Failing , that’s the right word. Canada keeps taking new immigrants ( mostly undocumented & refugees) over staying tourists. Not deporting. Lack of affordable housing/ apartments. Cost of living is too high & taxes. Minimum wage don’t match reality. Highly educated or degree holders are great & still don’t appreciate how lucky they are. No matter how successful & achieved a good job professionally when you retire, they put you back below poverty as senior. Max government pension is about $1,600 . How can you afford decently & independently to live alone. Not enough to rent a bachelor apartment. Government housing nowadays gives priorities to new / refugees / non documented immigrants than real average Canadian citizen who works hard for years. Long waiting lists for affordable housing Thank God & to myself alone , I started early & fought for my well deserved affordable housing after I retired otherwise, no way I cannot live decently as a senior like others who didn’t contribute much during their early years to the government. Give priority to our own Canadian citizen regardless of their ethnicity before giving to new undocumented immigrants. \n?❤️??

I live in NYC, and have been to Canada at least four times, but the last time I was there was quite some time ago. I always had a good thought about Canada, because it seems like some of the problems we have in this city, Canada also has in some way. Right now the city is a complete mess; at post pandemic and with a bit of a recession and a noticeable increase in groceries to basic things like cat food and tissues. That's not the biggest problem, it really is the legislation or lack of for people who not care for themselves. Those homeless people are almost not helpable and I don't feel threatened by them, but other people definitely do. The way the government has handled these undocumented migrants is a complete disaster and couldn't have come at a worse time. We have a serious housing crisis as well, and people can end up paying for high rent, for not the best places, but they want to live in a certain location. The migrants are coming in at about 60k in the last two weeks. You see mothers with little kids or babies selling candy all over the trains and it's becoming too much. Many see it as a form of child abuse or exploitation and we do not respect it at all. I think they feel we are weak and will just pay double for something we don't need. At one station today I must have be approached 3 times and interrupted 2 times while using my phone. It's just too much and we already have a lot of immigrants here, so I'm not sure where these people believe they will find any meaningful employment and the cold is coming. I wasn't born here, but came legally as an infant. I think the border situation is a disaster and it's obvious to a lot of people that the government lets things happen that will definitely effect citizens in the next couple of decades. The city is crowded enough and I do not know where this is all going, people do not want undocumented migrants house a few hundred feet from a childrens school. I just don't understand how they let this happen....I guess this is how Biden does things and all the groups that cheered buses pulling in when it first started are dwindling down....they just want them passed on to someone elses responsibility, but wouldn't want them as neighborhors necessarily. It's a lot of hypocrisy here. Canada seems better in some places, and the same in others.

Isn't it a bit hypocritical when some people ask for the freedom to practice their faith and dress in hijabs, but find it unacceptable when men dress into women? For me, it's all the same mascarade people can indulge in, if they want to. Democracy means co-existing and compromising with people you have nothing in common with. Countries that seem morally acceptable to Muslims are 99% dictatorship states. If one finds it acceptable to live in such state and raise their young there, should be free to do so. But when suddenly on one October morning this dictator state launches a cold-blooded massacre on civilians in the neighboring country, it's good to remember who started it. Canada seems to remember.

Salam aleikum, I am European who twenty years ago accepted Islam alhamdulillah. I was a student at university when I first met practicing Muslims and during my year abroad in Canada I got to experience the Muslim community and made the decision to accept the truth. It actually makes me sad to see that Canada goes down the way you described. I like the Canadian people and have beautiful memories from the time I spent there. \n\nAs a European Muslim I also started considering hijra. But my case is a bit complicated: I am the caregiver of my two parents who suffer from ALS and dementia ? As they are totally dependent on my presence, practically I cannot leave....but I also feel the negative things as you described them for Canada. With maybe one exception: our winters are milder and I enjoy our summer. When I travelled to Saudi ,Turkey and Morocco: I liked all of them, but the weather was just too much for me ?

