It takes 15% of immigrants up to 20 years to realize they've been duped and that the cost of living in Canada is too expensive? I'm surprised that the number of immigrants that choose to leave is not a lot higher, and that they don't do it much sooner. Those with marketable skills (doctorates, degrees, etc) are told by Immigration Canada that the country needs people with their skills. However, it's only AFTER they move here that they find out their foreign credentials are worthless in Canada. It's all a big scam and IC should be ashamed of themselves for selling would-be newcomers a bill of goods.

Used to be if you wanted to come to Canada you had to have a certain amount of money! I think that should be the case as well as also educated. Australia had a point system and its very hard to immigrate there, we should have that too. Lets stop dumbing everything down! Immigrants come and they come from 3rd world countries and they then offer their serves at lower standards. I used to house clean, I was a single mom with 3 kids and I made a good living. I lost a few jobs to NANNIES who were hired to take care of kids only and before I knew it they were cleaning the house and I was let go. Now those nannies could have just looked after their kids. They didn't even get more money to clean the house. Screwed me out of work and gave them selves more work without more pay! I see it in the Massage Therapy industry too, they post rates a lot lower than the going rate! Janitor serves, truck driving, all are being dumbed down and lower quality! Franshises all being bought out and having major health issues with food quality...dumbing it down to their country of origin!! Im so sick of it all.

This international student thing has always been a popular pathway to PR status in Canada .\nThe government actually did promote it thought it a good idea to have young people after finishing their education to stay in Canada .\nIt was not a promise and not all would be excepted though \nObviously the policy was good for the schools but the government never considered the impact on Canadians cause they couldn’t care less .\nThe constant lie has always been Canada has too many jobs and not enough workers.\nThe recent 30 billion hand out to foreign automakers to set up EV factories proved what a lie that was when the government was willing to spend 3 million dollars to create one low skilled factory job obviously hard up for jobs .\nThere are videos on the net showing line ups of hundreds of people to try and get a job in a grocery store stacking shelves.\nTrudeau has destroyed Canada and most likely he will be gone but don’t expect the conservatives to be any different.\nPee Pee has never said he would slam the door shut in fact his only criticism of the Libs immigration policy was that it was taking too long to get people into Canada .\nCanadians are stupid they always vote in governments that screw them over time after time on all levels of government.\nThere is a party that would slam the door shut but they only got 2% of the vote in the last election.\nSo 98% of Canadians are stupid and they really deserve the country they have created for themselves.\nThis just didn’t happen recently it has been going on for years seriously where did Canadians think we were going to put all these people ?

We have pretty much very similar challenges in Australia. I would say living cost is even higher than Canada. But the good aspect is the weather. In Western Australia we enjoy over 300d Blue sunny skies and in Winter although rainy, we seldom get below freezing temperatures. So i don't need to worry about damaging my LFP batteries for my Offgrid solar system.\nAnother benefit is the bike path network in WA is extensive. You can pretty much get to anywhere on a bike, riding mostly on a very nice and safe bike path. I cover 60km every day travelling to/from work on my ebike. And it takes less than 1 hour for each trip.\nCrime rate has been getting worse though. It is fuel by drug use. So if people go out especially at night, you definitely need to be highly alert and watch your 6 o'clock. One can get attacked for no obvious reason and very commonly from behind. ???

I have lived in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and now Alberta. Toronto was beautiful in the 60’s and 70’s then it started to change to what is now overcrowded, expensive and crime ridden. I would not choose it anymore. Winnipeg, Manitoba in the mid to late 80’s was lovely. People were polite especially in winter, when driving was challenging, friendly and it is very cultural. People would say it would be the best city in Canada if it was in the mountains. Now I live in Edmonton, Alberta a dirty city with a council that puts high priced, unaffordable recreation centres ahead of services that would benefit everyone. Now they want to increase the population to 2 million when it can’t afford to sustain the existing population of 1,568,000. The taxes this year have risen to 8.9% and house prices are expected to increase 6.5% for an average price of $458,000. I lived in Calgary, in the Fish Creek provincial park area close to the C-train and a good bus service to downtown. 45 minutes from the mountains and Kananaskis, great zoo, vibrant downtown and if it is not much more expensive than Edmonton and is ranked 7th best city to live in worldwide. To compare the 2 cities, Edmonton tries to be world-class but just doesn’t have what it takes. The people seem to have very little pride in their city, the parks are a mess of weeds which also grow wherever there is green space and they very possibly have the worst and rudest drivers in the country. Very sorry if this offends anyone.

