Not only immigrants; my Canadian born children left Canada in 2016. Now U.S. citizens living and working in Alameda County, California.\nNot planning to return.

Canadians are leaving because America’s border is wide open

It is soooo ridiculous expecting an immigrant with a Phd & 10 years of non Canadian work experince to be a cleaner or taxi driver. I hope all of them leave Canada ASAP.

David Rosenberg, a prominent Canadian economist, questions the logic behind increasing immigration amidst a 40% drop in production rates. Many residents with strong ties abroad contribute minimally to the economy, often sending earnings overseas. This trend raises concerns about the effectiveness of immigration policies, suggesting a potential exploitation of Canada's economy. In other words, there's a need to recruit immigrants who can actively contribute to growing the Canadian economy and ensure policies align with national economic interests.

we can’t even house our own people on the streets or continue to create jobs for those already here. Being a youth from small town Alberta, unable to land work, seeing our local job market being bought up by immigrants and seeing those jobs handed right to their family members is disheartening. Immigrants receive a median pay of $44,600 while the median of the Canadian born population is $38,800. This is Trudeaus Canada where Canadians aren’t even the priority anymore.

Wait till you need Specialist Care and then the “Canadian dream” will turn into a nightmare very fast.\n\nI am surprised the student said the healthcare is great, because he probably never really used it since he’s still young at this time.

I am in Canada for 17 years and I love this country. It literally saved my life. Although I have to admit that it is a matter of surviving nowadays. My husband is a senior piping designer and he can't find a job for more than a year and was on and off the job for last 6 years. I am an internationally trained doctor and I can't find anything for myself. I can't afford pursuing my profession as it's too expensive and takes years with no certainty thag you will even get into industry. So I'm looking for all other jobs. But I'm either overqualified or don't have Canadian experience. So we have money just for a few months to survive... With 2 kids it's even more stressful... We barely can afford our rent... And we can't go back home as we left it so many years ago, no connections for job there too. So we really just pray everyday...

Good! No need for these so called permanent residents obtaining Canadian citizenship just to have a Canadian passport without ever paying taxes!

I'm Canadian. Our government won't help its own citizens. Housing, food and fuel prices are out of control.

My friend from Thailand got married to a Canadian man and they lived in Canada for almost 12 years. However, due to the high inflation and cost of living in Canada, they decided to move back to Thailand. As a result, they sold their house in Canada.

The Canadian government, including its departments and agencies responsible for immigration and citizenship, appears to lack empathy for individuals who immigrate to Canada in pursuit of their dreams and a better life. It is incomprehensible that the immigration department takes more than two to three years to process applications for permanent residency or citizenship. Instead of addressing the delays, they offer excuses such as the impact of Covid-19 or conflicts like the one in Ukraine. Meanwhile, applicants endure significant mental stress and hardship during this prolonged waiting period, unable to secure suitable employment or pursue education. Government officials seem indifferent to these struggles, leaving individuals feeling helpless and frustrated. The situation feels dire, with no avenue for recourse or resolution.

I strongly urge my Canadian born children to seek opportunities in the US once they finish university. Canada is no longer a land of opportunity that it once was.

Canadian here. Millions upon millions came here in a short period of time. We didn’t and still don’t have the infrastructure for that large of a population. Honestly, what did they expect?

this is sad seeing fellow Canadians fleeing this country, supposed to be land of opportunity. Politicians should do better for Canadians first priority, and not this war outside of the country.

Somehow canada has an issue with international students who contribute tremendously to canadian economy. But okay with refugees. \nI have seen refugees in canada have a better living than an average international students.

As a Pastafarian, I am also leaving Canada. There is no longer real opportunity to openly express my beliefs as many Canadians are more inclined to now follow other starches.

Thank God we don't want them here in Canada. Indian try to change western culture to be punjabi and Canadians do not want.

I know of a situation where a canadian woman was living with a man who after he got his pr call the cops on him saying he rape her. He is now in jail because of her lie and can't wait to leave as this seems to be the norm for women there to use the men then get them in jail by lying to the cops. The government needs to start looking into this or canada will become a place no one will want to even visit.

Ah this makes me so sad that actual Canadians are leaving their home country. But actually the same is to be said for me. I'm British living in the UK and we are looking to move to Malaysia. Mostly for the sunshine, the culture, my husband is Chinese and there's a big Chinese community there, I'm half Indian and there's a huge Indian community there also. Actually and of course you already know that Malaysia is a Muslim country so I think Malaysia would be a great fit, plus erm hello the weather ????I can't wait to leave cold, wet, grey UK! All the best with your move ??

I remember back in 2015 when I got my PR under Canadian PhD stream. There was a motivation to bring in and keep well-educated people and post graduates from Canadian Universities. Guess what? This program is cancelled!

I think Canada should stop application from India because a lot of Indians do not contribute to Canadian economies, instead they just want to get the Canadian passport to enable themselves to use the health system of Canada

Sad to read these comments from Canadians. The government issues visa to the Colombian terrorists. And denies tourist visa to Colombians.

I disagree with the cost of living part. Toronto and Ontario are not Canada . Most Canadian cities are affordable .

5:25 this is absolutely true, and I say this as someone born and raised in Canada. It is even worse than you say, and it affects Canadians too. Many organizations have a culture of meek compliance to rules, which may not make sense. Most Canadians try to avoid standing out, and standing out is likely to be seen by your boss and peers as threatening. No one wants to rock the boat.\n\nThese rules and expectations may differ substantially according to the politics and beliefs of the employer. For instance, overtime may be highly encouraged in one place and discouraged in another. But the veneer of handling things in a highly compliant and pleasant way is always there, with a hidden expectation that you will speak positively about the biases of your boss or owner. In other words, the common factor is that bosses often have fragile egos or are afraid of anything that challenges the status quo. This harms critical thinkers and innovators who often leave to the US or China, but also immigrants who have even larger barriers to working within the status quo. \n\nEven among better bosses I have had, I notice this tendency towards intense discomfort with ideas that come from outside of their direct experience. Though at least with my current boss and one other I had in the past, there is an intellectual curiosity and empathy which helps them gradually open up to unfamiliar things (and they're just awesome people in general). But I still notice this bias sometimes. It's definitely cultural.

How many non Indians would immigrate to India for a better life?\n\nIn context, even today, millions of non Canadians will immigrate to Canada for a better life.\n\nI moved to Canada two years ago from India and it was the best decision ever.\n\n@wion Offer proper context when reporting. This news is so biased. When you compare apples to apples, Indian is no better.

The headline is wrong. These people they interviewed are not permanent residents. Therefore they can’t apply for citizenships. They interviewed these Indians who were international students. Who come here misrepresenting themselves in their visa applications. Pretending to be students but come here to work and stay. Canadian government put stricter rules on them to crack down on bogus immigration consultancy and colleges that exploit these students. This news segment is not 100 percent clear. It is true there are pr or naturalized citizens of Canada that leave the country to move back to their home country or move to another country but not all are Indians.
