I have been living in Canada for over Half a Century. The Times have certainly changed over the years. I am a citizen of this great country and raised a family here. Agree Food Housing Rents etc have skyrocketed like most countries. Economic times have changed over the years and Canada needs Leadership to encourage our younger generation of a better tomorrow waiting for them. Keep up the good work at WION

Property tax and car insurance make it near impossible to retire in Canada. I Australia You pay ONLY 20% of THOSE CANADIAN PRICES. AND WHEN YOU RETIRE YOUR, BILLS ARE REDUCED SUBSTANTIALLY. AND WHAT IS THE REASON WHY CANADIANS DONT INVITE YOU TO YOUR HOME. THE ARE HAPPY TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE BUT NEVER make an effort to initiate or return the invite.

The Canadian dream is now to leave Canada. Congratulations.\n\nAs someone who works in Finance, this is a logical decision to make... specially if you are rich.

It is not fair to blame canada alone, canada is the backyard of usa, while the usa is declining, canada can't make exceptions
2024-02-08 0
Because Canada is America without the flair, with the very worst of european restrictions, with the most pompus LGBT community situated there, behind Seattle.

How many non Indians would immigrate to India for a better life?\n\nIn context, even today, millions of non Canadians will immigrate to Canada for a better life.\n\nI moved to Canada two years ago from India and it was the best decision ever.\n\n@wion Offer proper context when reporting. This news is so biased. When you compare apples to apples, Indian is no better.

They’re leaving because they have to, because they’re on student visas. And government of Canada change the rules for them. And they’re not applying for pr or citizenship because they can’t. Not because they don’t want to.
2024-02-08 0
The headline is wrong. These people they interviewed are not permanent residents. Therefore they can’t apply for citizenships. They interviewed these Indians who were international students. Who come here misrepresenting themselves in their visa applications. Pretending to be students but come here to work and stay. Canadian government put stricter rules on them to crack down on bogus immigration consultancy and colleges that exploit these students. This news segment is not 100 percent clear. It is true there are pr or naturalized citizens of Canada that leave the country to move back to their home country or move to another country but not all are Indians.

Canada has sooo much land but like the man said, it stopped housing development 30 yrs ago. Everyone is concentrated in a few cities when they can develop more land. Citizens should get priority.

Mass immigration is destroying our country. Rent and food is completely unaffordable. We cannot accept anymore immigrants in Canada. Enough is enough.
2024-02-07 0
Earn in Canada maybe Australia, but spend in India. In Canada, you cant buy shit for 20,000$ but in India you can live LUXURY life for 2 years. Choice is EASY. *INDIA IS BEST* Pr in Canada CITIZEN OF INDIA

I will be leaving Canada this October. A country where its citizens cant afford home, food, or basic necessaties should not be called developed country anymore.

2024-02-07 0

CANADA HAS CHANGED... and not for the better.

Canada reputation is as bad as America.

I hate to disagree to most comments on this Video. Canada is still one of the best countries to live, work and raise your family. As a pakistani immigrant myself, having lived in Dubai, Saudi, and UK, I still find Canada easily the best overall.\n\nWhen it comes to hardships, yes you must have a positive mindset to survive in Canada but ofcourse you pay the price of living your Canadian dream. \n\nIf you are a couple with a household income of 10K take home, you can still live an extremely good life in Canada. But again, its a game of patience and perseverance. Canada is not for faint hearts and negative minds. \n\nGod bless us all

As if Canadians couldn't see that coming years ago. Canada has belly flopped hard.

Canada is another word for scam.
2024-02-07 0
No one in their right mind would choose Canada over the United States.

I pray no Indians come to Canada ❤️ we don’t need Canada where terrorist organizations is funding the political parties who are in power and Indians are in threat or targeted in Canada.

I don't plan on retiring in Canada so feel free to turn Canada into little India........my retirement stretches further elsewhere in the World.

Canada sucks under Trudeau.
2024-02-07 0
I was surprised how cheap things were in Canada. But that’s probably also the reason people are suffering. People are paid decent wages but the currency is very weak so it’s not that much.
2024-02-07 0
SOME BELIEVE CANADA IS CURSED. THEY ARE RIGHT.
2024-02-07 0
Lol, BBC is trying to put a spin on the problem with Indian nationals abusing our systems and being told no more by the Canadian public and policitians. These people were the ones working the diploma mills to get into Canada. Good riddance. Stay in India

My brother, an American, married a Canadian in the early 1990s. He LOVES Canada. If I didn't have family dependent on me, I would move to Canada. Surprised anyone would want to leave Canada unless forced out.
2024-02-07 0
I live in Canada. Its a disaster.

Irony to see BBC doing news on Canada ?. Clear out the log in your eyes first?

People who come to Canada after receiving their PR struggle way too much. When you apply for a job here, they require you to have 1 year of Canadian working experience. How does someone fulfill that criteria if they've just landed in a new country? The government should instead open PR for only blue-collar jobs, which are actually in high demand. The whole immigration program otherwise feels like a scam. You shouldn't be getting any points for your educational and professional qualifications in the application when, in reality, it's not going to help you afterward. Most of the people I know here are planning a relocation because they don't see themselves owning a house anytime soon.

Canada shouldn't have frozen their own citizens bank accounts for exercising their rights to protest
2024-02-07 0
Canada is a mess in every possible way.Quite understandable.
2024-02-07 0
Many consider citizenship as more of a curse. \nNo Thanks to Canada's woke prime minister whose main objective is to promote DEI people into his cabinet, however incompetent they are. \nAnd with limited jobs, very high cost of living and services that suck,...

You guys should also introspect about India and all these topics. Such hypocrisy when it comes to India jobs, houses, avg income. Yes, it's a mess here in canada but things don't remain the same and talk more about India as well why people are leaving India from all walks of life. I'm Indian living in Canada working and living decent life and I'm grateful for everything.

Canada is so cold !

3:30 \nI’m not surprised 25% of people immigrating from USA and France moved back. Those are also rich countries. Whether you live in Canada or USA is not much of a difference.
2024-02-05 0
Canada is better than USA in lots of ways...

Re Indian students as a former teacher I have to also say that many Indian students coning here are lacking the basics. I also found that students educated in US states like Florida and Texas were around two grades behind. Many Indian studenrs here have high expectations but poor background and inadequate English language skills. It is a shame that people are getting into Canada with false documentation and credentials. Also they are enrolling in very dubious schools and it is no surprise that they find life here very difficult. Hopefully the Canadian government will take greater care to see that only suitable candidates are allowed to come to Canada as students. Also students from other countries should avoid coming here if they don't really have sufficient skills and should make sure that they are choosing reputable educational institutions. There are lots of private institutions with fancy names. Don't be fooled.

Regardless of all the mud-slinging in the comments, I strongly advise any prospective immigrants to Canada to consider their situation/ aspirations seriously before making the move to Canada. While Canada is indeed a beautiful country, especially from spring to fall, there is no doubt that it has fallen behind severely in recent years. This is a massively underperforming country and people (Canadians and immigrants alike) are struggling big time. There is a massive leadership problem in Canada, where trivial problems get 99% of the attention. Real problems (which are easily solvable by the way) get little to no attention at all. Either there is very little will or the current administration is simply incompetent. Either way, some structural changes need to happen before Canada can recover.

That is great news for Canada. Please leave ASAP!
2024-02-04 0
Wow, it really seems wages in Canada are not living wages
2024-02-04 0
Canada and USA are absolutely garbage, we want to leave this fake liberal garbage with marginals and idiots as ASAP.
