I know every Canadian province and their capitals. Oh, and the territories as well. My favorite province by the way, like I said before is Alberta.\nEdit: I even memorized O Canada, but only the English version and not French.

Great points I clicked like. Even though I disagree with all of the points as no country is perfect. I can tell you the cons of every single country. The most important thing is to look for the good, the freedom, and safety in a Country.

It is said there are two official languages in this country! Oh yeah nothing to say of aborigens ueiaoyamaiagoo. Well well well and how do they read temselves in their scriptures and cultures of pronos pranas and pronounciations? Oh that's a long long story! Like Berlonga BigMigMickNick? Canada is what you make of it. You can arrive rich and end up poor and you can arrive poor and end up rich. In between that, you can have a great life that balances your needs. I’ve seen immigrants succeed simply because they see the opportunity in front of them . They worked hard in their own counties to stay just above the poverty line ,but when they apply that same effort here it pays off ten times greater. I feel that compared to a lot of immigrants, natural born Canadians come across as spoiled and a little lazy…we are. We haven’t had to struggle the same way someone from a poorer country might have. I’ve talked to people who’ve worked ten to twelve hours a day just to stay afloat. If you did that here you could make plenty of money to live and have some left over. As far as owning a house goes,yes it’s expensive . I feel that homeownership in any country is relatively expensive. Here is a tip; use that soaring home prices to your advantage. Houses are expensive but you can make a lot of money buying and selling. I recommend putting together a buyers group and share the house for a few years, then sell at a profit, buy a bigger house or two smaller houses.try to buy the worst house in the best neighbourhood and fix it up slowly . That house could double in value in five or six years in the Toronto market. This is nothing new of course ,the people from India and China seem to do this a lot here ,it drives up prices and profits. On the downside to this ,you are now part of the problem. As the housing prices are driven up the non wealthy can no longer afford to own a house . They are at the mercy of high rents with no rewards of ownership. They are caught in a cycle of hard work and (relative)poverty. This could also be you if you can’t keep up the house payments and are forced to rent.\nHow well you speak English is important but your native language is also useful here because Canada is half immigrants . As a Canadian that speaks only english (Irish descent)I have to say to all newcomers that I’m very impressed that you have learned a new language and that you may even speak more than two! Don’t be embarrassed about your abilities . I find that in my experience , Canadians do not look down on people just because they don’t know English. In fact ,I’ve known people that have lived here for decades and still know very little English. They are comfortable in their communities and they function just fine. Learn as much English as suits your needs and be proud of any gains you make.\nOutside of Toronto are other cities that you might consider when looking at southern Ontario.From my experience,most are generally the same, just not as big . There are large immigrant communities in London Ontario, Hamilton and just outside of Toronto where housing is just a little bit less expensive but the commute to work is probably longer. This is just my opinion but in the small towns there are less people of colour , (which is what people of no colour call everyone else . I wonder if I’m called a person of no colour in some other culture ? LoL ). That might make it harder for you to feel integrated ,if that’s what you want. I’m not saying that people from other cultures can’t make it in a small town , I’m just saying that it’s definitely not Toronto . Here, people of any nationality can feel like they have a place where they can belong . It seems that no matter where you are from ,there is a community already here that’s set up restaurants and stores and clothing shops and newcomer support systems. And if your from Portugal or China or India or Africa or the Middle East, there are large groups of your kin here that have established roots for generations and you probably know this already.\nToronto means meeting place and that becomes evident quickly. I was born here and it’s one of the things I love the most about my city. I’m not going to say that there isn’t systemic racism here ,the people of no colour still kind of keep the top position , but as we become a minority in a decade or so ,I hope that will shift to a broader spectrum. It’s certainly happening already. One good thing is that the police department tries to hire people of colour so that racialism may play a smaller role. We’re getting used to seeing our politicians more and more reflect their constituents.\nI have to talk about the weather. Because I’m from here I’m used to the extremes of minus thirty and plus thirty . Eventually you get used to it (somewhat). Dressing in the right clothes is important. Summer is easy , but winter is different. It’s trying to kill you. Spend the most that you can afford on winter cloths . If you can afford a quality parka you should get one. The hood can be drawn around the face and stay out of the wind.\nIf not ,think of layers with a outer layer that blocks the wind. We have things called long Johns that are basically full length thick cotton or nylon pants that go on under your pants and a pair of extra thick socks. Buy your boots to fit your thick socks. Try to get the best boots you can afford ,it’s something that you might spend a little extra for but never regret.\nAll in all we are a fairly organized and peaceful society. Most people are friendly and will give you a chance . We have a good social safety net here and you don’t have to be homeless or starving if you don’t want to. There are people and organizations set up to help ,that truly try to get people back on their feet. It’s a good investment that pays off in ways that matter for the quality of life in a big city. I’m not putting my American neighbours down when I say they do things differently. They have their ways ,we have ours. This is just something that we do because we’re trying to learn how to help those that society has discarded or can’t find their place. Sure we have one or two areas where the homeless have pitched tents and we have some resources for them if they want. Unfortunately The mayor recently forced a small camp to move from a very visible place to more scattered locations. There were social workers involved as well as protesters trying to protect them. I didn’t like that happening and I want to see even more resources dedicated to them ,but on the other hand ,we are trying to avoid something like what happens on the streets when it’s just ignored. When I see YouTube videos of the streets of Philadelphia I’m extremely saddened. I thank the lucky stars that I was born in Toronto Canada.\nFor all it’s pollution and expense and crowds ,I think it’s a great place to do almost anything your heart desires . For every ugly building there is a beautiful park ,for every honked horn there is a birds call , for every cold and dark day there is beautiful sunny one around the corner.

