As a new citizen of Canada who came here as a refugee, I feel for Canadians who have been here for generations. No other country would tolerate this. I have nothing against people who come here to make it from less opportunistic places, as I was one of those people, but if you're gonna come to another country, respect its cultures and norms - don't act like you're still back home.

The problem with immigration is the quality of immigrants, this country still needs quality immigrants to fulfill top level positions, in the recent years Canada got flooded with too many international students for various college degrees, as i’ve heard there are some colleges in Toronto which only has one classroom in a building but they have so many students enrolled ? and bringing in more refugees makes the housing and job situation even worse. On the other hand government had to remove the 20hour work cap of international students to run this economy ?

My nephew wants to come here. He is a game designer and a programmer. I told him not to come to Canada.\nIt is very difficult here. I work as a Dentist and I went through hell in Canada getting my credentials approved. Wasted on that 6 years of my life. My son , an engineer, left Canada. I'm a 1.5 gen Canadian from Toronto, immigrated here with my parents when I was 5, I'm 24 now and making over 100k annually but I cannot afford to buy a home here. Accepted a job offer in Pennsylvania because I can actually afford to buy a home there, settle down and actually have a life - goodbye Canada.

India is one of the few countries in the world which has a huge surplus population that can supply Canada with an endless amount of cheap labor. The main reason why we Indians are leaving Canada is because its full of Indians & Chinese. There is no European/Western World's feeling. Not too many speak proper English, either the compatriates are Chinese or Punjabies and none of them can speak proper English. Let me make a very serious distinction . Canada is not a monolithic country . The people on the West Coast - British Columbia are culturally very similar to those living in Washington State and Oregon - total left wing granola - flakes and nuts. The Canadians on the East Coast are culturally similar to the US East Coasters- Joe Biden's people . \nThe people on Canada's Prairies - Alberta, Saskatchewan and the west side of Manitoba are similar to the US Midwest all the way down to Texas. Calgary, Alberta where I hail from has the largest annual outdoor rodeo in the world - the Calgary Stampede !. \nWe don't identify with the issues of the rest of Canada - we're Albertan's first and foremost !

No job but when I am applying for a house or apartment, all landords ask if I am full time employed. Canada is hell. No reason to live here anymore.
