Right now is probably the worst time to come here. With global recession and post-pandemic hardship, everyone is feeling the pinch. Small businesses are closing down as they could not repay back the relief loans given by the government during the pandemic. Trudeau’s policy of immigration through the educational stream and admitting so many refugees from Syria and Ukraine have caused massive rent increase - too many people chasing after lower real estate supply. Because people are feeling the pinch, crimes are up and homelessness has become a serious issue. But, here are the (long-term) advantages of living here, vs. The Philippines:\n- free healthcare - no matter how rich you are back home, wealth can be depleted if a major illness strikes;\n- free education for your kids up to highschool and opportunity for your kids to enter worldclass universities after highschool;\n- government programs that actually work - Worker rights are upheld, doleouts when you lose your job, 12-month mat/paternity leave, doleout/govt match when you save for yr kid’s university educ, tax rebates for whatever you save for retirement, retirement income even if you never held a job, infrastructures are maintained, transparency and stability of political system; \n- safer environment - yes, greater crimes lately, but still one of the safest places to live. I live in greater Toronto, and sometimes we forget to lock our door at night or leave a bicycle outside and nothing happens;\n- commitment to the environment - the country adheres to protecting the envt. You can drink water from the faucet. Strict laws on recycling and waste disposal. Greenbelt protection on forest and conservation park areas, even in the cities. Canada also has the world’s biggest water supply...in today’s global climate change, were decades away from water wars;\n- a beautiful country with friendly, humble and relaxed people who observe work-life balance

Because of bleeding heart liberals, people from all over the world know that if they go to Canada or America, they will find a government or NGOs(which are a scam, that is your money), that will feel sorry for them, and provide free housing, food, clothing, healthcare, dental care etc for them. While we in the U.S. have tens of thousands of homeless veterans. This is the most evil thing I have seen in my 49 years. Taking care of veterans and homeless veterans before anyone else should be PRIORITY #1, after Bush sent them into countries to start at least unjust wars

My parents left Canada with me as a child. In 2014 I moved back to Vancouver. I bought 3 houses in Alberta where homes are cheaper. It was a struggle to survive in Canada. In Alberta the government fines you for not having shoveled the snow on your sidewalk in -40 weather when no one is walking around anyway. The people who rented my houses were all using drugs and a nightmare and protected by laws. The rents in Vancouver are astronomical and shopping very expensive. I sold it all and left in 2021 and now travel the world and make YouTube videos and living the dream and saving a ton of money.

I know of a situation where a canadian woman was living with a man who after he got his pr call the cops on him saying he rape her. He is now in jail because of her lie and can't wait to leave as this seems to be the norm for women there to use the men then get them in jail by lying to the cops. We had to move out from Brampton bc it become terrible place to live. 3000 sq ft beautiful homes in nice subdivision. House next to us, 4 families in one house crowded like rats. Indian music playing laud in garage on Sundays. About 15 kids seating on top of 6 ft fence staring in our backyard. Couldn’t enjoy life anymore. Crime start to spike. Canada's government aren't build the accomodation such a housing, while people keep come to the country and it's not balanced and that's make an inflation.

Yeah once recent immgrants have slept outside the shelter referral center for a couple of months they quickly learn that the government does not care about them. I was born and raised here. I am doing my exit plan as I cannot afford to live here as young-adult living on my own. If you just show up in Canada as an illegal immigrant or refugee, your application will be free and fast tracked. You will also receive financial support from the government. Canada is short 5.8 million homes. CMHC and builder's association latest number were around 3 million, but that low number was assuming a population of 38 million people. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Many of these immigrants obtained their desired education, obtained a Canadian passport as backup security and then they’re moving on to what they view/perceive as better financial prospects elsewhere. Why does this happen is simple to explain. Newcomers to Canada won't leave their customs behind and many will try to fool the Canadian Government into free handouts ect...ect. As Canadian born raised here we've tremdious growth over the decades specially inside areas outside the GTA. One the biggest issues facing everyone here besides immigrants is taxes / inflation. Our government only looks at those coming from India as cash cow to keep things rolling economically more people more taxes are paid. Canada needs to start being more economic minded by reducing all taxes abroad to make cost of living more affordable.

Canada's Student population doubled in 3 years and Canada went from 7th highest Foreign Student Population per capita to 2nd, so the Canadian Student housing situation worsened quickly. So the Trudeau Government put a cap on Foreign Students and offered low interest loans to Universities to immediately expand Student housing. Canada has seen NO drop in citizen applications and still refuses far more applications then it approves. So with even Canada's low birth rate still combined with immigration Canada's population is the fastest growing per capita of Western Democracies at an annual population increase of over 1 million people a year. The headline is wrong. These people they interviewed are not permanent residents. Therefore they can’t apply for citizenships. They interviewed these Indians who were international students. Who come here misrepresenting themselves in their visa applications. Pretending to be students but come here to work and stay. It is true there are pr or naturalized citizens of Canada that leave the country to move back to their home country or move to another country but not all are Indians.

I'm a PR working in Canada, and my parents visit me once every few years. During this recent visit, they really noticed Canadians are suffering from high prices and crazy housing compared to before. The government needs to act and come up with some effective policy.

Canada doesn’t have the infrastructure to support immigration at the scale it wants. It’s not just housing. It’s hospitals, schools, gov’t service centres—not only is everything expensive, it’s inefficient too. I genuinely feel bad for the immigrants coming here based on the Canadian governments empty promises and being left with nothing like the rest of us. I don’t know how Canada can fix this but if this keeps getting any worse the country is just going to fall apart at the seams.

That is really long, and so long enough for people to find else better jobs outside of Canada.\n\nIn Canada, government officials are Crown servants not people’s servants.