Sometimes just quit never know why customer is behaving that way try to clam , they scared up their life that’s why behaving crazy they didn’t give time to family responsibilities and not grateful that God gives them , always try to nice with them try to take care souls if they need I believe that’s why God bring Indian in Canada never do discriminate to them always try to do good karma it gives you peace ✌️

Being an Indian living in India I can tell you one thing that mostly people who are not 'good enough' in anything pay lumsum amount of money to move to Canada. For instance, most of the students going to Canada for study, lack foundational knowledge that should've been taught to them at school. Take a GRE-like exam by randomly selecting Indians residing in this area and u will understand what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, the current Canadian govt knows this and capitalise on this problem as they have turned the education system of Canada into a money-vending machine. Furthermore, no skill development opportunities and lack of jobs intensify these problems as these individuals are never exposed in a multicultural urban setting. That is why likeminded individuals aggregate and live in silos. Lastly, for my Indian brothers and sisters, I would like to say that yall should try to assimilate with the culture rather than live in silos. That doesn't necessarily mean yall should abandon ur religion and culture, but try to participate more in various activities associated with Canadian culture. Like Im a Hindu, but I participate in Eid & Christmas as well in India.. We should be open to new experiences, especially when moving to a foreign country, one should be able to adapt.. just like one adapts to the weather, one should also embrace the culture.. Try talking to people who are 'non-Indians', have a genuine conversation, find out the history of the place and various other key milestones in the region.. mostly engage in amicable social behaviour. Holding grudge & closing doors to new interactions would not solve anything, neither for Canadians nor for immigrants.. Live and let live.. Cheers!

As an Indian these so called students were dumb to leave India where growth is taking place and go to Canada, I think in long run it is good if a few get dissed. The stupid fascination with western country is purely dumb. \n\nSome even have a lower pay in Canada then India, and the leaving conditions and white collared workers becoming blue collared. Makes no sense. So yeah Canadian should do as they please.

Who said they don't want to go home? Canada invites international students with a promise to give them PR if they can finish school and qualify using one of the programs. I know because that's how I came to Canada. Unlike the US where it's hard to stay and you need a marriage, in Canada you can use a qualifying job. Usually people sponsored by family to get PR, as well as refugees, are put ahead of international students as well as those on work permits. \n\nIn the meantime, International students over-pay into post secondary, as well as working off campus and paying taxes, but are always last in line when it comes to being granted PR. The rules change so much so fast, it's easy to find yourself out of time and kicked out of the country. \n\nSo whoever watches this will be happy that International students are getting kicked out, but the problem with too much immigration won't be solved because the country is still taking in so many refugees. Right now it's international students getting the axe and are the scape goats in ths game. \n\nAlso, the reason why Canada takes in more immigrants beyond the obvious, is because they want to eventually do away with property rights. So while people can cheer kicking out international students, it doesn't prevent the inevitable from happening, because the politicians took in too many new people.. \n\nAnyway, good luck to everyone, from either side of this debate, it's bad news all around wharever the final outcome.

So Canada gives them a nice gift and a helping hand and now they demand the store become theirs. Send them back and let them try getting in legally with skills we need. Canadian sons and daughters can pour coffee as their first job instead. Enough is enough. Canada has to take care of Canadian citizens first. I am a normal good hearted person and if we need coffee pouring people then fine , just apply in a legal way with a background check to know what kind of person we think of letting in for any job that is not filled by a Canadian.

