You mean Justin Trudeau‘s response not Canadians and certainly not mine. This is an underhanded way of taxing the people nothing more. Levy and tariffs against the United States in retaliation has little to no effect in a positive way but it will hurt Canadians in a big way Even more than Trump‘s tariffs will have you forgotten that our current trade deal that Trump hates so much was actually created and signed into love by him? Trump has damaged relationships between our countries that will take a long time to repair. I did not vote for Trump and I wholeheartedly accept that Canada has to respond strongly to his harmful, stupid tariff policies. It’s going to hurt us all.

As an American tariff china absolutely tariff Mexico sure but tariff Canada I’m not so sure about that. Canada is a critical trading partner. Trump is obsessed with trade deficits. Canada is a country rich in resources with the population of California. They have a lot to offer but a small buying power there’s obviously going to be a trade deficit. Trump hates the trade deals we have with Canada and Mexico. But wait a second that was his trade deals he made with Canada and Mexico during his first term. He said it was a great deal when he did it! And the stupidest thing is none of these tariffs are going to reduce the fentanyl if anything maybe 1% or 2% less.

Canada's Tariff applied to the United States will cause some price inflation, price increase, for a short time until the United states establish compaines to produce the same good and services that were tariffed. Once goods and service producted by the United States exceeds the Canadian goods and services that were tarriffed, the prices will come down. President Donald Trump did this to grow United States and Employment and cause price deflation over the long term. Hopefully Canada has the resources to do the same. As a Canadian I am shocked that very few Americans seem to care at what Trump is doing to their country. It's not the tariffs on all of the US's former allies but that he has dumped its allies to appease Trumps good friend Putin. I am looking at dismay watching the US go from being the leader of the free world to just another dictatorship run by billionaires, America is Russia. Remember, it's not just Canada that is responding to Trump. Mexico and China are also responding simultaneously to Trump's idiotic tariffs. Mexico, Canada, and China are America's biggest suppliers of materials crucial to the American economy and are huge markets for American goods. If Trump thinks he can fight all of these countries at once and not have America receive grievous damage, then he is more deluded than we thought.

Born in Europe, brought up and trained into my profession as a researcher, in France, in the UK, in the Middle East, in Africa, and having been a permanent resident of the USA for almost 25 years, I can state that I agree 100 with what Trudeau stated, with the exception of one little detail If Donald Trump is as Mr. Trudeau suggests, an intelligent man, than he is simply detesting all Americans... and if is able to prove me wrong than one has to accept that Mr. Trudeau is wrong in believing Mr Trump to be an intelligent man, because even a ten-year-old is understanding that this tariff war is truly stupid and will not only damage the economy but will further deplete the coffers of businesses that are essential to world growth.