So here is the thing about what you have said about retraining and going back to school over here in Canada..\nMy wife has spent ten years going to universities in BC becoming a counselor but now we have moved to BN they want her to spend another 4 years proving to someone in NB that she can do the job she has been doing for 15 years , oh and she is a Canadian!\nI have 20 years experience as a plumber even before I moved to Canada, I prove this to the canadain goverment I can do my job get my visa. Then you have to do this all over again because the unions are really in charge over here, they dont want people like me moving here from the UK taking their jobs as they put it...\nWhy say to someone that, hey you can come over as you are exactly what we need! then tell them they have to go back to Collage and sit more exams and do schooling all over again.. I came over as a Plumber been here ten years and have worked as a plumber in Canada for 3 years tops as it was getting harder to get work, what is the point in this? \nAnd don't even think about leaving one province for another and expecting to be able to just do your job, that is not going to happen.. If I had known what I know now about Canada before I came here I would still be in the UK

I will be leaving Canada within a year or so after declaring non-residency and bring my business with me. My view is that Canada is a good place to live a normal life. Healthcare covers your peace of mind, even if the waitlist is long and bureaucratic. Social benefit is not as generous as people suggest sometimes (at least in Canada unless you're on actual welfare where you can't work but you can't rise your way up easily and you're forever stuck in 1.5k CAD/month... which would be ofc much better than other struggling countries but immigrants often aspire for greater things than that. \n\nEven though I was an Asian immigrant, I never faced significant racism afaik (I could be socially naive however), but there are definitely limitations of opportunities. It's not too difficult to find entry to intermediate jobs, at least for me but that's probably because I did schooling here in Canada. And I was able to network aggressively and learned to be an extrovert, so that also helped. But still, Canadian living cost is high (and I'm saying this from Calgary... imagine what it's like in Vancouver/Toronto). Is it doable? Ofc. 50-70k CAD/year is quite doable ESPECIALLY in Calgary, Alberta. But it'd be difficult to achieve financial independence and true wealth. This is true everywhere ofc but more so in Canada compared to, say, USA where living cost is lower and wage is higher with more opportunities. It's a great place to live normally. If you wanna become exceptional (wealth, customized goods and services, etc), it become harder and costs more. \n\nEven now when I now own business after struggling to get here over 10 years that generates income that I need to achieve financial freedom, tax becomes frightfully bad. Alberta (that imposes lowest tax rate compared to other Canadian provinces (not including territories for obvious reason) is comparable to California in USA that is among the highest in all US states. And let's be real; Alberta is nowhere close of being California. Imagine the taxes in BC/Ontario shiver. \n\nOnce my tax rate becomes high enough to justify moving, I will pull the trigger. Still window-shopping where I wanna go and I have some lists but it's gonna happen especially as Canada will have to deal with their struggling economy, further distancing from US and their government mismanagement that continues to cost the society. I will not have any part in it. I may come back once in a while for visit or potentially retire depending on what the future looks like but right now, I just don't see my longterm future here.