To the point where sheets of plywood were you couldn't find them and they went up 100 times and price. Solo's hundreds of billions of dollars that the government's going to take back and taxes from us all draw the cost of housing through the roof. Instead of at the time redirecting half of those two it was 500 billion take a half of that investment in putting it into infrastructure technology innovation for industries. Our education systems from kindergarten through to postsecondary education and spending it on the Canadians that were here. We've turned our post-secondary institutions in Canada into diploma Mills where you know your VA and your you know postgraduate degrees or you know they're worthless. However the government and the education system grew into a very profitable industry grinding out worthless degree after worthless degree for foreign students who thought when they got these degrees with 50% of Canadians have. People have to realize that post-secondary education is a big business so they're going to sell you a dream that's going to cost you a lot of money what I suggest is when YouTubers want to do something on Canada do some proper research let people know that we really do have quality post-secondary education system but you have to look at when you graduate those jobs going to be there to pay that large salary does White collar jobs are disappearing almost gone I purchase an app for my company with small company about 10 employees this inexpensive app alone has taken my office staff from 7: to 2: I have a 10 Red seal tradesman tradeswomen these 10 highly skilled trades people earn between 125 and 145,000 a year in gross salary and I need five more of these highly skilled people and I can't find them cuz everybody's running in to get a useless postgraduate degree. I do find it slightly offensive that a lot of new immigrants new Canadians immigrate to Canada to purely exploit it for its wealth Canada should be looked at as a place to come put your hard work in the struggles the ups and downs? and look at it as your home instead of you know a piggy bank but people are going to leave and there's a long line up to get in I've seen in my 40 year career you know three major reps and three major downs. What's happening in Canada's economy and the economies around the world it's all the same the US economy's doing quite well and talked to last couple of weeks friends that have invested their and families have been there long-term at present the United States is building a war economy so there's money pouring into that effort it does have a booming you know Hi-Tech boom as well however the tech boom is offshore with American companies and it's taking place in a part of the world that no one would think it would take place so if your graduate in the tech industry go online do a little research you'll find out where it is the USA is building a huge chip factories I think they just poured in 70 or 80 billion dollars we're in a transitioning economy don't get discouraged put your head into it do your homework find out where these new jobs are coming from which jobs are not going to be here. Traditional White collar you know middle management upper management jobs they've been gone for years everyone's think of themselves as an independent contractor. Also if you're a millennial or was a gen z person there's going to be a massive transfer of wealth over the next 20 to 30 years as baby boomers simply die off and then you guys are going to inherit their money I live in any one of the g7 economies I just got to find your niece with your qualifications and get in there and innovate because there's not one g7 country that significantly doing better than anyone else another interesting part of the world is East Africa I'm retiring there in 5 years I've already done my homework I've already got partners I've already started to train up people there in East Africa Canada and those parts of the world they have East Africa's great basic infrastructure so now that they've got their first level base of infrastructure a second economy is built off at the service that basic infrastructure that basic infrastructure allows for that second layer a bigger layer of investment you know and that's where the real money is for mid-level investors and you know highly educated Young westerners have got 10 years into their respective careers and these are also very beautiful countries you know so you can if you got family in Canada family in Europe India Asia you know you can start building networks collaborate on projects you know in these you know emerging economies you know mid-level economies but that's you know a good 20-year grind to get good at your career and build your confidence to go into these places and get these things done also you know it's a great life adventure but never expect just because you have an advanced degree that the door even come knocking down your door to employ you if you're going to wait for the opportunity to come to you you're going to be waiting forever you got to take your advanced degrees get out there and hustle and work hard man Canada's doing fine about four or five years it's you know it's going to take off next level and it's going to boom for 40 years and it's never going to get any cheaper in g7 countries Amy's emerging economies his pockets around the world they're starting to come up to in the window to get into these emerging economies with your advanced degrees it's closing if you don't make it if you don't start looking at it in the next 5 years your degrees are going to be gone useless and if you do decide to put your career in these emerging economies like Asia South America Central America Africa do it for the right reasons not just for money we don't want to make the same mistakes as like the industrial Revolution where a few people get rich and the people in that country you know don't get anything have respect for these countries employ their people and you have to get into these places before all the big corporations get set up there cuz they're they're going there Canada's a great place as a great time free medical system and I urge anybody that's feeling down or depressed in Canada you know to go get some therapy join some clubs talk to people don't get down and mostly don't you know don't give up on yourself you guys made it through you know Elite post-secondary education system and if you can if you can do that I mean you can you can do anything a lot of hard work ahead truly best of luck to all you guys

