But rather instead “permanent immigration” should be reduced to 250,000 per year for about 90% “highly skilled” Immigrants only. Temporary Foreign Workers should “have to” go home after their work permit expires “and” International Students should “not” be allowed to work in Canada then they “have to” go home after their University Degree is finished.

It’s simple, mass immigration dilutes the national culture with other cultures that don’t have the time, ability, desire or intention to adapt to the host culture. It effectively causes cultural ghettoing of society which lends itself very well to manipulation by the practitioners of ideologies that dislike traditional national identity and strong historical values. That is, liberal progressive ideologies. That’s in contrast with well-vetted, manageable, and highly controlled immigration from similar or adaptable cultures that increase the chance of successful integration, which is favoured by conservatives, as anyone with a gram of common sense can imagine.

Inflation is higher than what they say.. real estate prices are out of touch with the actual wages and salaries.. cost of food is unbelievable… rent is ridiculous.. Wages are laughable.. taxes are insane.. we are also taxed on so many things on top of income tax such as .environment, carbon, plastic, sugar tax etc… it is insane.. Healthcare is going through crisis… Getting MRI takes ages.. So now they wanna bring 500k in the midst of all this ? It is going to screw us more .. I also feel sorry for the migrants who are moving out here with lots of hope and ambitions… I also feel sorry for us .. stress = mental health issues….. This government screwed each one of us.. what they are doing doesn’t make any sense to me. They are out of touch with reality.. Can’t wait for the election and will never vote for NDP or Liberals.. they surprised me.. Trudeau and the Liberals have made so many major mistakes. It is time for a major change in Canada. A number of changes need to be made. Immigration was fine up until the Liberals decided to become globalists. Before that all immigrants were united under the Canadian flag. The Canadian experience, being Canadian, and honoring the Canadian tradition were all real things. Then the Liberals came along and pushed Canada into becoming a multicultural state where everyone became a hyphenated Canadian. Fast forward to today and the hundreds of cultures in Canada are all in Silos, caring more about their original homeland over their adopted home. They've even brought their ancient disputes with them. It's a sad state of affairs. Ultimately designed to divide people, kill the Canadian identity and keep Liberals in power indefinitely.

This interview completely misses the point by interviewing the “wrong” immigrant. Immigrants to Canada leave for the U.S. because Canada prefers “high value” immigrants (e.g., physicians, engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs with excellent track records, occupations that are expensive to train and/or individually contribute a lot to the GDP) that the U.S. would also like to attract. Not only can many of these people make more money in the U.S., but they often encounter more help and/or less restrictions with professional licenses (e.g., most states have an industrial exemption for engineers, and do a better job at helping foreign doctors and nurses get their licenses to practice medicine). How many times have we heard of a foreign professional reduced to driving a taxi or becoming a housewife when they move to Canada because an immigration official didn’t properly inform the immigrant of the hoops they would have to jump through, and the provincial professional association offered minimal, if any, assistance? \n\nThis PhD student (and others with more academic than lucrative educations) may think he’ll have it made moving to the US but I think he overestimates his value. The small liberal arts colleges that may have hired someone with his background are decreasing in number or changing to a more technical focus (usually to computer science because it doesn’t require expensive labs needed in medicine or engineering). American students are now more critically examining what degrees, if any at all, will lead to better paying careers, and I doubt Myanmar is on their radar as a money-making opportunity.

We have a job shortage, not a labour shortage. In addition to the international students, the liberals created many special immigration pathways, one of which issues to almost everyone in Hong Kong a 3year work permit followed by a PR giveaway. These Hong Kong people are highly educated and skilled, but some of them I met said it is very difficult to find a job in Canada now. They have to accept a junior position with 6 years of experience or even work a survival job. The reasons that keep them here are cheaper house price and can stay away from China and they are gladly being lowballed. Helping people is a good thing but I feel that our young people are being sold, I've heard from many of them who cannot find a job recently.

Liberals are so delusional on this matter. There are certainly shortages in the skilled labour force segments; however, bringing in scores of temporary visitors and international students who have no intention to contribute to these segments, there is of no use stretching the resources on these low-skilled burden.

Politicians are all the same breed. Liberals or Conservatives.

How about putting the wasted money on imagrints into free training for CANADIANS. The liberals are just buying votes.

Liberals say they are bringing skilled labour yet those lines are as long a 4-9 buses, Skilled workers don’t come in lines of 300 people like that. Those are cheap workers exported from india into our canadian borders, I respect skilled hard working immigrants not these cheap mcdonald’s cashiers or lame losers.
