In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become the North Korea of the western world.\n\nTheir are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions and the various other benefits, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia.

I am a Toronto Native, a nurse that used to work in Critical Care at Sunnybrook, but moved to Dubai as my husband received a job offer. That was more than 10yrs ago. I must say that every time I visit home, things are definitely worse. I notice that ppl are very negative and also rude. It's quite startling. I also see how much the demographics have changed as well. The city is also dirtier and not as pretty. I can say that if I ever returned, I would consider Vancouver, somewhere outside of the city, or on the island, but for now, I can say that I will never return to live in Toronto., We will go someplace else like Mexico where it's close enough for family to visit and it's close to home. Btw, Toronto is NOT the most diverse city in the world, it's Dubai, and UAE as a whole, where 85% of the population is born outside of the country.

4-5 months of the year, it's miserably cold. Our nation's capital, Ottawa, is virtually uninhabitable for 3 months every year due to dangerous wind chill values. Healthcare is a disgrace. Cities aren't worth the money. The nation's too massive for public transit to be viable anywhere rent is low enough to live in. Most of us know Poilievre should be flushed down a giant toilet, but it's way WAY past time that Trudeau resigns/retires.

cause it's not the land of milk and honey. I'd leave too if I could. We are highly taxed, no decent health care, Unaffordable housing, way behind other countries when it comes to vacation time amounts.....

I came here as a student back in 2017 it took me more than 5 years to understand the system.. I lost so many things after all this years.. Now things have changed for everyone.. My time has come to live my rest of my life in a better place...

Good it’s about time?

This is a shame, I myself am an immigrant. I , along with multitudes, do not see a reason to move out.\n\nThe system is misused. Most of these get the Permanent Residence stamped on their passport or citizenship done only to jump to other countries. Just have a more refined selection process. \nLove Canada for opening its door and am grateful for that. The people are welcoming and accommodating. \nPeople always find something to crib on forever, in fact it is these very same people who came knocking here in times of desperation only to complain about taxes now when they have benefited from the various offers are done with.

Spent my whole life in Toronto. Even though I grew up in one of the poorest neighborhoods at the time, it was a paradise compared to the hole it is now. When I retire and my parents pass on, I will sell all and leave the asylum to the lunatics. Screw this place! I want to move to an area with NO social services to breed the rot that consumed the city of my birth.

Wish I had the power to just jump around around any country I want to , every time it gets hard to live , can’t even get a job else where let alone live … all this dual citizenship needs to stop

Any country that I have visited is a great time. But after a week or 2, I'm always ready to go home. There's no place like home.

The Canadian economy is in stagnation (at best). The real estate in the mean time stays in a bubble (partly due to inflation and partly to that very unsustainable immigration policy). Labor market is as good as dead (at least for qualified skilled workers) - with too many businesses (including oil and gas) in decline or leaving. And the overall quality of life as well as the future outlook for young and new Canadians are in decline. Try to fix all that first!

I think the best time to come to Canada is when, and if, Trudeau gets out of power.

Cause before we came, when we had very solid work history and sought after credentials ( teachers, doctors, nurses) we were told that our credentials would be recognized. It turns out that there is endless redtape, overworked or incompetent institutions, and after 4, 5, or 6 years we are still dealing with bureaucracy and unable to work in our field and paying insane living costs. By the time we get our credentials recognized we have bern out of our field so long that our CV looks like crap. The smart ones leave before that, the dumb ones like me leave after, worse off, angry, and after having wasted their own money along with Canada's money fir years

This is good and honest review. You did not succeed because you did not go with that mindset. In my case, I was working in India as a Class I gazetted officer with Govt of India. When I got PR, I resigned from the job, just because I knew there is struggle in Canada. If I have an option, I would have definitely gone back. My Dad and my father-in-law, both Govt officers at that time, were upset with me for resigning. They were OK with me going to Canada, but did not like the idea of leaving such a good job. I did struggle initially and did survival jobs, like working in factories etc, but I DO NOT regret my decision at all. But again, it is individual's choice what is their goal. Mine was to give my kids world's perspective. Now they are free to go anywhere in the world, including India. My elder one 26 and younger one 22, have visited so many countries without taking a single penny from me. Their world view is very balanced ... they are very empathetic - thanks to Canadian education system - including school level.

The high rate of housing affordability, education and health! You need to work more than 2 jobs to pay rent and barely make it. What time you relax, travel, go for walks, etc.. No more the Canada of the dreams!

