I live in a little country town 500km from Melbourne, great hospital, free medical care, bought 3 nice houses here from selling an apartment in Melbourne - and unlike Canada or the US, we dont need to pay any tips or any of those pesky extra taxes you always add onto everything !

Canada was always a great alternative to the USA for immigration in my mind, most of the advantages of USA without the big negatives. After seeing some videos similar like this I'm choosing another country, thanks for all the info.

Seriously considering moving back to India!! After living in Canada for more than 2 decades, retiring here with the meagre income means skipping meals and maybe wear layers instead of high heating bills. \nAlthough conditions in India may not be as idyllic, but food and living costs are way cheaper and one can lead a decent and healthy life without having to starve it out !!\nWhat happened to the Canadian dream !! Exactly what you are describing ie crime, unemployment, broken infrastructure, is the same across tge West. There are left wing governments right across the West the US, Canada, UK, EU are dystopian left wing nightmares. They have huge numbers of uneducated immigrants or qualified people where there are no jobs available, massive welfare programs which are unfunded, weak social laws which allows criminals back onto the streets. Don’t come to Canada. Housing is expensive, food is expensive, taxes are high and rising. If you do come to Canada bring your own tent so you have a place to live after you get tired of the homeless shelter. Don’t worry there are plenty of tent cities all over the country but do your research because some of them are dangerous. Don’t get sick because it’s hard to find a doctor and the emergency rooms are backed up for many hours to see a doctor. Violent crime is on the rise as well. I’m doing ok but will leave Canada when I retire.

I found a great little place to live in south east Asia during a total of six months stay there. \n Canada is not the free and family friendly country that I grew up in where a family could have a home and enjoy life on a single average income. \n Flying out again in 2024. The image of Canada the Good has been mere CBC propaganda. The fact of the matter is Canada has been going downhill for more than a generation. This is because of the bloated bureaucracy at all government levels. Those are the jobs the university grads get instead of good high-paying jobs in expanding industry. We also have been undergoing de-industrialization from NAFTA with jobs in the auto sector moving to Mexico. Globalization has meant that Canadian Jobs are sacrificed for the Global agenda. The green energy sector in its present form can in no way make up for the losses being engineered by the Federal Government. A lot of our dissatisfaction resides in Ottawa.

I grew up in Canada from age 15 years old, and somehow, at age 18, I became a chef . Life was easy and lovely in montreal, used to make $400 a week, pay rent 600 a month, and had very simple and happy life in montreal, then I endup up in montreal Casino ,lost all my savings and total of 120k credit card, long story short moved to Melbourne Australia 2012 again my addiction cost me another 150k of my first 5 years working here making around 1000k a week ,at the start of 2018 stop gambling and try to recovery from mental ,emotional and financial of my ediction, now I save up 250k Australians and have roof over my head and 3 little kid's, not happy as montreal but I guess was good call ,to get out and try new country, I'm not as happy as montreal because love canada and montreal specialy, but boy my beloved country not doing so good

I'm Indonesian, I didn't expect Canada to be like that, the economic crisis is so big, in Indonesia there are many Canadians who have moved to Indonesian citizenship,However, Canadians in Indonesia mostly work as athletes in sports such as basketball, football and others, indeed in Indonesia the finances for sports athletes, especially for foreign athletes, are quite large.There are many well-known sports athletes in Canada who have moved as Indonesian citizens and there are hundreds of sports athletes from other countries who have moved as Indonesian citizens.

I just got my PR last July and landed Vancouver in November. I would say Canada is beautiful and peaceful in general, but when it comes to support a family here, it would be totally a nightmare for newcomers.
