I saw it with my own eyes in 2019. I was locked up in Colorado. I watched them raid construction sites hospitals. Numerous other businesses arresting hard work in Mexican people. Imagine all the nurses and workers at hospitals that are from other countries. I watched them arresting nurses. Arresting tab drivers Uber drivers. I watched them raid schools and arrest children. I watched them put these poor people in jails with real criminals. All the immigrants loved me. I was actually in a federal and ICE facility. So I literally saw all of the immigrants. I protected them from the racist white people. I'm from Tampa Florida, so I'm used to the jails and prisons being majority, black guys. But in Colorado, it's white supremace, gangs and Mexican gangs. What's even more sickening? Is people from Washington would come in and take some of the Indians out. And when they came back, I would ask them questions and they said that the government people would get information on their family back in India and see if they could pay 50k to stay in America. It was sickening. I found out that what they were doing was deporting. Poor people and the people that have money back in their country. They have their families send money and let them stay. I saw it with my own eyes.

Immigrants, both documented and undocumented, commit crimes at a lower rate than natural-born US citizens. That is a statistically proven fact, and it makes sense considering that if we speed, we could get a ticket. If they speed, they might get deported. It was announced today on the news that the Trump initiative to deport all illegal immigrants will cost up to $1 trillion dollars. That’s a lot of moolah. Which will come out of our taxes. And the tariffs that he went on and on about. Companies aren’t giving out bonuses to workers for end of year. Because they have to save money now because Trump will impose tariffs on incoming goods. The workers didn’t understand they assumed the cost would be paid by importers. In reality, it will trickled down to American consumers who have to pay for goods. Economists have been saying during the election this is a bad idea.Trump tried to do it the last time he was in office and it didn’t work. So people be aware you think you can’t afford things now wait you won’t be able to afford anything. PS the government has nothing to do with price gouging for food and they don’t set the price for gasoline or electricity, etc. ????

I have a house behind me that was defunct and the owner purchased it about 4 years prior with an intent of demolishing it and building a new home. It is only now - 4 years later - that they are finally allowed to build, since the city and other people around stopped them through permitting applications countless times. The only thing I had to say about it was that if the construction causes direct damage to my property - then pay for it; if not, then I should have no say in this at all.

I then received a call from someone who said he had just moved here from India and needed a parking spot. I explained that parking spots here are rented on a monthly basis. He said that was fine, but he wanted to first pay only for the days from October 24 to October 31, and then he would pay for the following month. I thought that was acceptable, so I agreed.However, on October 31, he didn’t make the payment as expected. When I asked, he said he would pay on November 1. The next day, when I hadn’t received the payment, I followed up, and he promised to pay the following morning. By noon on November 2, I still hadn’t received the payment, so I messaged him again, but he didn’t respond. It was only later in the evening when he finally replied, saying he no longer needed the parking spot and that I could rent it to someone else. Then i asked how to deal with the rest of the payment of these days for the parking he already used, no reply anymore. At that moment, I really felt deceived. Why so much like getting smart with others?

Immigrants have no option to get success without hard work and skills. Therefore, immigrants work harder to get skills and success than the privileged native Canadian youth. You say that not worrying about health care since it comes from your employer or you can buy your own. I hear horror stories of people taking an Ambulance to a hospital for it to be out of network. Even if they planned on going to a Hospital in network the doctor was out of network. There are even times insurance companies that refuse to pay out and try to find any reason possible requiring legal action.

In Canada, there is not enough housing and jobs are scarce, especially for anyone at the entry level or basic wage. We've been absolutely swamped. This is not the fault of the immigrants or the students, it's the fault of our extremely stupid and short sighted government. Most of those immigrants I encounter are good people, polite and considerate. But some, well I understand where the complaints about rude and inconsiderate behaviour come from, because it only takes a few bad experiences to get people angry. I've experienced it myself, but most of it (from my experience) seems to be from students who are very loud and impolite on public transit. The housing situation here is INSANE, prices are sky high and very little to choose from. A lot of seniors now can only afford to rent a room (after having worked all their lives and very little to show for it), and prices are up about 50% from only 5 years ago. The government says inflation is a fraction of what it is in real life, and living expenses have exploded. As I understand it, some people made a lot of money offering services to bring students and low wage workers in, with no consideration to the damage they were doing to all of us who were born and raised here - they wanted to make their million dollars. Another problem is that once someone arrives here, what they find is NOT what they were led to believe. What students and immigrants are told they need to live here is an absolute lie, living here in Canada has become very expensive. Many workers are severely under paid, and never even see the legal minimum wage, and the problem with that is, almost no Canadian will be hired on to those jobs - the reasons are that imported foreign workers will work below minimum wage because they are trapped here, and the Canadians already know that they will only struggle if they take jobs that pay so poorly. So yes, a lot of Canadians are VERY angry, and you really can't blame them. Once again, the Canadian government is responsible for much of this, and crooked employers who are willing to take advantage of low wage labour. It's an absolute mess.