I’m a Canadian Citizen through my parent since age 5 years old and has lived in Canada almost of my life getting tired of how the system worked, deep down it’s like socialism system through the world it’s a greater country to visit but to live and raise your family it’s really a struggle almost in any aspects of area . Even though I’m working as a nursing field I realized Canada it’s really tough on work employment really discrimination etc….I’m here in USA so much freedom and life seems much decent living as long you know how to narrow it and live a peaceful life . Tremendously happy indeed to another country as ?????❤️

Great video, I'm glad you are willing to take off the rosy glasses to talk about Canadian reality. I'm a Canadian born myself and everything that was mentioned in the video is accurate in term of the struggles immigrants face. Canada is a very quiet, safe country and crime rate as well as violence in general is low. But Canada can still be as harsh as its climate so don't be fools, Canada is not Disneyland and it's not for everybody. Cities like Vancouver and Toronto are the most expensive cities in North America (Canada + USA) even more expensive than Los Angeles and Montreal is as expensive as New York. Therefore think twice, prepare yourself and do your research before applying. Using John F. Kennedy's famous quote I might add to conclude: \nDon't ask what CANADA can do for you but what YOU can do for Canada.

Thanks for making this video. After nearly 13 years as of Jan 1st 2022, I'll be leaving Canada on a one-way ticket; not to my country of origin, but further into new ventures.\n\nIt's been a slog to become a citizen and try and make life work here. It's a good place to be successful financially if you make sound choices, and then to live a fairly quiet, isolated life. If all you want is to live within your own ethnic community and have a better quality of life, it's a good place.\n\nUnfortunately, it's never had enough culture or meaning for me. Life feels pretty empty no matter how much money you make. The national identity being based around home-ownership feels extremely depressing to me.\n\nAnd you're both on point about the reserved, passive-aggressive nature of Canadians. I've become like that too now. It's pretty obvious that it costs us dearly; people are unable to be genuinely warm, to take risks and form real friendships. Everything feels surface-level because no one risks taking the steps that might even be a bit of intrusion into each other's lives that is the signal of the start of a close friendship. I'm sick of the surface relationships I've had here.\n\nAnd the wholesale import of U.S. narratives with complete ignorance of our own realities. Most Canadians think they live in the U.S. and seem unable to name a single important issue in their own province or country. I’m Canadian born but mums family is from Europe. \n\nIt’s seems like not a lot has changed since the 1960’s my grandfather had trouble finding a job for a while due to not having Canadian experience. \n\nIt took my friends 7years to become citizens here. As a born Canadian. They had to go back to school. Unless you are in the medical profession I don’t see why you have to go back to school. \n\nMost of our health care does come from taxes yes I can’t tell you how great it is that I don’t have to pay $80,000 per surgery. I have 17 over my life. In other places in the world that would make me homeless. \nBut the dental care has cost me a lot because of my condition. But even for me that is a fair trade off. (I rather drugs, dental would be covered) \n\nTaxes also include subsided things for the public, libraries, roads that fixed, reduced fares for public transportation, reduced health cost for low income families that’s not covered by the government. etc. Not all great but the health care coverage is great to not have to pay in full. I only pay $6000 in taxes at most a year. I have a low income. The more you make the more they will tax you because it helps get the services for everyone. That’s why you are taxed more if you make more.

