My husband is from Gaza, all of his extended family was killed and these three months have been the most emotionally depleting, we also found out we are 2 months pregnant alhamdulilah and because we want to make sure the little one gets the islamic education and lives in a safe environment we can't possibly stay in Canada (we live in Vancouver, almost no visible muslims here). I'm a revert from Europe so people get so confused when they see me in hijab, it's uncomfortable and scary. Given the fact that my husband grew up in Gaza, we would like to move somewhere where islamic values are still very strong and people didn't exchange them for Shakira concerts (I think we all know which country i'm talking about) so our safest bet as of now is Kuwait and Qatar. More strongly Kuwait as there's a big Palestinian community. Hope this helps!

You are right, all over the world there's inflation but in Canada there's no savings, huge tax, no job security all over Canada, where we can get lay off after years of hard work in a company. Canada encourages people to be in debts, tons of credit cards. As a Muslim I think the same for the upbringing of kids in Canada which is very difficult almost impossible. I know of many families leaving because of exact same reasons, including how the gov handled covid and lockdowns. No one has ever regrette their decision to leave. They are much happier. The only thing that is better in Canada is you can get large plots of land, e.g. 50 acres with a home. That is difficult to find elsewhere.

I really do wish u all the best, but coming from a Muslim country myself immigrating to Canada recently, I’d say don’t get your hopes up, because so called “Muslim” countries aren’t much different, and having to live in a country where u can hear the athan is nice, but unfortunately is not enough. This is actually my problem with Western Muslims, romantacizing Muslim countries. I literally practiced Islam fully and more freely in Toronto than in Cairo or Dubai. Why and how the great, rich North America got to this state of misery in 21 century?! What are the real reasons? For example why in 21 century there are more mental disorder patients whom are not supported by a rich , resourceful government and eventually end up to the streets?! Why there was not such problem in 19 or 20 th centuries? How the society was taking care of them back then? Or, why when people lose their physical ability to work, there is not a system of permanent support for them? Why there are not enough houses built for those who have been disadvantaged for real reasons? I mean most of these homeless people are not addicted. A lot of them are willing to work and contribute to society, yet there are not enough support for getting them back to a normal lifestyle! Why rich governments are not making their countries a better , healthier, safer place for their citizens? But only having talks in wef conferences! It sounds all fishy and intentional to me. They should have come up with ways of solutions to end this. Yet we see it getting deeper and bigger. Isn’t it weird that over 350 000 people are homeless in a vast, rich country such as Canada?!

In my teens, early 20s (early 00's) i dreamed of emigrating to Canada and Toronto. It had beautiful nature, was clean, safe, nice people and a great standard of living. But seeing it now especially the big cities is really sad. Many countries have had major turn arounds (Colombia for instance) and hopefully Canada can get back to being a great place again. Love from the UK .

Canada sucks. I graduated 7 years ago and never found steady work in my field. Best I got was a half year contract. And then I learned that even if you make 5500$ a month, your gross pay will look more like 3200$ once the government takes its cut. And for what??? What do they actual provide to Canadian citizens? NOTHING. The only people getting anything from the government are drug addicts, refugees, and boomers. Canada is a country where everything is expensive and you get paid shit. The people suck, the culture sucks, the weather sucks...I cannot think of a single upside of living here (except maybe that it's not a religious shithole and women aren't treated like cattle).

Compared to America, being a disabled person in Canada is a dream. I lived in TO without a car for 5 years. You can't do that in the USA. Ever. Taxes are lower as there is an ancient infrastructure which is never updated (see Florida Condo meltdown, Texas power grid failure 2021). You spend hours in traffic as there is almost no public transportation. There are few or no environmental regulations so our country is beyond polluted. Rivers literally catch fire. Foreign companies bribe our officials (at least Canada has acknowledged this as a problem) so citizens can't get justice. Life expectancy in America fell sharply in 2020. It fell again in 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic certainly played a role, but that’s not the whole story. During this same time period, eight of the ten leading causes of death also increased. Even maternal and child and adolescent mortality increased. In August 2022, federal health officials released new data showing that across all demographic groups, Americans are dying younger. Welcome to the USA!

The writer and most of the people who gave yes to this article will rush to Canada if they get a work or long stay visa. Some of the yes people may be from countries who have developed a bad relationship with Canada.

