How many politicians out there own, or rent out their properties to gain income. This inflation will REALLY help their portfolio $$$. They are taking advantage of the crisis! When the government fails in its responsibility, they seek someone to blame. International students are paying tuition fees 10 times higher than home students, yet the blame is unfairly shifted onto them for causing the housing crisis. Students are merely being used as an excuse by a failing government. Schools and government officials need to take responsibility instead of misleading the public.

Arab nations did take in Palestinians before right? In Jordan and Lebanon? Didn’t the Palestinians assassinate the Jordan King and caused a civil war in Lebanon? Canada has been avoiding the root cause of the fertility rate issue instead of fixing it. Canadians are replaced with immigrants. Immigrants are used as cogs in the system. The government always finds a way to make things worse with its shortsighted policies.

The infrastructure across Canada is not in place to handle a large influx of population. The health care and education systems and housing across the country are underfunded and the federal gov. which rakes in 86% of tax revenues is not giving the provinces their fair share and expects them to keep the infrastructure functioning effectively anyway. The universities are using international students to make up the deficit caused by the lack of funding and help form the federal government. In the process the Canadian students are being shafted because they pay less tuition even though their parents are still paying for most of the upkeep of the institutions of higher learning.

The answer is yes. Those students know that it is a ticket to stay. A foot in the door. They are a strain on government services, housing, food banks and most come here without proper resources that is one of the requirements for entry. Even if they pay more it shouldn't take spaces that Canadian should be entitled to. They take jobs that belong to Canadians, housings that belong to Canadians. In london ontario close to 12 thousand international students take up the affordable housing for people of london. This causes so much distress on the low income people try to find a place .Then greed of developers and landlords causes the rents to go up so much that those on fixed incomes can't afford there rents and rent evictions happen as landlord look to cash in . Time to stop this madness. Local government in london has done little to stop this issue either.

Yes, as much as most people don't want to admit it, we don't have the housing or resources to take in so many. And not just students but our immigration levels are off the charts in all areas.\n\nI have no issue with someone wanting to come here hoping for a better life, but thats not a legal right that we have n obligation for. Yeah they are cause more then 50 children's from my community got admission in Canadian university who merely passed their high school....so I was not surprised cause 13 years ago same thing happened in UK and 99 percent of those student came back crying within six months....

Canada is no longer a country but an economic zone. Just a bunch of people living in the same place. Every study on the issue says the same thing. This lack of homes and never ending immigration with no pause reminds me of the US southern border. They just let them churn in like machines parts on a assembly line (refugee factories instead of immigration factories but low skilled workers) and the court system is overwhelmed to see these people for their appointment to determine if they're eligible to stay. All these problems are caused by Globalists which are mostly to the left. This is their form of Capitalism to get rich off the backs of citizens and the needy.

Altogether, the damage to this country by bringing in so many international students will cause Canadian citizens to immigrate elsewhere, including me at some point. It's hard to have this discussion sometimes as people will say you're being offensive, but really, I doubt the current climate of Canada is satisfactory for these overseas students either, their housing and job options here are poor and this affects Canadian citizes. If you go to places like Vancouver or Ottawa, it's completely unrecognizable to the unregulated amount of international students who are typically in poor situations.

It's all about the money. The schools kinda need them for that reason alone cause the locals just cannot make these schools economically feasible. From the POV of those students, they are taking a chance of getting a PR hopefully. As visas for studying is easier to obtain vs say other forms of visa like investment or to have a local company sponsor you for work...