I got a chance to get shifted to North America 24 years ago. By then I had reached a CXO level job in India and that company gave me a choice. I decided it was good in India, and my salary went up as the years went by. In USD terms I might have got lesser than in NA, but in purchasing power, I got more, I think.\n\nThen India's growth after Y2k happened and I got other jobs, and participated in stock options with start-ups with dynamic founders (India has a decent VC-PE network now, especially for technology people). 5 years ago I decided no need to work and be on my own, doing stuff I always wanted do, but income was more priority. Today I realise most of new wealth is being created in India: new ideas, new services, products, delivery systems, etc: all being thought of in India. Why go abroad, except for a vacation?\n\nToday I have a fairly substantial net worth that got created through those wealth sharing jobs and I realize when I visit NA, that I would never have got this, not unless I had been there for a long time, and certainly not in Canada - that's pretty clear.\n\nToday, India is the place where wealth is being made. If you have a product or service that is successful, or are a part of such an enterprise and get to share in the value creation (that's a risk, not a given, not guaranteed), India is the place to be. And by going out of India, you are taking a risk, this is no different, except we know India in our blood.\n\nIf you are entrepreneurial, or have the risk taking capacity to work with an entrepreneur and share his risk with stock participation, there a great probability you will do very, very well in India.\n\nThe biggest upside: YOU are now developing India!

The crazy thing is that some Canadians still have faith in Trudeau's party or just have too much trust in the government that they can turn this around. I want to see this country prosper but every few months I just keep on seeing new policies that the current government makes that just doesn't make sense.\n\nFew things to mention\n- No more investment in more roads by the federal government (I understand they want essentially to have citizens use cars less but they haven't provided a plan on how that money would be invested? I have yet to see trains being invested to connect cities such as High speed rail?)\n- Increased carbon taxes (most premiers were against this but they negged it on)\n- proposal and voting for Increasing taxes on capital gains (impact business that invest in Canada)\n- This is a positive thing but also happened because they polls went to the dump (increased investment in housing) and then decrease foreign student admission for future years ( I think this is where liberals say they have hope, but it's at a point where they messed it up and now are trying to fix it to make it look like they are fixing someone else's mess\n- The government is also just adding more policies we can't afford such as Dental plans for certain incomes, food in schools while the free health care doesn't really feel worth the taxes when the quality is not there. ( This is how they want to be the good guys when the conservatives need to cut costs to help resolve this mess)\n\nThe liberals are kind of like that guy in the family that takes a loan, pockets some money for corruption, then gives money away to charities saying I'm the good guy, and then doesn't know how to pay the loan back so asks for their family to help fund the debt.

Take a good look at San Francisco , Portland , Baltimore , and LA Downtown before judging Canada.

I don't agree that North American cities are all ugly just like not all European cities are all that beautiful. Go to Rome, Naples Athens and you will see how dirty and run down these cities are. And no Vancouver is not nicer than Chicago.\n\n I think the mindset here in Canada especially Ontario is not the best. Everyone is all about going to work and just isolating. In Europe it's much more vibrant. People want to go out and socialize a lot more. Here it's basically work and home. Not much else.\n\n If things were good here economically all these points would take a back seat and most people would tolerate them. But when rent is $2000 plus. Wages are barely going up etc..etc..than everything else starts to grate on you.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. You need to find out why our doctors left and who caused it.?the same people who gives drugs to the addict. I'm Canadian and I don't recommend coming here. I wish I stayed in Taiwan. Also, were you rejected by the US? Many people end up here if they don't get into the US. We don't have the housing, healthcare and education etc to support more immigrants. It can also be really hard in the US if you don't have a higher income and health insurance. If you have the latter, you're ok. I have retired American friends in MI with decent income and health insurance and their health care experience is good. But no health insurance in the US isn't good. Canada's public health care has long been dying. I don't know why we're taking more people in when our systems can't deal with it to begin with.

We have the same problem. I actually like the people, but….somehow, immigrants have managed to have been able to acquire the vast majority of retail jobs in our area. How is that possible? There are businesses and fast food chains with not one white person working as an employee. I spoke to a former worker that was at one of these businesses for years and asker her WTF happened? She told me that the company hired a new manager from India, within 6 months, half the staff were Indian, local students were not being hired for part time jobs, only Indians, by the end of the year, every single employee was Indian. \nShe along with other quit their jobs because….not because they’re racist, but because not only were they being treated differently than the now majority brown workers, but they were being made to feel excluded because…the manager and the new staff all spoke a different language, they would all work together in a group not speaking English at all, saying things and laughing making it pretty obvious that they were making fun of the white employees. The “manager” would ignore the white staff’s complaints and he would then seemingly punish them by giving them less hours, change their duties and give “the good shifts” to the new brown people to the point where the white people were made to feel alienated as well as cutting back their hours leaving them with not enough hours to make a living. “This is Canada Mother Fecker” these people need to speak our language when they’re in public or at the workplace with “Canadians” or…employers should fire them. I will note, that the A&W that this happened at, has changed not only by every single employee being brown, but the service is not near as friendly, they all speak to each other in a different language behind the counter.. the seating area is not even close to being clean, the tables usually are left with trays and garbage that aren’t being cleaned as customer leave. It so bad sometimes that I literally have to pick a dirty table and remove the garbage myself because every available table has not been cleaned….and the bathrooms …. I don’t even want to talk about it they’re so disgusting. And when you complain….they turn to other employees and speak a different language… so we have no idea about WTF they are actually doing or saying about the issue. “ Thank you Sir, we will take care of that.” And the next day…it was the same. I’ve stopped going there along with everyone that I know…our work crew along with our families can no longer support such a dirty, rude and disrespectful business.

