Can we talk about the lack of services for people coming to Canada from Quebec a very distinct province. I am an anglo who left Quebec because of the political climate and am having a culture shock here in Ontario. There are so many immigrants and services and support for immigrants which is fantastic, but it is somehow expected that all Candians are alike and can easily move from one province to the next. I have been having difficulty adapting and would like to see more services for people like me which is virtually non-existent.

International students are helping the economy overall. Housing should be addressed so the solution to regulate the entry of new students in the next three yeara must be considered while the government is fixing the housing concern.

If CBC produced more informative and relevant content like this I don’t think they’d have much concern about being defunded by the next conservative government.

Ban all immigration for the next 25 years. Unfortunately (not surprisingly!) Canada has once again screwed over its citizens in favor of votes. The biggest problem is obviously housing, and while Canada has never in its history built more than 200K homes in a year, last year in 2024 Canada let in over 1M immigrants which equals 8 years of housing construction, while the Liberals have an immigration quota for 500K immigrants per year. Canada has to ban all immigration including International students for the next 2 decades. It will take Canada 20 years to build enough housing to increase inventory and lower the actual cost of housing, essentially bursting the largest housing bubble the world has ever seen.

What I would like to know myself as a Canadian resident for 60 years where is the financing coming from the students coming in from their perspective countries or is it Canadian financing. I live in London i know all about International students and how crazy things are since rental properties are non existent and the price has skyrocketed for rental properties and another is the city transit system that is always packed with many buses are having to tell people to wait for the next bus because it is so packed. it is getting out of control in my opinion because not only do we have the students we have all the Asylum seekers on top of that and how they add to the wait lines in the ER and walk in clinics. and then they are looking for places to rent to but there is nothing because everything is packed.

That's definitely a responsibility of Canada's government and public schools themselves. You should never consider getting more and more students to this country if you don't have a clue how to manage this educational business properly. Moreover, the federal government should consider making better use of the existing budget to leverage AI models to do this job if nobody can tell how many students those public schools are able to accommodate for the next academic year. Today's AI can perform better than people think they do in such a matter of computing. Let the professional do their job. You just input all your available resources as a number of parameters into the AI models, and in just a few seconds, they can tell you how many international students one province should accept.

Sad to say but Canada will be a very tough place to not only live but to thrive in, at least for the next decade. Not worth it, maybe come back 2 years after the Conservatives win and have started fixing some things in 2027. Funny thing, Halifax is bursting at the seams with new arrivals. It’s expected to double in size in the next decade. There’s another ethnic grocery store opening every week. Our population has grown by 10 million people in 20 years, largely due to immigration. Toronto is bursting at the seams and is the most polyglot city on the planet. I have noticed a lot of these whiny videos by immigrants who say it’s no good to move here. I think they are not telling the truth about the tsunami of immigration going on here in Canada right now. Trouble is, there’s not enough housing for the 40 million people here right now. There’s not enough doctors, nurses, hospitals, social services/workers to service our present population. Still, the government flaps its gums about wanting 100 million people here by 2100. If that’s true, southern Ontario will look like Tokyo. There has to be a reevaluation of putting the majority of new arrivals in the GTA. If people want to move here, they should be willing to go to smaller cities and towns across the country.
