Let's be honest, you can live in Quebec even if you speak only english as long as you work in Montreal city or very close. I highly recommend to learn french but it still possible without it. Most of people born in Quebec like me got to learn english, being surrounded by english nations don't give to much choices, need to learn english to get better careers. Most of poeple living in Montreal area speak french and english.

@CitImmCanada -I came to Canada in 2018 , paid my Tutiom fees working day and night offf , completed my graduation in 2020.I worked as manager in gas station from 2020-2022 during pandemic putting my life on risk , you guys first messed your immigration system during pandemic,after pandemic you got this absurd system of TR2PR , messed up your own system , in which there are Still millions of files pending , then you guys stopped the immigration for 1 year, still I thought it would get better with the time. When the immigration started back in this July the scores were so high that only PHD and people outside Canada with 0 canadian skills can only get the PR. You guys then gave visas to Afghanis , Ukrainians (the fake humanitarian help your government provides )which I don’t mind but the government should have fixed the people who are and we’re here , who came as students , who has all the details of the individuals , has all the experience needed , has all the potential needed to start the career , has 0 criminal record but no you guys keeps getting new and messed up plans. like seriously this country and system is run by this type of people. I am gonna be going back to my country soon as I don’t wantt to stay now in Canada. The coming 10 years will be a disaster if your government and people won’t WAKE UP!!!!

Most Canadian citizens & the immigrants in Canada after getting Canadian PR using it as a gateway to America, they're actually moving to a better country like USA America. Not going back to their home countries like India, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Nigeria, Romania, Greece, Ukraine, Phillipines, Vietnam, Venuzvela, Colombia etc.. Most either move to US apply for a work visa & Green Card for citizenship. Or if they're 'money minded' & highly skilled in demanded professions, they move to Dubai, Kuwait, Doha Qatar, all the Middle East GCC Gulf countries, where they earn twice the money in Gulf, than they might earn in USA, like Surgeons, Doctors, Software Engineers, IT etc

I've been thinking of leaving Canada as well. It's hard to find good jobs here, you'll work yourself to death trying to keep a roof over you head and yo pay your bills, and I can just go on and on. I was born and raised here, yet it no longer feels like home, things are getting worse here. All I keep thinking about is the time I went to visit ghana. I don't know how to describe it but to me they looked free, they had a sense of genuine warmth and community that you dont get here.

It made me really sad to hear stories like this when I went to school. We had 3 Indian students in our class and I became good friends with one of them. He was 16K in debt with the recruiter that sent him here, and was expected to pay for his brothers upcoming wedding. His dad used to be a farmer but he was disabled now so his parents couldnt contribute anything. He worked 3 jobs and lived in a house crammed with 6 international students. He is now back in India and married with a beautiful baby, but I dont know if he has paid down that debt. I worry about him

I have recently (and over the years) lived in many provinces. And even though I am from there (most recently 2021), Alberta has no business being anywhere near the top of the list. No one I know makes a paycheck like that and they all work 2-3 jobs to make less than what is reported. Education is low to terrible in most places outside a city, as is healthcare. The summers are either too cold or too hot and dry, and the winters are too cold, too snowy and too windy. \nIt also doesn't help most people are angry and racist. \n\nBut it was a fun interesting list nonetheless!

Canada has a history of doing things like this in 50s and 60s it was immigrants from the Caribbean who were brought here through the West Indies scheme and made to work in factories and as domestic servants.

International students are fine, but the issue begins when those students later apply to the country’s jobs. People living in the country need a place to work and it’s impossible if international students use their degrees to get a job in that country. Getting an international education really just means that you wanna move out of your home country and work/live somewhere else ?‍♂️. People do zero research before applying to an international college and are forced to live like dirt.

Sounds like a good plan and I propose that they allow all of those newcomers to move to every province except Ontario and Quebec because they have enough people. I would also propose that all newcomers by fluent in English so to not put the burden on taxe payers for paying for their education for decades before they are able to work in places where they are needed.

We can't not afford more immigrants ,when they arrive we give them free medical..and social benefices we older people we had pay for that free medcal by our high income taxes high taxes.we didn't have any help from the governement to raise our children.we work 2 or 3 jobs they dont'work because they don 't know french or english.we don't have any appartement, the hospitals are 150% full we don't have enough teacher ,enough doctor and you want to bring more people.ask them to go on a farm and raise thei own animal and have garden to feed their family like our ancestor did

Well I already left the Canada last year after having lived for 5 years. I am in my early 30s , south asian immigrant. I had a good paying job. I left because more so because of the social isolation and the pandemic measures. Plus I feel most Canadians may seem polite , but not friendly as in - extremely hard to make friends. Ethnic groups stick to themselves and don't mix. I found dating to be extremely hard and toxic. People have high individualistic mentality and don't open up.\n\nI am now in working in Mexico / Latin America and my mental health has greatly improved. I am able to socialize and women here aren't as stuck up as in Canada. Real world interactions are valued here unlike in Canada where it's all about the apps and social media. Also who doesn't like some good consistent sunshine. Overall , I am happy to have left Canada and am not coming back.