I was born and raised in Canada and in my 60’s now. I can’t afford to live here anymore, healthcare has declined, personal safety, fuel costs, insurance etc. most of all our politics are a mess on all three major parties. The Liberals are a royal mess and inflation went through the roof. They’re just running around like the 3 blind mice making fools of themselves. The Conservatives are involving themselves in a right wing romance with fascist trumpianism and think poutine is an ok guy. The hate speech is unreal. We used to be a real chill country. I have young 20 somethings telling me they think Communism is a great idea and they would rather fight for poutine if a war breaks out. Well it’s their future not mine. The AI, bots and trolls on the internet are telling them what they want to hear in order to stir up hate and entitlement. The NDP (New Democratic Party) is neither here nor there, they’re kind of always the minority and swing both the other two parties to divide the vote and gain some form of temporary power. \nI’d like to see a politician that has the balls to stand up to the dictators of this world that shit disturb in every continent because they are such little insecure bastards that they think they can conquer it. I’ve got news for them. Every single dictator in history has failed… miserably and often brutally. We need the kind of leadership in our Country that can produce good governance. I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? This is not the Canada that I came to as a child, grew up in, or have lived and worked in for many decades. I made the mistake of working around the world for a short time and picking up an accent that wasn't even mine originally. I had a Canadian accent before finishing elementary school. To come back to be asked to go home or 'we don't want your sort here' is not just simple racism, but hatred that makes me regret ever having agreed to taking on Canadian citizenship. My kids and grandchildren have Canadian accents and were Canadians from birth. But should they leave and return to the same crap??? What disgusts me more is that the PM dares to include immigrants with refugees, under the banner that 30% of the population are immigrants. Under the law, refugees are temporary migrants and usually nothing more. To bundle immigrants who came to Canada through legal means of applications, brought hundreds of millions dollars into Canada with them of their own hard-earned money from their own countries, to have it taxed out of them, and their families deliberately put into poverty so Canada can fulfil its 19th century-PM Macdonald immigration policy of, and I quote from a Canadian federal government website, quoting PM Macdonald directly, about breeding out the Indigeneous people, is beyond sick! The refugees get a free ride at the expense of hard-working Canadians, 90% of whom came from immigrant stock! What happens when Trudeau says these deceitful lies about legal immigrants is that the racism and discrimination increases dramatically. I have been left in agony in hospital due to evil racist Canadians who thought that my accent meant that I had just flown in yesterday and what right did I have to be there? Police refused to charge a neighbor whose son was threatening the life of my grandchild because the neighbor works for the CRA! Other people have the same complaints. Democracy? Canada used to be a good country, but when a person has to keep explaining where they got their job experience from and if they have any Canadian experience for every time that they look for a job in their lifetime in Canada, something is very wrong with Canada. Most jobs in Canada are blue collar and very few are white collar, yet Canada still continues to deceive the world into believing otherwise. Canada is a great vast and beautiful land, but only a small percentage of it has any infrastructure, roads, or homes sufficient to house what is a decreasing fraction of society. Refugees take preference over immigrants and citizens alike. The lie about the homeless is getting bigger. Most homeless Canadians today are veterans, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, poor, and professionals and trades people, yet Canada brings in countless professionals, claiming that their education and experience will get them into the professions that they are coming from. It's all a scam! Canadian education is not the best and yet people with better educations and job experience are being forced to spend all their money to go back to university or college to get jobs that they rarely will be hired for. Canada is not short of doctors, just short of professionals who hire professionals without using discrimination, hatred and racism for their HR kit! Many taxi drivers are doctors, engineers, and so on. So, please stop lying to the world and tell the truth. And no doubt this entry will be taken down because it offends a Canadian who doesn't want the world to know the truth.

