Cash, do you ever bring up positives (the truth) or solutions when you report on the mayhem in NYC.\n\nThe US needs Immigration reform badly and there was a shot at it but was voted down in Congress. It may have not been enough but could continually be modified as necessary. It truly would have cut down on the numbers coming in while still fulfilling the US' need for Hospitality,Produce, Meat Processors, Construction employees.\nOnce we get some up-to-date legislation, we coordinate with other countries to assist in maintaining and mitigating the flow, per our Law.

There's no chance that these people will be able to afford apartments at legal occupancy numbers even if they get a job. If they provide housing, the should provide it in a cheap location far from NYC. That policy would be a powerful disincentive not to come to NYC. However, ICE needs to do its job, and the Northern border states need to send out the National Guard, put up cameras, razor wire to easily accessible places and arrest people for trespassing on private land and bar cabs and buses to transport people without them passing through immigration.

Bringing more people to Canada is very selfish we Canadians need to be taken care of first you have homeless Canadians that need help and this should be number one and food and housing not bringing more when you can't even take care of your own. Put Canadians first

Im not sure why the person said 'Canada cannot control the number of refugees coming in and claiming asylum '. Why not ?? It's a policy matter. The policy is old, outdated and needs an overhaul yesterday.

The ratio of men to women is also insane. I have noticed there is way more uneducated men coming in and a lot of them are not culturally accustomed to Canada when it comes to how to behave. The amount of times I’ve seen them in groups hanging around the playgrounds or joking about kidnapping / r@pe, following women, its crazy. Or even posting ads for rooms to rent but as a male requesting only females. \n\nWe are moving out of a city we love because they are driving up rent prices and taking jobs. \n\nI’m not against immigrants or different cultures being here but there needs to be some sort of better application process and smaller number of them coming in at a time.

I am most certainly in the minority here, as a Canadian. There are a number of things is dislike about the USA; I hate the political climate(but the Canadian one is turning into a dumpster fire too), I dislike how separation of church and state is not existent and how in some states religious beliefs influence policy to infringe on personal rights of everyone, and health care is shit if you don’t have money or a job that traps you. \n\nBut I also love that individual states have more rights than our provinces. That means you can find a state with values that fit yours more so than finding a province. I, personally, would find a state in which I was allowed to carry tools to defend myself(Canada does not allow self defence tools at all), and I would find one that values personal autonomy. \n\nIm definitely an outlier in Canada and the USA. Let me have my guns, don’t tell women what they can do with their bodies, make sure the poor have healthcare, and leave me the hell alone. I’m neither right wing or left wing. There’s are aspects of some places in the US I love, and some overall national themes I don’t. But I wouldn’t move to any other country than the United States. I hate the bad, but I can see the good despite what our media tells us. However, the system is beginning to collapse, and the average US citizen needs to see it.

This gov't can't do anything right. That's because they have a different agenda about immigration than what it's supposed to be. Initially, the Canadian gov't would take in a certain amount of immigrants per year based on the needs of the country. All immigrants were vetted from those that applied through the proper channels i.e. LEGALLY. Canada needed certain types of workers to fill a need in a certain industry, it would prioritize those newcomers with those skills and education. But now, it's a free for all and it has nothing to do with industry nor economic needs. It's instead all about the numbers of voters that are likely to keep the Liberals in power. That's it in a nutshell. It's all about power and control. Same thing with catering to special interest groups. The gov't cares nothing about hard working middle-class taxpayers. And if this creates divisions among Canadians, too bad as long as it fills their purpose of staying in power forever. And they do it by lying and using political correctness and punishment for speaking up as a threat. Canadians are now accused of 'racism', 'Islamophobia' and 'xenophobia' if they even question the issue of immigration. It's all a political game meant to keep the politicians in control, well fed and wanting for nothing while the hard working Canadian is stressed to the max trying to make ends meet.

Problem with Canada is not immigrants or the large number of immigrants, its the quality of immigrants which they are not able to attract, ideally they should attract the best of the best talent in whichever industry they needs human resources, and they should also cap that person or individual to work in that industry for atleast some number of years, before switching to some other type of job or business. Rather they are bringing any type of immigrant through any type of route whether job or education from around the world to study and work in their country. Its a total debacle for both people who are going to Canada and the native Canadians who are facing the heat.

