My parents immigrated from Britain in the 1959s after WWII and built a comfortable life! At 72 I live a relatively comfortable life although I have spent all my savings and I currently rent! I lived in Spain with my much younger Colombian wife who passed away in 2019. My pension income is sufficient for me to live since I returned to Canada and I have better than adequate healthcare and dental care! The short story is \nTurd and the Turdettes were elected because Harpoons and his band of buttkissing bootlickers were self-serving incompetents. Now Turd, who has never been competent to be PM, which his long list of scandals should easily prove, is going to compel the election of another incompetent self-serving politician. Canadians never learn, switching from one idiot to another as the country spirals into the sewer. The proposed level of immigration and climate change options will turn Canada into a third world country? Maybe we can call it Turdland and then we will all be Turds!

This change is taking place across the entire Western world, from Europe, to Canada, to Australia and New Zealand, to the USA. It's also not an accident, and things *WILL* continue to get worse until all of you people wake up and realize what the root cause of all these problems is: non-Western mass immigration.\n\nThe time for being polite is long past. Before locking people down for months at a time as occurred during Covid, hopefully politicians will consider the long term repercussions, if such a thing should happen again. Countless businesses closed their door permanently, people lost their jobs, children are still behind in their education, and mental health issues hit the roof. Fabulous video! US viewer here. But we often vacationed in Quebec’s Laurentians and our daughter went to Ontario’s University of Toronto for her undergraduate degree about 15 years ago. UofT was rigorous, to say the least, but she did it in 4 years, unlike some of her peers. She LOVED it, and made many friends, including internationals. They’ve stayed close on FB, and even get together (some flying in from other countries, including the Middle East and Asia) every 2 years or so back in Toronto. We’ve found the easiest way to make friends is by going to university or college together and living in residence, rather than once we’ve enter the workforce.\n\nThat said, and as unpolite as it may be, the root of Canada’s problems are exactly its politics. IMO Canada’s misguided liberal policies are to blame for its stratospheric taxes, cost of housing, increasing crime, tolerant drug culture, and deteriorating health care system. That Canada now encourages voluntary euthanasia to reduce health care costs should say it all. Margaret Sanger would be proud. And it promises to get worse as long as Justin Trudeau and his ilk are in power. His lionizing climate change intervention at the expense of what really impacts Canadians is sheer madness. Conservative Party Pierre Poilievre and like-minded politicians could fix it all.\n\nHappily, here in the US, the conservative movement is growing and energized. Once-liberal, especially ‘minority,’ voters are understanding how little the left really offers in the long run, and are switching sides. They’ll be voting for Trump in November.

I made about 65K in 1999. Paid just over 40% in total taxes. Are you sure it's 22K taxes on 100K income? I left Canada a long time ago (not enough jobs, etc. all the reasons you listed, thanks!). Tired of Canada's overly woke politics too :( I used to be progressive, now I'm conservative. I have not changed much in my views, it's just that Canada (mainstream) has shifted so far left :(

I agree with all of what you said, of course it’s a result of still the 2008 crash people have not recovered then they were hit by COVID-19 then after COVID-19, both Canada and America have drained their money into the Ukraine war, after that now Canada is draining its reserve into the clash in the mid east, trying to walk in line with America again, but they have America have US dollar which is backed by most of the world even though America is suffering now they are now on 33 trillion deficit, and it is continuing, many economist, they say if it wouldn’t be, America are printing the dollar if it would’ve collapsed long time ago, America is involving itself around the world and that cost huge money but it is unfortunate that Canada it’s trying to follow with it which means higher taxes and higher cost in the trillions

This is not a transitory situation for any large city, unless these problems are addressed. So long as Canada, like the U.S., is run on delusional Leftist policies, the problems will only get worse. I am born in Canada and i lived in Montreal's suburb(South Shore like we say here) all my life and i love it but i would never live in big major cities because of increases of crimes, high prices of houses/condo, traffic jam, pollution. \nMy girlfriend from Beijing came here last september for 2 months and she really loved it. She enjoyed the freedom, the many different foods from other countries in restaurants, our culture , the people kindness, beautiful nature and easy living.\nYes we have too free medical health care here in Quebec's province(Sun card ) and i have an excellent medical plan with my employer so i can have acess to private clinics free of charges when it's too long in public hospitals.\nI hate snow and cold long winters since the age of 18 when i had to go out for work or school and i dont like our corrupt goverment but we can vote for a less worst one every 4 years. ?

It's really strange to hear these topics. I remember in the 1980's people warning about universal healthcare that always results in wait times, in some instances very long wait times. Humans are a broken record: the same warnings, the same actions, the same unfortunate results.

