Hardly anyone here cares about why they’re fleeing their own country. No one wants to have to do that. They know their lives will be a struggle here adjusting but at least they aren’t there with whatever all problems they’re dealing with. If our country totally fell apart and threats of dying were happening, I wonder how these same people would feel about relocating to survive with their kids and parents.

I live in a small city in Saskatchewan. We have an influx of immigrants every year and the housing availability is next to none. Jobs are hard to find, rent is really high, groceries are high. Obviously not as bad as Vancouver or Toronto, but it's not great. I don't see a great future for anyone living here at the moment.

I find it so amusing that Canadians always have to preface everything with self righteous boasting about how multicultural they are, how their city has a world class this and that—in this case—film festival etc. etc. I have never been anywhere in Europe for example where first anyone even mentions Canada much except to say that there are a lot of trees. And no one in real cities with a culture like Paris, Madrid, Berlin harp on how world class they are or how multicultural they are. Also, in terms of immigration, give me a break—you have obviously not travelled anywhere—go to Berlin, Paris, New York etc. to see people from all over the world. Canadians have been told through the internal propaganda that Canada is the best country in the world—but it’s not.

Ummmmm I don’t think some Palestinian anyone for that matter want to stay in a conflict justified or unjustified. The Arab nation should first give an open door policy for a temporary shelter or refugee like the Europeans or America did for Ukraine. This notion that Palestinians don’t want to leave for a temporary refugee is very questionable. Just open your country and see if they will not go!!! Anyone is a free country should choice to evacuate to a safer country like Saudi, UAE, Bahrain or other golf countries. Instead of giving them aid or other form of support, give them a sanctuary and if they decide not to go back, then give them other options. Palestinians should not be dictated to stay in a conflict zone special the women and children. Even African countries rich or poor, open their doors to their neighbors during war like it happen in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda and you can count many!!! Recently in Ukraine, Germany, Poland and other Ukraine neighbors, received millions of Ukrainians and never have they said Ohhhhh Ukraine love their land and they want to stay in Ukraine or they will lose their land when they left!!!!! Canadian employers and often hiring managers are very very conservatives and risk adverse. Both as someone who grew up here, worked abroad and came back, the whole process for getting a job (as well as seeing how my colleagues behave as hiring managers / HR), it feels we are decades behind most countries in how we hire. \n\nIf not for my previous Canadian experience before going abroad, it would've been much harder for me to get any employment here. Moreover hiring managers are insanely close minded relatively, I've had countless discussions with people who would rather go with a worse candidate that they know from previous or referral than someone who's obviously more qualified / knowledgeable. It's also possible that the hiring managers have no confidence in their own ability to gauge skills (long LONG rant in this regard...), so they always prefer to go the safest route (for themselves) rather than take any risk on someone who's more skilled.\n\nCanada is (well.. used to, 10 years+ ago) great to live but it's horrendous to make a living.\n\nwith everything going to a shitshow over last decade... we can't even have the first half of that sentence anymore. I now fully expect my kids to leave the country when they look for work and it's probably best for their careers / entrepeneurships (ANOTHER part canada is just hostile to SMBs).\n\nTransportation... yeah, anyone who's lived abroad will consider Canada public transport to be very very low tier. however, you tell that to life time Canadians and they'll be super offended, aggressively defensive how great it is, etc.

I was born in Canada but I'm married to an immigrant, a hard-working model citizen who is loved by everyone, we have a child together and we've now decided to move back to Japan. I will not have my daughter grow up under sharia law. I'm educated enough to know what happens when we allow Islam power. Aside from this war Palestinians, lebanese and Syrians are never welcomed in the gulf countries with open arms anyways. For example let's say a palestinian persons family works and live in Kuwait and they want to visit their family whether it is their parents etc, the Kuwaiti authorities will force them to apply for a visa the long and hard way through the Kuwaiti embassy. However on the other hand Canadians, Americans and British who are strong Israeli supporters are allowed to enter these same gulf countries with ease in a visa on arrival basis. This is not even to consider war. This is generally speaking. Can anyone see the hypocrisy of the arab world here in regards to the Palestinian cause as well as the other fellow neighboring countries?

America needs to not help the Mexicans financially so they don't keep coming over. anyone hiring any person with out a green card or any type of permission should lose their license business and stop business immediately. The Saudi's had no problem kicking tens of thousands of Jews out of their land back in the late 40's and early 50's. Islamic countries kicked out almost 1 million Jews and stole just about everything they had. Israel took in every last one of them. In Contrast, Jordan killed 25,000 Palestinians back then. The Arab Spring saw over 200,000 Palestinians die by the hands of other Muslim Arabs. Anyone complain about that? Nope. So his answer is nonsense.

All the friends I had in Vancouver who had immigrated to Canada within the last twenty years decided to return home. All of them. The one friend sold their house for over a million in Vancouver, and is now living like a king back in Slovakia, having bought several properties back home. One couple hated Canada so much that they returned to South Africa, and you know how bad it is there! The living wage on the southern coast of BC is $24-$27/hr. Most jobs in BC don’t pay that well. How anyone is surviving is beyond me.

Theres no reason for these hospital staff shortage (same with the US shortage). They could make tuition for nurses and doctors more affordable but they just aren't. What incentive does anyone have to go into those feilds - yes you'll have a job but you can expect a ton of debt, long days with poor staffing.