I know Canada is not perfect and I find you’re a bit hard on the red maple leaf... just because you don’t find the same things as your native country. It’s like\nfrench people coming from France, going to Quebec province an complaining about the food, the weather etc... well we’re not France, sorry to say! But I can\ntry to understand your situation; it’s probably inevitable that the comparison between your country and Canada would show up eventually. I see regularly \nimmigrants moving here and it’s true that it’s not easy. (Some people will have to be cab drivers because they can’t find work in their field). But you have\nopportunities if you work hard. I have the example of a Russian truck driver who move here with his family (wife, two kids). The man started by working for\na general transport company, then was able to buy his own truck. Now he’s able to work with whoever he wants. So I think every experience is different.\nOne other thing I noticed is that for families coming here it will always be easier for kids (even teens) to adapt quicker then their parents. I live in the east\n(the maritimes) and there is not very large cities. Some immigrants that come here will stay for a while but then they would move to a larger city (like\nToronto) because that city must have the most ethnic diversity in Canada. For cultural differences true that Canadians are like Americans in the «none»\nfashion trending. It’s a different mentality then Europe because over there fashion is a statement; you are judge on your appearance. Here, not as much.\nIt shows you don’t like winter and if you don’t your not a real Canadian! :-) Don’t generalize, a lot of people here like winter. And for taxes I don’t have a clear\nexplanation other then we have a huge empty country that needs roads, infrastructures, etc. and someone has to pay for it! (fun fact, all the population\nof Canada could fit in a country like Poland... it shows how empty it is here). Finally, and I heard this many times, maybe the people or the part of the\ngovernment to blame is Immigration Canada. Maybe they give to much of an idealistic image of Canada! Nice summary of the main challenges. Reading some of these comments leads me to believe that if one is motivated solely by money, Canada is not a great choice for you as an immigrant. The number of commenters hoping to move to the US from Canada due to greater opportunities to make money while ignoring the real and substantial disadvantages of living south of the borders just emphasizes this. My family are immigrants from the US and we didn’t face the same challenges as immigrants from countries further afield but I do understand the differences between the two countries very well and can state unequivocally that moving to Canada was the best decision our family made. Lower crime, better health care (yes even with the wait times), a fairer system and a “boring” but sane political system more than compensate for the few extra dollars I would make south of the border. In terms of where better prospects going forward for children and grandchildren, with the looming threat of climate change, Canada wins hands down. Extra income means little if you have to spend all of it on personal security and health care deductibles. So if you are only motivated by top line items like gross annual salary, Canada might not be for you and you would be better off looking elsewhere and leaving that immigration spot open to someone who can appreciate the more balanced offering that a new life and future in Canada can offer.

I moved to Canada ?? in 2016 , in Winnipeg Manitoba which has freezing ? temperature in winter . Canada is massive even I face problems but I was flexible and I changed my career I was working and studying and I paid less fees same like Canadian citizen coz I came permanent resident . Some fields have more income and taxes but you will get benefits depending . Every country has problems and challenges but I love Canada ??. I did my home work in my home country. I have more Canadian friends then from my country. Love ❤️ you Canada ??.

Even though i am from the States, i most certainly DO NOT like the idea of the 'head of state' (ceremonial figurehead) and the 'head of government' (political steward) being 'one and the same.' For the record, i have always favored the parliamentary system.

Having 3 degrees including a MSc. I can confirm that it's hard to get even an acknowledgement from the employer. Lack of Canadian experience or education comes in way and almost feels like discrimination . So many people have to ditch their dreams for a survival job. It's a trade off not everyone is comfortable doing. It's a shame so much human capital is lost but it also provides cheap stable labour so I'm sure they won't complain.

Great video! I would like to share my personal experience so far: I came to Toronto in 2020 for a 2-year college program, met great friends that became family (flew back to my home country during the pandemic, graduated, and came back 3 months ago) and applied for my PGWP. However, I am planning on moving back home next year. Canada is a vast country, with friendly people in its majority, a rigorous taxation system, but what makes me mad is that some Youtubers portray that PR is the ultimate goal (which is not always granted) and even promote this toxic attitude that if you don't aspire to PR then you are wasting your time. Immigration is not for everyone, sometimes I think to myself if I should've invested that college money ($8k per semester) to buy a piece of land that over time will be more profitable. It leaves me with a bittersweet taste, but I will be forever thankful to Canada for the friendships that I made here and the experiences that I had.

Like in my case have been looking for a job in Canada for so many years am electrician but I can work even as a labourer help me find right companies I will appreciate

Homogeneous societies are the way, let's face it, yes we are all humans who bleed red. However we come from different parts of the world which have different views, creeds and cultures, values morals, the problem with the west is we let every one in because we are tolerant, tolerant to people who are not tolerant of our ways. It's better in england, Canada Australia new Zealand europe that's why they flock here from their fucked up ways, yet they cant even intellectually interact in our ways of life, go home if you dont like it