Let’s not circle the obvious here. These are the major problems in Canada that are greatly amplified and visible in the bigger metro areas:\n\n- Loss of economic opportunity due to the disastrous Liberal government policies of Justin Trudeau, with all the known bad social consequences.\n\n- Out of control immigration. Impossible for a country to absorb that many immigrants in a short period of time to make them productive and pay into the system.\n\n-Rampant and oppressive woke culture. If you disagree with it, you’re labeled anything from racist to transphobic. \n\n-Permissive liberal policies with drug abuse and mental illnesses.\n\n-Spineless Conservative politicians. This is changing, but boy is it taking long.\n\n-Canadian complacency and self-imposed politeness. The worst traits we have as a country. We basically don’t react to bad situations until the shit hits the fan.\n\nI’m hopeful for this country, but we still need to fall further down to do the changes we need to do.

I respect your decision to leave based on misalignment of values and other factors you cited. I wish newcomers would be aware of these things before they moved to Canada. Anytime Canada takes in a flood of immigrants and refugees whose value systems don't align it creates longer term issues for society and the country. Biden is doing the same thing by allowing a flood of refugees, little does he realize what the long term impacts will be.

As a Jewish “cousin” living in the Southern US, I can definitely appreciate your concerns, especially those related-to the cold, inflation, religious observance, indoctrination, and an over-bearing government…. Assuming that they would be supportive and good role models, are your children’s grandparents still alive? Would living near them be an option? Are any uncles, aunts, and cousins available at any potential locations? Suggestion: Some dear friends sold their dream home and left their long-time friends last year to move across the country to live in a property that they had inherited. These friends eventually admitted that they were MISERABLE in their new location and now (12-14 months later) have returned to their “home state.” Unfortunately, their choices have turned-out to be very “costly” in many ways….. Since your children are involved, you may want to consider giving any potential location a 6-12 month “test run” before making an “official” decision….. Prayers and best wishes as you consider your options!! ❤️

Hi Alina, I have been living in Toronto all my life and it is changing rapidly just in the last few years. To live sort of comfortable, you would need 2 incomes or sometimes 3. I don't know how long I can stay here.

It's been changing for the worst for a long time, more than 20 years. No offense but 500k used to be expensive for a house in 2006 but everyone has normalized that as cheap.

Even though the Israeli government removed the Jews from the Gaza Strip against their free will in 2005, who had lived in the Gaza Strip for long time themselves. In 2006 a year later the Hamas came into power by killing off their opponents and rivalry. We don't want the Gaza or even the West Bank to become another Syria where millions of Syrians were forced from their homes and country because of the Civil War going there. So I understand what that Arab Saudi is talking about. ?

Moved to Canada in 2017 and looking to leave in 2024. I was lucky to come here with a job and I’m making a six figure income even though I’m far from being successful. However, the problem with canada at the moment is even if you have a decent job and not too bad salary, you still can’t afford a home and the rent keeps going through the roof. Canada’s obsession with immigration is lazy and irresponsible. The politicians and elites see immigrants as cash cows and instead of creating companies that generate jobs and wealth, they speculate in the housing markets which are fuelled by immigrants. Immigration is not necessarily a bad thing but you do it with a plan, definitely not as radically as Canada did under the liberal government. The massive immigration only helps the rich, the already haves and the investors. Ask middle and lower classes how they feel about their life quality in Canada, do they really benefit from the immigration? They fight hard for jobs with minimum wages, pay for ridiculous rents, wait in the long line at the emergency rooms, get into bidding wars in the housing markets …. If you are not rich, simply don’t come to Canada. It’s not worth it unless you enjoy living from paycheck to paycheck and owning nothing.

I love living in Canada. I own my >$1.5 million condo with an ocean. I make a 6-figure annual salary from my job. I also have saved a large sum of money which provides me a consistent stream of taxable interest income. Frankly, I hardly care about how other Canadians live their lives as long as I am happy with mine.