This lack of access to health care is a new thing. I agree with your assessment. It now seems lonelier in Toronto. \n\nCanada used to be different because anyone with a good job could afford at least a condo, but life became unaffordable not just for immigrants, but for everyone unless you are in your 50s-60s and own a home. \n\nI have friends working double jobs supporting family back home in other countries, but for some of them the family back home sound like they are doing better than them and own a home. It’s like they are sacrificing their life to be in poverty or full of hardships and their families get to go out for dinners and drinks with friends. Not them. Not true for everyone, but for some yes and I worry about their own retirement because retirement in Canada without lots of savings means you might be homeless or forced to live with family even if it’s not your preference. \n\n without investments and savings, it will be hard to beat inflation. Getting into debt and getting bad credit can mean not getting an apartment. \n\nThe birth rate is going down because it is expensive to have kids and income isn’t enough to match with living costs. Getting help from government is really not something everyone gets access too. One person might get housing support, 10 others may get nothing. Different governments offer different things. Programs end and change often. \n\nIn Canada definitely bargain and shop around for good phone plans. one idea is to get a pay as you go until “Black Friday” then every year or two when your good offer expires there will be many others. It’s the time with the best deals saving almost half. For instance, I have 50 gigs for $25 for two years from a large provider. Telephone companies are the one place where people must bargain and even ask for better deals as a must.\n\nThe people you see living in big houses, will have kids that can’t afford the same. This is because prices keep rising. The system protects the very rich, but will also drain the middle class often within 1-2 generations. Do not link your business to your personal finance, or creditors can take your home. Some not knowing this lose everything and rich people know better. \n\nPeople live until they are very old, so inheritance is pretty much meaningless to rely on, so no matter what your parents have you must hustle in life. \n\nI do think Canada can become what we want over time. Citizens need to fight the trend of great community spaces, restaurants and bars going out of business and dumb corporations move in with bad boring restaurants. Like a McDonald’s where maybe a popular cultural hang out was. \n\nPart of the problem is a lack of mixed income housing areas, so it’s hard to stay living where you grew up. Artists and musicians help make a city great, but many cannot afford to live here.\n\nFamilies and communities staying together means more support for those with young kids and older relatives when they need help. Yet how is this possible in a city that is always pushing out lower income people when wealthier people desire the area. \n\nIn Toronto, every time you move you have to take what is available and that might mean moving an hour away from everyone you know. This weakens communities. Plus, if you live too far from your work you will have no time to socialize for most the week due to travel time. \n\nI think those who grew up in Toronto do have a certain culture of acceptance with others from many cultures, because your friends at school were from all over. But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. Canada is awesome, of course it's not perfect, but it's a fabulous place to live (if you can find affordable housing)! Our healthcare is phenomenal and maybe even too good. Medicine is intervening where it shouldn't and probably extending lives that shouldn't be extended. We have an aging population because our birth rate is low. But people need to take responsibility for their health. Most of the inflammatory diseases we all suffer from are preventable and our clinics are congested with people with very minor ailments who likely wouldn't be there if they were paying out of pocket for the visit. Gay marriage is legal, we eliminated the penny, we finally banned single use plastics, we don't throw money at space exploration or on our military, one year maternity leave, the Canadian Pension, the old age pension- so many government programs, everyone has access to free healthcare and it took a little too long, but we have MAID, we'll help you die if you're sick so you don't need to suffer. And where I live, we legislated out daylight saving time back in the 70's cuz it's stupid.

It's not a housing bubble. A bubble is when investors overvalue a commodity. Even taking into account speculative property purchases, housing isn't overvalued in Canada. It is where it is because that is where the market has found the balance between the high demand and the low supply. There simply isn't enough housing being built to accommodate a million more people a year. We need to build more lower and middle-class housing. As a student of both history and architecture, I can tell you we've been here before and we dealt with it, and we can again. This situation is both a result of many factors that could and couldn't be centrally controlled. Things that couldn't be controlled: Covid and a spike in retirement rates, an aging population, low profit margins for builders, and inflation (that last one is not so easy for a central bank to control as many people seem to think it is). Factors that could be controlled: Zoning laws and bylaws, linking immigration to the amount of housing available and being built, government greed for foreign money to balance their books, short-sighted politicians of all stripes, underfunding of post-secondary education, and lack of government incentives to make building worthwhile for contractors. I've probably missed some things, but the point is that this is not an intractable predicament, and good leadership, good ideas and the will to make things happen can get us out of it.