I came to Canada back in 2021 from Mexico to pursue an MBA in Vancouver. All in all, I definitely have a lot to thank Canada for: a new career, new friends, and better work/life balance, to mention a few. I was supper happy to land in tech after graduating and working as a Product Manager for a Vancouver start up. Career wise, though, I sometimes am a bit thrown off with just how more competitive are salaries, jobs, and overall career advancement in the U.S. On top of that, the current housing situation Canada-wide is unbearable for Canadians and newcomers alike, and I frankly don't know whether I'll ever be able to save enough money for a down payment. I wonder what your stance is in regards to continuing on a career as a PM, especially coming from Anastasia. How has your journey in Canada looked like? Thank you I'd rather stay in india and invest that money rather spend it on some University no place like home and some of these colleges don't have proper documentation hence you won't get stay back or work permit most of their targets are students from rural India

In all fairness, some of these students have very unrealistic expectations of what employment in Canada looks like. I have a family member who is a store manager at a Canada wide clothing retail store. Students are coming in and asking for $22/HR to work part-time doing sales/cash.

I feel sorry about those students being misled and going through such experience but I know that there are a responsible agencies and schools out there to support international students to succeed. On the other hand, I unfortunately witnessed some landlord(permanent residents) facing so much trouble with those with international students or working holiday visa like unpaid rent, breaking the rental agreement and damaging the property. Well, in my personal opinion, there should be a system in place to educate temporary residents before their visa is issued and to guide them to the right direction upon their arrival.

Yeah it's hard to find a job and keep the job in Canada. Even with a job that doesn't require education and anybody can do, I come across someone who is not happy with me being there and they try to find reasons why I shouldn't work there ?it happened 16 years ago when I first got into workforce and it happened not too long ago again. I was inventory clerk counting products at different stores. I believe I was an accurate counter and someone who recounted them told my manager I wasn't good. She said many of them I counted were either off or she couldn't understand my writing. And the manager had to have a talk with me. I can honestly say I was better counter than she was. And I feel very confident I was very careful with counting that day too. But she thought otherwise. I couldn't bear working with someone or some people who didn't appreciate my work or my presence there so I had to quit. It will happen again and I thought it wouldn't matter how accurate I am at counting. One of my Canadian colleagues once told me that it's okay for immigrants to live in Canada but it's not okay to work with them. I don't know if that's a fact but in my experience I have encountered some people like that along the way.

Btw, garanty of success, of employment, doesn't exist and it's baked in the capitalism system that private enterprise and private college prioritize profits (btw, for non Canadian, education, is not subsidized). \nNow, if illegal/fraud practices are occurring, then like any Canadian, you will have to make a complaint to the police and/or take legal action (basically If you don't have money, you're F!). \n \nMaybe the Ontario government should have more stringent laws for private Colleges and recruiting agencies, like mandatory advertising for: \n\t- the required money for subsistence and the low likelihood of finding a good job that will enable students to work; \n\t- the % failure, homelessness, suicide,... \n\t- mental and social stress, differences,... \n \nMaybe Canada could: \n\t- be more stringent with student visa and have a written acknowledgement that states all the risks and pitfalls. \n\t- Guive visa only if the recruiting was done through accredited agencies \n\t- Do official advertisements in India about the risks and requirements of studying abroad. \n \nMaybe a full capitalism society is not moral, but it's the system we decided to live in.

hmm .. when I worked in Japan for about a year locals told me that if I wanted to obtain Japanese citizenship I had to either perform a heroic act saving lives, marry a Japanese woman or officially employed in Japan for at least ten years. Just residing in Japan doesn't count. I have also heard that the notorious Nigerian crooks of Tokyo marry Japanese women to obtain citizenship. Reading the comments, I am stunned Canada hands out citizenship like napkins, are we talking about dual citizenship here??? and what about when they don't like the cold and decide to leave, they still can keep that citizenship like some sort of collector's badge? Colleges like Sheridan College and scores of private colleges with partnerships with northern colleges are the cause of this mess. Canadian education quality has gone down the drain. None of these are genuine students. All finding a way to come work from day 1 and get PR. ApplyBoard is milking this and the government supports this. Shameful!

the part where the one student in India is asked why he wants to go in Canada and he says he wants a white collar job and the life he dreamed of which I would imagine entails a Canadian wife as well? The USA is getting a lot of people from Africa and South and Central America, and I imagine many will go back because Americans do have to work hard and if you come from a country that has warm weather year-round it is going to be a huge shock. Doctors are exhausted, rude and over worked, emergency rooms are a disaster and if you book an appointment to see your doctor...be sure you're waiting at least a week. If you go to a walk in clinic you risk getting a doctor that seems like they paid for a fake degree.\n\nYou know when you go to a mall in one town and then hear about a mall in another town that has really cool different things??? Ya, not here! Everything is monopolized! Same stores everywhere you go. there's a mall in Toronto called Vaughn Mills mall, when I was in Calgary they have an exact replica just a different name. Small businesses are hard to keep because everything is so expensive. There needs to be more indoor things for people to do in the winter. \n\nWhoever said Canadians are polite, has never been to Alberta!!!! I've never experienced racism in my life like I did out west, not just Alberta but also Northwest Territories and Manitoba. \n\nOn top of that they want everyone to be gay and not believe in God, they push the agenda so hard in the schools, they institutionalize and confuse your kids.