As a canadian i never thoughg of living anywhere else vanxouver is so beautiful. Growing up govrnmebt started cutting programs and services in schools ans public resources. And kept doing it. \n\nNow they are removinf beautiful homes to build ugly apartments no yards .\n\nThere is not enough public space. Everyone is moving to the city. We use to be able to go to the beach on a weekday in spring and there was no one. Now its packes. To get to the bathroom was almost a block long. The bathrooms are small. Goos for population we has in the early 90s. We need somethings 4x larger now. \n\nIm ok with new comers but if they create a new community in the rural areas. We have so many areas up north no one moves to.\n\nOr lots of space to build new communities up north, not deatroy the current communities that already exist. \n\nWith all the new apartments there is not enough space for cara, no parking and no room on public transportation.\n\nSimply, the city cannot support anymore people. Its unrealistic. \nI worked with a girk who shares a 1 bedroom apartment with 5 other people and she still paid 1500 a month for rent.\n\nThis will soon be like america - run down, extreme poverty & homelessness. The homelessness has gotten so extreme.\n\nWages havw increased maybe 3x since i was a kid, but pricea rose eveey year.\n\nAs a kid we paid $850 for 3 bedrooms. When i mo ed to my first apartment i paid $800 for 3 bdrms. My friend pays $3000 now for a 2 bedroom aptt.\n\nThere are more crimes more thefts now. My old houae was 600,000 that same house is now 1.5 mil. \n\nI make 2x what i made 3 yeara ago ans things are even more expensive than, i have less now vs when i was making less. Maybe it is true wherever you live: the grass always seems greener somewhere else. Well, probably not greener than in the UK or Ireland where it rains a lot and it isn't possible to imagine grass any greener, but you know what I mean. \nIf you want to live in a place where housing is cheap, go to a country where the population is not mushrooming but shrinking. There are towns in Italy where the authorities are selling empty houses (which might need repair or upgrading if left unoccupied for a long time) for ONE EURO and there are places in rural Portugal where property is cheap. And of course there is Eastern Europe. And in Africa.

Canada is an unaffordable mess under Justin Trudeau's 8 years of government . If he gets elected a fourth time we are finished as a country. We are almost at a point of no return. Think hard when voting in the next election. Vote for policy and a long term plan for Canada.

I was born in Canada. I am now in Thailand. I worked 35 years for a large transportation organization. I am retired and loving living abroad. It is cold in Canada 6 months of the year. Climate change is creating massive forest wildfires every summer now creating horrid air quality issues especially in the west, which is the mist beautiful part of the country in my opinion. I traveled back for a couple of weeks in October 2023 and was in shock over the cost of everything especially considering the recent inflation problem affecting the entire world. I couldn't wait to het back to my life in Thailand. Here there is no racism that I can see. All races and religions are accepted here. I hardly ever wear pants, shorts and short sleeve shirts. I can golf 12 months a year and live very comfortably on my pension. I could not have the same quality of life in my home country and the medical industry makes care here very affordable and accessible. In B.C. I found it extremely difficult to find s family doctor after moving there even to get a comprehensive medical checkup. I love my country of origin but will never return as long as I have the choice. Canada is over taxed, over regulated and very expensive now. These are the facts that created my choice to emigrate.

Great decision. I would recommend moving to Turkey whether you want a busy and open minded city like istanbul or a quiet more reserved filled with nature city like Trabzon. When i go there, it feels like home, and i feel like i belong. I dunno how to explain. And as long as you have an outside income, you will be financially stable. Your own canadian government is like communist state. toronto doctors are allowed to give people an injection to end their life. This way they are no longer a burden to society / government. I have cousin inlaws that live in markham a suburb and they have a house and when I visited them I had to squeeze my car in the driveway to park overnight. You're not allowed to park a car on the street or else you get a ticket? I know of no place that does this in suburb in america. I'm in nYC, been to PA, lived in jersey, nyc, have family in long island etc..

There are lots of Muslim countries to choose from. Choose one of them. It's unlikely that you will find decent healthcare. Freedom of speech or welfare help during a bad patch. You may also have to pay for your children education. But there wil be lots mosques. You will hear the call to prayer. Just remind me how many Christain Churches are there in muslim countries. The UK has long cold wet winters. You would hate it here.

Inflation has hit worldwide. Prices surged after COVID with no signs of going down and now we are at a point that we've been anchored to these prices. Sometimes I dissuade myself from the occasional treat. I thought Popeye's was halal in Canada. While I now live in a state with 100,000+ Muslim population, I wish there were a lot more halal eatery options. This is a stark contrast from where I was living in Long Island, New York, where there were close to 30 halal eateries in a 3-mile radius. New York City has now permitted the azaan to be broadcasted over loudspeaker for every week jumu'ah and during Ramazan every maghrib as well. Even with all the halal options and large Muslim neighborhoods, NYC has its own challenges. A designated shoes-off place of worship for all faiths in establishments would be nice, be it malls, superstores, or airports.

I live in America for almost 30 years now and I still don't feel settled or call this home. Kids don't want to go back and my connections with Indian-relatives is pretty much cut off, but still I long to go back ... may be one day!
