next day for 100 dollars. \n Things aren't as good as the people believe they are. \n Modernity is killing the human connection, but other places still have it. And it is refreshing to see it.

The United States government needs to take care of the American people. I don't understand why we don't protect our borders more. It's okay to accept people into our country we have always done that but when people get together and storm the borders and we get criminals we get everything else included because you always get the good and the bad. No country is perfect by any means I have been to other countries and couldn't wait to get home. I love my country. There's too much corruption there is too much disruption between the parties. We used to be respected now other countries just laugh at us.
