Most in New Brunswick like the low rating because it keeps people from moving here. Well, until covid happened. Because we managed COVID well, over 50,000 people moved here; most from ON, and that sent our housing market crazy. Many home values increased by $250,000 and that has created a housing crisis here because New Brunswickers don't make as high wages as most others. I've been in every province and territory in Canada and they all have there pluses and minuses. Which, is why I find these videos more entertaining then of any real value.

I live in Canada, and I can say it's not perfect. Jobs are plentiful, but housing is expensive, A change in govt could fix this in a few short years, however. Trudeau is on his way out, and a new business friendly administration will set things right. In any case, it's still better than India!

Canada has a housing shortage of 3.5 million, not 345,000 claimed in this video. Decades of restrictions on building new homes by local MPs caused this issue because new homes will change the character of neighborhoods. NEW INVASION IN US?

Regular Canadians don’t even want to live here anymore. The finance situation is absolutely broken. It’s mathematically impossible for people to live here let alone immigrate her. \n\nImmigration is a huge part of this country but when you dump 500,000+ more people every year AND THERES LITERALLY NO HOUSING AVAILABLE. I hope they pass the word around so we get fewer illegals and economic migrants. Canada has to get its house in order for its own people not for all the people coming without being properly vetted according to our “not so good” immigration Law. Our country has many serious problems to address and fix i.e., health care, military funding, police funding, housing, affordable food. We need our borders strengthened and we need a government that puts the citizens first, not a government leader who with his every off the wall action makes us look an easy touch for the criminal element roaming the world. I feel sorry to see all these news about Canada. Canada is a beautiful country it values family. Instead of granting visa to high school graduates they should welcome more to family sponsorship, professional graduate students on the funded program. Canadian take student loan from government to fund thier undergraduate program. People chose to immigrate for quality of life and experience new things. Is canada will not take immigrants seriously, it will fall drastically. Politicians and planners here are worst in the world. Canada is racist, it does not allow people to jokn their workforce as they know new immigrants are far more capable from them.

I actually think it is a good thing, the country need time to reach a new balance, it has been too many in such a short period of time.

People who come to Canada after receiving their PR struggle way too much. When you apply for a job here, they require you to have 1 year of Canadian working experience. How does someone fulfill that criteria if they've just landed in a new country? The government should instead open PR for only blue-collar jobs, which are actually in high demand. The whole immigration program otherwise feels like a scam. You shouldn't be getting any points for your educational and professional qualifications in the application when, in reality, it's not going to help you afterward. Most of the people I know here are planning a relocation because they don't see themselves owning a house anytime soon.

I had to leave Vancouver 10 years ago literally because I couldn't afford to live there anymore. The cost of living was too high even then, and the job prospects simply weren't there. I have a BA and was an ESL teacher with 20 years experience. Tried changing careers as there were no stable jobs in ESL. I wasted 5 years struggling to find new work and in the end had to leave.

I'm so glad to finally see people talking about this issue. I'm originally from Africa, but I was raised in the US, so spent most of my life in the country (35+ yrs). And, I felt this deep loneliness even as a child. I would cry whenever we went back home to visit and it was time to go back to the US, and I would be really depressed for quite a while after getting back to the US. I never felt that life was normal, and everytime we met a new immigrant, I remember thinking to myself, even as a child or teenager that they just don't know the trap they are getting themselves into. Kudos to you for speaking up about this.

Wow 60k$. I was paying 14k$ Australian at one of the top uni per year as an international student 30yrs ago. Our fee built a new campus. I did work the full legal amount possible. I could only make almost enough to pay for my tuition. And wages has not doubled in 30 years. But US is paying 30k a year even for local. They do come to Canada for education too

Isn't it usually the government's fault for impeding new housing projects? The free market would have responded to the increase in housing demand rapidly without the bureaucracy. Of course, although I say free market, building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability should still be followed. But the bottleneck to more housing is usually government control/special interest groups, and not engineering challenges, which have mostly been solved.