I truly believe this all revolves around the housing crisis. Not enough housing can be built. Canadians with options are not taking low-income jobs. It's not a survivable wage anymore. Canada's #1 GDP is Real Estate. Potential first-time home buyers are not willing to throw themselves into a lifetime debt for a weak economy. \n\nSo what does Canada do? Fill these vacancies with immigrants. Not inherently wrong, but it's a band-aid solution to temporarily pump up the numbers. \n\nImmigrants, specifically refugees are taking low-income jobs. Speak Arabic? You can easily fill your job positions for minimum wage. Just like mafia tactics in third-world countries, the government takes their passports away and they must fulfill their duties at a very low wage and very high cost of living under threat of being thrown back into a potentially war-torn country. Came to Canada as a Dentist? Doesn't matter, you need to climb the ladder again and in the meantime work as a Receptionist making minimum wage.\n\nImmigrants with money are obligated to prove themselves. Buy housing, start a business. Numerous cities such as Brampton are being filled with slums. Housing a double digit of residents in the basement at absurd costs so the landlords can afford their ridiculous mortgages and lifestyle off the back of other immigrants/refugees.\n\nThe main issue is the hate directed towards immigrants. First of all, in the video it was disgusting for the man to acknowledge that someone was wearing good clothes and asking where the refugee center is. Someone can be a refugee and still have money. That's the ideal refugee. Someone with money in a war-torn country such as Sudan are high targets and completely deserve to run away to a safe country like Canada - especially if they can afford to spend money and stimulate the economy.\n\nStop attacking the people. If I was Prime Minister. I would Ban the immigrant Visa program for the next 10 years. I would deport anyone who has overstayed there welcome (those with expired visas) or are here (illegally) and now (not documented) \n\nThat alone would take many out of the shelters, homes, rentals, streets that should not be in the Country anymore. Doubling and tripling the time served and raising bail fees by 50% to keep folks that have criminal pasts off the streets <---- for first time offenders. \n\nFor those that have multiple offenses. Quadruple the jail times and put bail amounts 100% more then what they are now. \n\nGive those that kill, ra*e, torture, (and things along that nature (the death penalty) \n\nI would remove the mandate for Electric Vehicles for Canada. Where only 1 vehicle per manufacturer would have to be Electric. So if somebody wants it. It's there but the majority would be. Gas / Diesel etc. \n\nI would build more housing / schools / retirement homes / hospitals / recreation centre's / Library and walk in Clinics. \n\nI would write a law that the roads in Canada must be fixed properly. Not just patched. \n\nI would raise the taxes on Multi Million and Billion Corporations and those that make $400.000 or more to pay a higher tax. While those that make less than $400.000 get taxed less. \n\nI would Lower the provincial taxes by 2% effective immediately and the Minimum wage across all provinces would be $17.75 an hour for full time workers (over 32 hours per week) with .25 cent yearly increases until 2030 to be reassessed. \n\nI would give Tax cuts to those who want to open businesses and build and sell Canadian Products to make sure Canadian Goods are affordable to make. Still have a profit to slow down overseas production creating more Canadian jobs for Canadian People. \n\nEvery Worker that works 24 hours or more weekly is getting Benefits making it mandatory for all types of business owners to make benefits available to the workers and ensuring the plan covers a minimum of 50% throughout the entire year. \n\nI would raise the pension to those who have worked 25+ years in Canada and remain in Canada as a retiree for a minimum of 6 months of the year 5% \n\nShrinkflation will stop. With major corporations getting fined if they don't smarten up and change the way the make and package goods. \n\nI would put a cap on Car insurance for those that have never been in an accident before and lowering the monthly cost by 10% \n\nCondo sizes would have to increase the square footages by a minimum of 10% of the national average to make sure that there is enough room and peaceful environment for those that live in those spaces. \n\nI would ban that you would have to pay additional for parking at every Rental property including lockers, that the property owners purchased during pre construction as well as lower the public parking costs nation wide in parking garages by 20% and cap it. \n\nI would Lower transit costs nation wide by 20% and cap it. \n\nI would bring back texts books and paper to schools so kids read more. Write more. Understand more. Learn more for those in grade 8 and under. \n\nI would ban every Pride event in Canada and charge people fines if they hang rainbow colored Canadian flags anywhere on any property including ban clothing with those colors on the Canadian Flags immediately. Failure to do so would also Ban same sex marriage the following year on the same date that the first ban was made if Failure to comply. \n\nI would ban any book or literature for kids that is LGQTB written. \n\n& that is just the beginning.

