I know the past actions of people greatly influence lives today.As a citizen of Canada I think all of us have to accept each others culture and color..we can learn alot from each other!!Racism goes both ways..whites against blacks...black against white..this really has to stop so we can move on! RE: Canadian healthcare, my wife broke both her hips in 2017 in two separate falls, she was admitted immediately to hospital without delay and operated on the next day (half hip replacement), after physio and occupational therapy she was discharged and provided Homecare, 16 times per week plus weekly Day Hospital. Our cost for both operations was roughly $160.00 for parking spots for me so I could visit her and about $140 in Tim Horton doughnuts for staff. The system does not have enough of certain types of specialists thus wait times for those specialists, and there are wait times for elective surgery. The system has not really been reviewed since its inception in the 1960s but making significant changes is the third rail of Canadian politics and a hard look is justified after 70 years. Re: illegal crossings; The gentleman in the video has a problem in that the US and Canada have signed a “safe country” agreement and neither will accept refugees from the other as both Canada and the US are deemed “safe havens”. He crossed illegally, if he had crossed legally he would have been immediately turned back at the border but he clearly entered the country between border crossings and was likely arrested and released on recognizance but not returned immediately as the agreement is silent on illegal entries (yes, seems a touch strange). Tent cities have been set up in Quebec and public housing used in Manitoba to house illegal immigrant pending processing - those with criminal records are held for deportation. Canada has accepted roughly 25,000 Syrian refugees from camps in that part of the world. These refugees were first vetted by the UN then Canada. These refugees are completely different from the people crossing the border illegally from the United States. This pales to the 75,000 boat people accepted after the fall of Saigon. Canadians have been generally accepting of refugees but wants the process guided by the rule of law. Immigrants are a separate from refugees and the rules governing their entries into Canada are different.

Think Canada is stupid bringing Syrian refugee? No they know which ones to accept and which not to in terms of qualifications. Further they will be citizens contributing to the economy through tax. If he just went through the proper channels in the US he wouldn’t be having these issues in Canada. Now he’s an undocumented and illegal worker in Canada and is taking advantage of the system. Canada does have stricter immigration laws than the States. I’m all fine with Canada accepting immigrants as long as they do it the legal way and go through the due process that the government has put in place. Getting a visa or any form of legal residence in Canada is a pain in the ass, I know because I've tried. I was gonna move up there full time from Los Angeles at one point and I spent 10 full months applying and waiting and still got denied. I wasn't even a refugee either, they make you prove what you have to contribute to the country as far as skills and education and it's very difficult to get accepted

Can you show the professor to Belgium please. I prefer a Canadian over an American or a German because our racism exceeds all borders. On a daily basis I experience black racism on an unheard scale. When we learn to look upon one another with compassion regardless of their race, religion or personal belief's and look instead at the heart of an individual, only then will we make strides to heal and to connect one another across Canada and the world. There's an overwhelming racism borne of intolerance for one another and intolerance is borne in my opinion often of fear. When we don't understand someone, we do tend to make up something to line the box that we force someone to live from but would never accept the same for ourselves. If you see someone being berated, being treated differently then you yourself would accept, you owe it to yourself and to the one being hurt to stand up and to intervene. just watched the national on the cbc and an muslim guest said that canadians are accepting, tolerant, kind, etc --- I ask why are muslims not? they do not seem to tolerate becoming canadian - accepting our customs and when confronted some of them are really agressive (but that's just my experience) ... and then there's MO, a good friend of mine (his name is mohammed but prefers Mo - he says it causes less problems in these times) why are immigrates against integrating into our customs - it seems to me our customs are pretty good. we don't believe gays should be thrown off buildings - we don't believe someone who steals should have a hand chopped off, we do not believe that an atheist should be decapitated.