Sorry guys, all of the reasons that you mentioned except maybe the inflation (which I think is temporary and happening around the world), are the reasons that you SHOULD STAY in Canada. If you leave then you are giving up challenges and trying to find an easy way out. Please remember nothing comes easy and if you leave Canada then you are not going to be part of the struggle to change the mindsets of Canadian society that Muslims can be also accepted in Canada as they are, which may not come during your or your children's lifetime but it will come eventually maybe during your grandchildren or great grandchildren's lifetime and you need plant the seed for that now otherwise there will be no fruitful outcome. It needs lots of patience and initial suffering for a group of minority or downtrodden people to be accepted within the mainstream societly. If the Muslim people start leaving Canada just like you guys then there will be fewer Muslims for this struggle to bring changes in Canadian society. I think you are escapign the struggle and suffering and you guys can affford that but you are leaving many of them behind who cannod afford to leave Canada and it will make their lives even worse and the future generation. You need to look at the bigger picture and and the future. Anyway, this is my personal openion, which you or your audiences may not agree.

i started to practice islam in 2009 while living in spain. and left it in 2010 and relocated to turkey. would never go back. love spain and keep my best memories of living there. but now i have three kids and need to think about them first. and i think that a muslim should live in a muslim environment. istanbul is like a european city but with adhan and people who wont harass you for your religion.

I came to canada last year as a student to may be start a new life here but after spending more than a year now . I can relate totally to you guys . This is the thought and discussions our family is having almost everyday . But I think every muslim is feeling the same thing . They are having same thought subhallah . Thank you guys :) . I’ve lived practically my entire life in Canada and I have been thinking the exact same things you are talking about. I have started to look and am very interested in Turkey. I am planning a trip this spring Insha Allah. I would suggest you put Turkey on your list. May Allah guide us in our path. Ameen.

Hello Saleh family, I have been following you for over two years now; I am not american or canadian but a physician and mother of two from a third world country in the Caribbean. I started following you because I was curious about the muslim faith and your way of life. I started following different muslim people (and jewish, vegan, homeless and more... basically anybody different than me) and after some time I saw that we were all humans in search of the same things in life. I completely agree with your decision of moving but was very disappointed in your comments towards the drag community. A person in drag reading a children's book is not indoctrination. A person in drag reading to kids is only teaching them acceptance and tolerance (exactly what you want the world to give to your girls who most likely wear a Hijab). A person in drag is an artist who finds joy and self worth in certain clothes, hairstyles and makeup... it is a person a human person with the same value as everyone else. It has nothing to do with sexuallity or sexual orientation... if we truly want freedom for Palestine, if we truly want to change the narrative and to prevent 75+ years of brutal occupation and racism ever happening again; we have to change the way we see our differences... is not enough to ignore and respect people who are different: we have to accept them and recognize their humanity and their worth; to value and foster acceptance and integration in the younger generations... that is the only way forward, that is the only way we will all secure a better future for our kids. I am a Christian, and I totally understand why you would want to move. Western society is going crazy as far as I can tell. It seems like people snapped into a state of crazy after being locked up for Covid. I live in Georgia, USA, and I agree with you about the genocide that our government is also turning a blind eye to the truth. I just don't understand why people can be full of such hate. I am so ashamed of our government. I am older, and I worry about my great granddaughter who will start school next year. I see so much of this transgender being pushed on public school children. I just can't understand what a person's sex preference has to do with preschool or any public education. This is something that should be handled at home by a parent or parents. \nI could not even imagine what you go through trying to find a safe place to pray 5 times a day. It's easy for people like me to just look around and see the Christmas decorations that are everywhere but disregard what other religions feel like when they are never considered as a part of the community. I am Malaysian, with Malaysian mom and Pakistani dad. 20 years ago my extended families in Pakistan moved to Canada and started life from scratch. Everything was kinda smooth but ever since the government supports genocide, they decided to leave Canada settle down in another muslim country so this would be their second hijrah. If you are a doctor or nurse or medical specialist trained in western medicine like Europe, Australia, etc. You almost have to start over.... SAD. Like América, big cars/trucks are king, public transit is not a thing... yeh there are some buses in a few major cities, more of an after thought... The only positive thing about coming from another country climate is you have something to compare with.... Personally i was born here so where do i go... A few friends have travelled to the US but have not returned... its warmer in Texas i guess...