Colleges used these students as mules. Since last few years now they have been diploma printing machines printing diplomas for students who can not even speak proper English. Similarly these students need to understand that their parents taking loans to send them here does not guarantee them a path to PR. They are here to STUDY not WORK. I am not sure how they are given admissions into colleges when a large number of them cannot even speak in english or understand what is being taught in class. Are they faking IELTS tests as well? Where are all the checks?

Am I missing something here, Im not sure about open door anything, if you want a job you need to have work permit, if you are old and not eligible for working/holiday visa you need a visitor visa and look for an LMIA approved job ONLY, while already Canada, jobless, as a visitor, IF you get the offer its only then you can apply for work permit and after you got it then they hire you. is that how it usually goes? Or you have tens of thousands of dolars for a college you get study permit that enables you to work too. So, I dont see how is immigration to Canada easy and I have absolutely no clue how Indians and rest of the gang do it in such large numbers. Do they all just come on visitor visa and hope for the best? what about accommodation, money?

My friends from India been here for over a decade says too many Indians. I came over in the 80s from Germany rules were you needed a big bank account and buy a farm that needed to be run as a farm for a set number of years

I think what Canada needs to adopt it’s a quota on the number of immigrants coming in from each country. Open it to everyone based on the same point system we have now, and once’s those openings are full for India, Italy, Thailand etc… that’s it you’d have to wait till next year that the quota opens again. This will allow a more diverse immigration and minimize the xenophobia that come with having huge numbers coming in from only one region

Canada is not produce enough babies to pay taxes and that's why we need immigration. Essentially, they are finding ways to exploit their entry into the country, unlike my parents who had to wait patiently for years to come to Canada. I belong to an ethnic group. In the 1960s, when my parents immigrated to Canada, only a limited number of people from our ethnic group were allowed in. My parents were compelled to assimilate into Canadian culture to make friends. I had hoped to marry someone from my own ethnic group, but there were few eligible women. Therefore, both my brothers and I married Anglo-Saxon women. While I take pride in my parents' background, I do not live in a segregated community of my own kind. Instead, I reside in a mixed area and have no intention of bringing over 100,000 people from my village back home to Canada. Canada needs to restrict immigration until we get a handle on our housing and social services levels. Also, not all new immigrants should be allowed to move to Toronto or Vancouver. They should be sent to live in provinces such as Saskatchewan or Manitoba for the first 10 years. I am sure they need skilled workers. Also, would be forced to assimilate like my family did back in the 1960s because there would not be a massive enclave from their own culture in one area. Also, the reason my parents moved to Canada was their former country was Balkanized into different ethnic groups that exploded into a massive civil war. Canada might be in danger of that in the future. Certain ethnic groups don't tolerate certain policies that have happened in Canada. When they get to a large enough number all hell will break lose as they will have to culture and political power to fight back.

Alright. The median age in Canada is 41years. That means in 20 years, majority of the population would be close to retirement, which also means that if a younger population is not 'brought in' it would be disastrous for the economy. That being said, the government can limit the number for people immigrating from certain countries. If you need more Europeans, you need to create a social support net better than Europe. Its purely logical. \nIf you do not want more Indians, you limit the number of Indians coming to Canada. Its simple. Hating them for who they are doesn't help. And same goes for the foreigners - In Rome, do what the romans do. It takes 15% of immigrants up to 20 years to realize they've been duped and that the cost of living in Canada is too expensive? I'm surprised that the number of immigrants that choose to leave is not a lot higher, and that they don't do it much sooner. Those with marketable skills (doctorates, degrees, etc) are told by Immigration Canada that the country needs people with their skills. However, it's only AFTER they move here that they find out their foreign credentials are worthless in Canada. It's all a big scam and IC should be ashamed of themselves for selling would-be newcomers a bill of goods.

Why do they come to Canada, if not for the benefits? Why do these countries not set up their own Universities, where former international students go back home and teach their country and students what they learned here. It would be cheaper for them, and they can stay in their own country. But, they don't want to do that as they see Canada as the country of opportunities to bring their whole extended families here. We are already facing housing shortages, and don't need any of this type of opportunistic citizenships. They need to drastically cut the amount of foreign students allowed in. This year they are allowing 485,000 students. This does not take into account the students who are in high school or those studying for their master’s or doctoral degree's. In total it is 552,000. Then add on the Immigrants at 485,000, illegals or asylum claims( which is at record high numbers, could not find the figures for this year), then the migrant workers which are estimated between 700k to 900k. This is all too much. Drastic cuts need to be made, and this government that allowed all that to happen needs to be ousted out.

