I went to live in Canada in 1997 and left in 1998. Other than a very mediocre quality of life, I found Canada dark and gray! High cost of living, low wages, high cost of education and all this to live under -14°C! I went to live in France, and Canada is not in the heels! In Paris I lived in a beautiful city, free and high quality health care, got one bachelor and three master degrees without debts, a contract of work protected with strong labor laws, 4 weeks paid holiday a year, travelled all over Europe and had a mild life canadians won't ever have!

“Most productive”. I believe so… I went to school with some people from Indian and they were incredible, very smart and studious. I loved them… but we should NEVER forget to put Canadians first. I know a lot of moms with older kids who are sending their children to study in Europe or in the US, because they can’t get a spot in Canadian universities. They were all born and raised here… :( Canadian are becoming “international students” abroad themselves because they can’t find a space here. Basically Arabs won’t take in Muslim refugees. Europe and USA will. Palestinians cannot live peacefully because they always want to fight with others even when they HAD (past tense) homes jobs and families.

Much of Europe and America & Canada are not desirable anymore. Politicians are allowing 10's of millions of migrants in. We have bad economies, high inflation and a housing shortage and now there's pressure for more housing driving up the cost of living for citizens making them homeless. On top of that they're purposely driving down WAGES with all the migrants making OUR labor less valuable. Politicians are giving ILLEGALS free food, clothes, phones & housing off our backs while we struggle to stay off the streets ourselves.

My biggest worry is that Arab countries don't give citizenship to other national but Europe America's give them citizenship why ?

Im a Canadian citizen and I live in Canada for more than 30 years the problem in this country is the government system is not good this is a kind of communist system and it will get worse if the system in Canada is not changed and the thing about having Canadian experience this is a crap and this is a stupidity. People from Canada which they are born there and they have business there they have to allow people and to receive people with their work experience and they shouldn't discriminate other people this is a their mentality and needs to be changed. I am in Europe right now and I was surprised to see the news a few days ago what's happening in this country if the system in Canada is not changed Canada will be a very poor country that's the truth and that's what's going to be happen ?

Canada is still one of the safest places in the world. I won't leave. This phase will blow over. Nothing is permanent. Things change for the worse before getting better. I would take Canada any day compared to the US or some countries in Europe.

I lived in Western Europe, Japan and at the moment, Canada. I lucked out getting a well paying job in Vancouver when I moved back a few years ago and my average tax rate is actually the exact percentage you stated in the video - 28%, which includes income tax, pension and employment insurance. I'm actually doing better in terms of quality of life now but I do miss being able to travel around Europe for cheap. (e.g., quick train ride to Paris for the weekend) Now, I take cheap flights (e.g. Flair Airlines) to Mexico instead.\n\nJust to state some data points: when I was in Europe, I paid a total average of 39% income tax on a lower salary than I have right now in Canada. Things like utilities (e.g., gas/electricity), restaurants, certain grocery items and electronics (e.g., iphone/PS5/computers) were significantly more expensive because European VAT (inclusive) is usually 20%+. \n\nI don't have the exact numbers but on average I believe I was paying 70 - 90€ ($100 - 130 CAD) just for electricity each month for a small flat, but I am now paying $30 - 50 CAD for a decent sized 1 bedroom. I believe my housing gas bill was about the same or possibly a bit more. In addition, automobile gas prices were much higher (about $2€/L on average which is $2.90 CAD/L) and I think they could go even higher right now. \n\nHowever, rent is definitely more expensive in Vancouver, but I believe that is true for many West coast cities in North America. Right now I'm paying $2300 CAD a month for a 1BR, and I split that amount with my partner. In comparison, it would have been about €1300 ($1900 CAD) for something similar in the city where I was living previously. What all Indians miss is the dirt cheap labour to which the Indian middle class has access in India. Maybe it is true wherever you live: the grass always seems greener somewhere else. Well, probably not greener than in the UK or Ireland where it rains a lot and it isn't possible to imagine grass any greener, but you know what I mean. \nIf you want to live in a place where housing is cheap, go to a country where the population is not mushrooming but shrinking. There are towns in Italy where the authorities are selling empty houses (which might need repair or upgrading if left unoccupied for a long time) for ONE EURO and there are places in rural Portugal where property is cheap. And of course there is Eastern Europe. And in Africa.

This is pretty funny. I'm Canadian and my best friend is an economist working for the government on demographic issues full time. Just has an FYI canada has seen its highest immigration rate in the past 50 years last year. I can also see and feel all the immigrants moving in the job market. I'm not so sure why those videos keep being produced. This country is not perfect but it's better than many other places in the world. For example, canada is barely affected by climate change because we already have resilient infrastructure. When it comes to housing it's not so much that the governement does not allow for more building than the fact that it's hard to build affordable homes because the homes in canada require a lot of work due to the nature of the climate. (Has a trained carpenter and GC I know.) It's also very far from all of the world's chaos. All those emerging wars will affect Europe directly but all we get are some small economic backlashes. Anyhow, I've been living here for my whole 31 years of life and I've enjoyed the place and its peace. What I dislike is the cold and the lack of sun. I hope this message helps people having a fairer POV.
