Canada is so cold !

I lived in canada six years. Got the citizenship. Then moved back to home country. There is both social and economic problems. Realised after doing a number of jobs and getting fired, that there is selective racism, largely immigrants are an underclass (canadian experience), too expensive, high taxes. One can live with the cold weather but not cold attitudes.

Re Indian students as a former teacher I have to also say that many Indian students coning here are lacking the basics. I also found that students educated in US states like Florida and Texas were around two grades behind. Many Indian studenrs here have high expectations but poor background and inadequate English language skills. It is a shame that people are getting into Canada with false documentation and credentials. Also they are enrolling in very dubious schools and it is no surprise that they find life here very difficult. Hopefully the Canadian government will take greater care to see that only suitable candidates are allowed to come to Canada as students. Also students from other countries should avoid coming here if they don't really have sufficient skills and should make sure that they are choosing reputable educational institutions. There are lots of private institutions with fancy names. Don't be fooled.

Regardless of all the mud-slinging in the comments, I strongly advise any prospective immigrants to Canada to consider their situation/ aspirations seriously before making the move to Canada. While Canada is indeed a beautiful country, especially from spring to fall, there is no doubt that it has fallen behind severely in recent years. This is a massively underperforming country and people (Canadians and immigrants alike) are struggling big time. There is a massive leadership problem in Canada, where trivial problems get 99% of the attention. Real problems (which are easily solvable by the way) get little to no attention at all. Either there is very little will or the current administration is simply incompetent. Either way, some structural changes need to happen before Canada can recover.

That is great news for Canada. Please leave ASAP!

I do not buy this story. I was born in Canada in the 50s into a very modest farm lifestyle. I easily jumped several levels and retired wealthy. I am very happy with Canada.\nThe problem is our housing costs are super high. We are bringing people into the country faster than we can grow infrastructure. Back off on immigration for 5 years, and then we'll be fine. We also need to invest in an overtaxed health care system.\nIt is safe, rich, free and full of opportunities. Canada deserves it's place in the list of best places on the planet to live.

The coldest City in Canada would be Thompson if it is still Registered as a City. Queen Elizabeth flew into Thompson in 1967 and declared it a City. At the time Thompson had a Population of 25000 . From there they had a Motorcade go through The Pas,Swan River,Dauphin and on to Winnipeg.

Came to Canada from Kuwait looking for a better future. Big mistake, shouldn't have flapped my gums at work, i had a decent banking job with a career and a future. Now im stuck driving a effin truck with a bachelors degree to make slightly above average with 0 appreciation from the public, and a middle finger to say thank you for my 70 hour work weeks. I see my bed once every 3 days. I sleep next to rats and roaches in truck by the ports. Belittled by port workers and customs agents. Barked at by everyone down to a forklift driver. Looked at as lesser of a human because of the colour of my skin. What a horrible life :( My sister has already left and she was a dentist in Toronto. My mom went back ages ago. My dad is the only one wanting to stay to take care of his elderly patients, many rely on him. All i do is pay taxes and hide my money in the business, what a corrupt and horrible financial system.

Cannot agree more. If anybody who is earning good , have good social life and attached to their family then should not even think once to move to Canada. These countries are good to visit for touristic purpose. Jai Shri Ram!

People in ER have been dying in Canada after waiting for 10-12 hours. Canada does not publish these horrible things in india or in any other country to maintain her image . Free healthcare means no health . Aldo, not everytjing is free in healthcare . You need to pay for dental , eyes, mediines , physio , other medical eqipment etc . Canada has been lying too much . Only when you live in Canada for one year , you know and then you regret . Canada is doing henious crime by misinforming people in other countries . I’m hearing from a lot of immigrants that Trudeau has brought in way too many immigrants. I was lectured by a Sri Lankan at a Pizza Pizza in Toronto that Canada is now a third world country because of all of the immigration. It’s time for Trudeau to go. My child graduated in computer science in 2021 and is still looking for a job in software development. Government policy allows Canadian companies to off shore their software development work and also allows for foreigners with IT experience to be fast tracked as permanent residence to Canada. It is gloomy for young Canadians, as our Govt- federal and Provincial- places more focus on businesses and profits about stability rather than orderliness in our society.