Its highly depressing for parents who come only with love of their children. I believe if you have everything in India ..there is no need to go abroad. Paise ke greed kabhi khatam nai hoti. You get quality of life in canada but at the cost of depression . Canadian here. Canada is a pointless sh!thole. You might as well move anywhere else, like 31% of new immigrants do. Rampant street crime, businesses are little more than fronts for organized crime, homelessness is on the rise, food, clothing, shelter and fuel are unaffordable, your average citizen pretends it’s not happening, unions are corrupt as hell, as are universities and the government. All the hallmarks of a decaying, braindead, decadent civilization are there. Women are mostly little more than worthless whores, men are mostly debauched fools if not homeless, we’re plagued by censorship, surveillance, CIA-type dirty tricks, transgender mania, an inability to think clearly, and magical thinking. All of those issues are the same in any OCDE country. \n\nHousing market is shit in Europe too, even worse I would say, but at least they have decent public transports, so you can live outside a city and still go to your work fast. I would encourage Canadians to get involved more in politics and demand changes to the system. Housing is high in Canada due to lack of building permits and blue collar laborers. Canada accepted a high rate of white collar skill immigrants but lack job opportunities for them. Vancouver economy is tourism dependent while Alberta is energy base and Toronto financial base. Healthcare is available for every Canadian but salaries are low in the industry compared to US. The government should encourage companies to invest in Canada and create jobs for the economy. Since the tax rate in Canada is higher compared to the US, citizens should ask themselves if the money is going to good use and generating jobs in the economy.

Don’t come to Canada. Housing is expensive, food is expensive, taxes are high and rising. If you do come to Canada bring your own tent so you have a place to live after you get tired of the homeless shelter. Don’t worry there are plenty of tent cities all over the country but do your research because some of them are dangerous. Don’t get sick because it’s hard to find a doctor and the emergency rooms are backed up for many hours to see a doctor. Violent crime is on the rise as well. I’m doing ok but will leave Canada when I retire.

With 9 month of experience, I am truly considering going back to my country, here you cannot get a job related to the degree that you have even having 3 years experience with. They will pay the lowest in the low despite the Glassdoor average salary. Add on the high living cost and complex extremely long hiring process, there is no good career path and is all about survival. Sorry to say, but when locals are struggling, I don’t understand why asking foreigners to come… Pretty much many of us and locals are so disappointed+angry+frustrating, this country drain all my saving, I come here to work, not purely let Canada eating all my money. And yes, they said value education, but a degree will not let you to get an entry admin job cus they expected Master degree, lasting many of their systems and 10 years experience. In my province healthcare is ostensibly nonexistent. Wait times at ER's are well over 12 hours and you're often directed to go home without ever seeing a doctor. \nThere is an extreme deficit of doctors. I've been waiting 6 years for one and there are people who have waited much longer with no relief in sight. \nHousing is unaffordable. A decent (nothing special) one bedroom 1 bath apartment is around 1600 a month and this is a largely rural province, not a metropolitan city. \nHomes are being bought as fast as they go on the market at extremely inflated prices by people moving here to escape the more populated provinces. This has raised property taxes by 20% in the last 2 years.\nThe economy is in shambles. Homelessness is exploding and the government seems uninterested in fixing it in any realistic or helpful way.\nFederal and provincial income taxes are nearly 50% of your income (44% for me and a bit more for my wife). So, what money you do make you get to keep a little more than half.\nElectricity is about 3 times what it is in the US and the rate here is increasing by 29% over the next 3 years.\nGroceries are unreasonably expensive and becoming more pricey by the day. Provincial sales tax is 15% on top of those groceries as well. \nThis is a short list of a few of the more glaring issues but there are far more. Canada has transformed over the last 5 years into a place I hardly recognize anymore. If something isn't done about it soon we'll be living in a third world country by 2030.

They show a lot of grocery stores when they talk about monopolies, but it’s in everything. When I was getting my internet set up I found out only one of the two main companies in Canada is provided for my area (they do this on purpose). So I pay over $100 a month just for internet. And literally have no other cheaper option other than living with no internet. (I’m in a small town so there aren’t even any cafes or anything to pop into). And live alone. Another thing, we’ve got a big country, and I live in a rural community, so most of my colleagues drive at least 45 minutes to get to work, one way, because they’d rather live in the city. And this is NB so you can’t take public transportation like trains to get here, you’re driving on the highway to get here. Since the pandemic houses have more than doubled, I did get a raise, but it was I think 4% over the last three years. So cost of living is definitely increasing at a much higher rate. Before the pandemic I could buy a week of groceries for one person for $60, now it’s more than $100 for a week easily, and that’s with looking for bargains and reducing the amount of meat and fresh produce I eat. It can’t keep getting worse, because people already can’t afford it, so something is going to have to change before everything breaks completely.

I grew up in Canada from age 15 years old, and somehow, at age 18, I became a chef . Life was easy and lovely in montreal, used to make $400 a week, pay rent 600 a month, and had very simple and happy life in montreal, then I endup up in montreal Casino ,lost all my savings and total of 120k credit card, long story short moved to Melbourne Australia 2012 again my addiction cost me another 150k of my first 5 years working here making around 1000k a week ,at the start of 2018 stop gambling and try to recovery from mental ,emotional and financial of my ediction, now I save up 250k Australians and have roof over my head and 3 little kid's, not happy as montreal but I guess was good call ,to get out and try new country, I'm not as happy as montreal because love canada and montreal specialy, but boy my beloved country not doing so good