The trouble is Canada is not taking itself seriously. The reality is culture matters. When you dump millions of people into a place over a short period of time, there is bound to be turmoil. The housing crisis. The Balkanization of different cultural groups. The watering down of Canada‘s original culture (the culture that made country desirable in the first place). The low salaries versus cost of living. The reality is this has been brewing for a while, and is only coming to a head now. The solutions are there, but you are “racist” if you say anything. A 90% reduction in immigration would be a good start. Then, a reduction in the size of a bloated government. Incentives for people to have families again. People should be having 2 to 3 kids on average again. A return to Jesus couldn’t hurt as the country was built on Judeo-Christian values. Then, the country will grow organically and will have some hope of becoming great again!

The government hasn’t improved productivity in decades and would rather immigrate cheap labour. Based on this rationale, the time for UBI was over a decade ago. The government has failed at all levels of economic policy, or is intentionally harming citizens with an ulterior motive that they are not vocalizing. My pitchfork is getting rusty.

The problem is that people from other countries actually get to ENJOY their lives when they were living their homelands, even with serious careers. In Canada, there is NO ENJOYMENT and they have realized that if they stay here it's a life of slavery that they have entered. It's all about work, slavery, high cost of living, stress and slavery (waves of paying rent, bills, debt etc.) until you die. Hardly and social life and no potential or time for healthy for self actualization. Immigrants are waking up.

it is time for politicians to think about investing in CANADIANS, improve incentives for having children by CANADIANS, better social services for CANADIANS, improve our education systems to encourage CANADIANS to take over the job opportunities. use the money for refugees and asylum seekers for tuitions for post-secondary education for CANADIANS. In the time that it takes someone to go to school or learn a trade the economy will change and there will no longer be a demand. Nobody in the pre-apprentiship trades programs 5 years ago got jobs, and even now they probably won't take apprentices. They are outsourcing cheap labour so they don't have to train Canadians. The local Mcdonalds is under investigation because they would only hire Pilipino Temp workers.

I got here with my wife less than a year ago. My employer doesn't pay what is stated on my work contract. I think there's a lot of abuse from employers on immigrants coming in on closed work permits. The reason we've stayed is because we've invested a lot of time and effort into getting here just to give up easily. Had we known it would be like this, we would have probably not come. Mind you, not all employers are like this, I just happened to run into bad luck. I know of other cases in which this happens and it's infuriating. My wife is a nurse and cant work here as one due to restrictions in her work permit. I guess there's no demand in the healthcare industry here...

Living in Toronto is the worst part of my life. It has made me extremely negative - I just hate being there and constantly\nComplain. I have been lucky enough to travel for months at a time, and get to see how amazing other countries and cities are. But it has just opened my eyes to how awful Toronto is, and I dread the last few days of vacation because I know I have to go back to my downtown shoebox, listen to sirens and hate my existence again. Desperately want to leave, and hoping to this year, but the day to day is just so bad. I make decent money but haven’t been able to save a thing due to the high cost of living. The winter is coming and I dread that so so so deeply. F this city, I’m sorry.

Boy, the government sure screwed things up didn't they? Nobody to work building new homes, old homes are astronomical in price. Looks like it's time for everyone to leave.

The sad part of this is that it's the immigrants that we want that are dragging up and leaving, the ones with degrees in medical and engineering. I had exactly the same experiences in 2002 when I went(and came back) on PR to Canada. Getting into a proper paying job in your own profession is the most herculean task in itself. The necessity of a car due to extreme harsh weather most of the months and then initially affording only a basement with mostly indoor activities during non-summer months takes a huge toll on one’s mental well being. Most of the jobs are regulated in Canada so getting an equivalent clearance and compatibility for a job is no easy task at all otherwise you’ll end up doing only sundry manual help jobs around which too aren’t available easily. I found a lot of positivities and possibilities too in Canadian life but then be prepared to sacrifice a lot for many years and then maybe you realise you have a lot more to loose than gain! So as this blogger said Go to Canada first on say a tourist visa to friends or family, stay and spend some time and money too and then make a long term decision to come and stay forever or not. But in the meantime don’t quit your job or business back in India till you come to a final outcome?

I`ve moved to Canada long time ago. Well I disagree with about 60% of what you said. Canada is not what you described it... It is a great place to live, we are people of frontier.

Have resided in America for a period of time...in a smaller community.. the Americans are beautiful warm people which I met..Canadians are quick to bias there opinion of america..if your free enterprising I had a wonderfully time there..and willing to understand Americans think quite different . Americans say what they need in negotiations Canadians say what are you prepared to give me outta the deal.....as for other respondents fear of safety and socialist needs..there are general laws in both countries which protect all.......Canadian see is legacy media accounts of violent events... America's population is 10 x s that of Canada are greatly inflluenced buy Canadian legacy brand media .