Indian population 1.4 billion , most if given a chance, will migrate , so the world needs to wake up and either come out with a quota system for high population countries etc otherwise the migration numbers will never come down , only going to grow

Thank you for educating Canada. Most of these students are not at fault but unfortunately, they are trying to stay in Canada. We need to control this immigration problem. The strain on housing and the medical system is out of control. I truly believe that the Liberal government is trying to destroy the country. They are unable to do basic math. The school is not responsible for monitoring the number of visas given out. It is the government that allocates the visas. Embarrassing that they are blaming the schools. New immigrants dont integrate in Canada or Canadian life. The priviledge of going to school is for study not PR. Its not a back door immigration program. You dont go to any other country and make demands or protest. Few if any go in the needed trades so time to go home. The numbers are unsustainable and its killing communities with housing and jobs as well as limited resources like healthcare and education. Governments and post secondary have failed Canadians who have had enough of paying the price and need borders closed. Clearly somewhere along the line these students are coming with false promises and expectations. With housing crisis if Colleges and Universities cant house all those they bring over on campus and provide the housing then higher caps to meet who they can house. Failure to do so close them down. Most communities are in emergency state for homelessness so of course no sympathy or tolerance for protests. Schools are for study only not a back door.

This has been going on for thousands of years of the colonizing of a country. Newcomers to Canada are colonizing Canada and local citizens are being asked to step aside for the newcomers need room to move in. Insanity that this man is allowed to stay in Canada after the havoc he reaked. The government has welcomed in 1.2 million people from January 2023-2024. We cannot sustain those numbers, and even more disturbing, our new immigrants are from Asia and East Asia, and Africa, not from other countries off the world. We don’t need people like you encouraging more immigrants to come here, when we can’t afford the average 600,000 new immigrants per year that has been forced on us since 2015.

Many of these students were sold a bill of goods by various people who promised more than they should have. As our PM has stated students coming over has not been the issue, but having temporary workers come over has been. What had been traditionally 2% has been 7% plus. This is what needs to be reduced, but in most of these cases no one wants to do the jobs they have, such as fruit picking. I find some of the comments here as being offensive, don't need more Tim Horton workers. A number of these individuals are here for PR first and schooling second, this needs to tighten up. Your rant is counterproductive, and just puts out more hate, when we need to stop the hate.

There is nothing wrong with BALANCED immigration from MANY countries. The situation here is that these students come only from ONE country and the number keeps growing exponentially. We need an cap on immigration from India.

Thanks Trudeau, soon enough we will be able to walk across lake Ontario, just like the Ganges. Based on survey 25 % are Indians that 375,000 additional Indian nationals over 2 years. If cap is not placed, Canada will lose it diversity. We do need Quality over Quantity.

yes, the immigration minister will simply boost along the citizenship process as a way to address the numbers they allowed but couldn't manage or get continued support from canadians for. but during lockdowns ei requirements were dropped to minimal numbers with a min rate of $500 per week extended to 52 weeks. the mass gutting of the ei fund is staggering.. maybe that explains the dedication to increasing the carbon tax, oh, and the need for other ppl to fund it along with our youngest generations, as you pointed out. that part makes good sense

Indians work hard and they educate themselves. Look who’s taking over the restaurant industry in Ontario. Look at the number of doctors, IT professionals, engineers and other professions. Indians, especially Sikhs, are heavily involved in farming. We Canadians, and I’m a third generation Canadian, have become content and lazy. Most of us won’t put in the hard hours on a farm or restaurant or the hard hours and dedication to become doctors. Like it or not we need immigrants. And when Poilievre wins the next federal election you can be sure he understands what immigrants bring and how vital they are to our aging country.

The politicians who put this in place are the ones that we need to hold accountable. There's no way that this amount of people coming is not deliberate.\nWe are LIED to about the number of people coming, there's no housing for the people that live here.

There needs to be more cultural training for the officers. And Sikh punjabis are everywhere around the world in a large number. So expect to see them more.