FOREIGN STUDENTS ARE Not here to get a high quality education and then take their skills back home to contribute to and build up their own country. Being a foreign student is a facade. It's solely to get your foot in the door and show Canada that you are a good boy & working hard and ultimately get a citizenship. Then step two is to start the process to bring your parents and siblings over and step three your grandparents and as many extended family as possible. Paying and providing social programs for people that haven't been contributing into the system for a lifetime is not sustainable!

Why you are always attacking the international students? We pay rent, taxes, CPP, tuition. We are the best students and most brilliant people of our own countries. We didnt come here for food, most of us come from wonderful countries with better weather beaches etc. We are here to contribute to this country as a new adventure while our intention remains returning home one day. Rest assured that many other countries offer better living conditions such as cheap university kitchen where you can eat and not worry about the meals, dorms just a few meters from classes etc. I tried one week applying in indeed and I got 6-7 job offers so there are plenty of jobs around. Look at the photos you are posting, most are from africans who came to canada illegally from mexico-us route or ocean-Quebec ships. Why dont you count millions of Ukrainian who are here taking your taxes and most of them doing nothing not even knowing English! They should bring skilled Inmigrants with a career path to ensure they not ended up taking advantage of EI and welfare as many do . Fed up of lazy people coming to Canada to abuse the system . As an immigrant myself who came 12 years ago I had to work 2 jobs and study at night French to be able to adapt. When I came I already had a university degree and then did my masters degree here in Canada . At the end it pay off I had a good job now. The main requirement for people coming to Canada should be an university degree at least as in the past . That shows you are able to learn and adapt to new things plus you have knowledge about a specific field .

I migrated to Canada more than 30 years ago, and about 20 years plus, I was offerred a very good job in the US, and the company offered to apply the green card for me, and as a single parent with a young child, I do not want to take the rise; moreover I wanted my son to have a French education, that he could get it free in Canada. When looking back, I regretted for not accepting the offer; but on the bright sight, my son had all his Canadian university education on scholarship and currently he has moved and living in the US.

The scariest thing that could happen in Canada is when doctors and nurses leave Canada and move to US for higher pay and good quality of life. What if healthcare aids leave Canada too and move to US or other better countries that supports them , who will take good care of our elderly? In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions and the various other benefits, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. Good. No need to start another life of bad jobs and no need to experience the British empire way of thinking: Canada is the greatest, we are the best, we help everyone, .... i keep hearing them Canadians being self-obsessed and self-consumed (at work, on the bus, etc)........ it's tiring, and it needs to change. \nPlus doing and saying all the things they're not supposed to say: everyone is weird except them. Plus the govt site info - mostly a lie. and yet,.they did admit Canadian tech (programs you use at work) is old, like back in the 90s and no research taking place in any area: medicine, IT, etc..........nada (it was in the news 1, 2 yrs ago).\nCanada is all about serving your customer and serving your boss, serving the banks (bills, etc) - and if you're dumb enough to get a credit line....... you're .........f'ed.. nada mas.

I hate to disagree to most comments on this Video. Canada is still one of the best countries to live, work and raise your family. As a pakistani immigrant myself, having lived in Dubai, Saudi, and UK, I still find Canada easily the best overall.\n\nWhen it comes to hardships, yes you must have a positive mindset to survive in Canada but ofcourse you pay the price of living your Canadian dream. \n\nIf you are a couple with a household income of 10K take home, you can still live an extremely good life in Canada. But again, its a game of patience and perseverance. Canada is not for faint hearts and negative minds. \n\nGod bless us all

There is no point of leaving India for Canada. I understand you need to be highly competitive in India to get a good paying private sector job.Indians with its highest growth rate can be entrepreneurs and have descent life than misery of Canada . India’s urban infrastructure is a cause of concern as it is governed by corrupt local bodies . If the Modi govt. take over them for atleast cities of over 1Million lots of people will completely avoid going out. India need to develop infrastructure of its 6 biggest cities on par with western nations.