Every country needs a leader like Trump or macron or maybe modi coz Islam is the real threat to the world peace. People should stop giving them relief even if they start doing protest as much as they want. Reality of Canada - Very bad weather - freezing with gusty winds with \nsnow or ice ,get ready to shovel alot of snow in winter, winter type \nweather is for 8 months, very high price of house plus other high \nexpenses which are unaffordable like on an average house price is \nmillion dollars plus other expenses makes you 12,000$ per month which \nyou will not get easily as salary, high rents also almost 1700$ for one \nbhk ,whereas on an average you can make 2000 $ /month , high car \ninsurance plus high phone plus interntet plus grocery , no taste of \nindian vegetable & indian food ,its a big problem if you are a \nvegetarian, no specific job industry & 97% warehouse jobs which pay \nlittle also 99% sardars drive truck but truck is a very hard job esp in\n winter ,very hard to get good paying jobs & other jobs fon't pay \nthat much only illiterate people can do , no social life ,even no \npersonal life as women become very weird after coming to canada & \nlots of divorces happens in indian people after coming to canada, people\n of canada are very dead & shows no emotions like indians are . when\n kids grow up they have no feelings fo rtheir parents in canada as they \ndon't know what is indian culture , super worst medical system with 20 \nhours waiting in emergency plus doctors will never give you any medicine\n due to legal fear also you will never get timely treatment or even a \nmedicine like india, also specialist doctor appointments will take 6 \nmonths in canada while you can see specialist doctor daily if you want \nin india , dental & eye is private but very costly only if you have \nwork insurance, no servants or maids like india so you have to all jobs \nlike cleaning house, cooking, laundry ,dishwashing by yourself even if \nyou are coming from 8 hour job which is very tiring , canada is only \nheaven for punjabis for others they have to be very careful

It all depends what condition you are living in Pakistan. I like this Ashir but he has strong grudges against pakistan and has strong biased opinion. I came to canada in 2009 with family. I can tell you that those days were a little different less racism and pretty much no islamophobia now there is even if you admit it or not. If your daughter or wife does cover her head they can be in trouble out alone. Economy in atleast alberta and other provinces too is on decline. If you want to make good money medical fields are good like pharmacy nursing related rest is bad. My wife was a doctor in Pakistan cleared all her papers but didnt get any residency as of yet.

It's so funny for international media, Canada - Toronto .. there is so much more to Canada then just Toronto ! .. Ohh yeah you will say Montreal but still Toronto and Montreal is only 10% Canada ... If you want to see real beautiful Canada go west to places like Vancouver, Banff Calgary,. Whistler .. beautiful serene mountains and wilderness or even far east to the Maritimes .. Toronto is nothing but a flat concrete jungle !!!!

I do not mean to be negative here but anyone of you who is well settled outside Canada, don't come to Canada!, unless you want to do labor work. I know people who have done Masters in Software engineering are working in a Pizza shops. If there is one job opening there are 10 thousand applicants for the same job. Companies showing fake jobs to satisfy govt. pressures. Automated refusals replies of your job applications are common.\n People get hired on sources and within companies. Racism exists, results are killings every now and then. Go and watch news channels like CP24. Thieves are here. Things do get stolen. Recently mass graves are found near schools in multiple areas of small children of indigenous people who were tortured and killed by white supremacy in the past. Recently a whole family is killed by a maniac. No capital punishments so killers, rapists walks free after 10-15 years tops.\n\nAshir sahib is being a little dramatic. I guess the agony of Pakistani bureaucracy has influenced him so negatively that in his mind he is comparing Pakistani life with Canadian life. He himself was driving truck initially. may be now a days retired or staying home or may have sufficient funds. But don't get too excited with his kind words. He is only showing the good side of Canada in some sort of excitement. \nThe bitter truth is that unemployment rate is too high here. Govt hides the truth. They couldn't even handle the pandemic properly. Alcohol is cheap marihuana (Hashish, Charas) is legal now. Every 3rd person is smoking weed. Drunk drivers kills innocents on roads often. Every region have different rules and regulations and policies. I moved to Niagara region and they charged me $200 deposit for water $200 deposit for hydro plus monthly bills separate. $1800 to $2000 is the rent of one bed apartment. Burlington where he lives has $2800 to $3000 rent monthly for a house. Go check online! Price of buying a home is in millions of dollars. Go check real estate.

It is not easy in the beginning particularly for professionals like doctors and engineers but the positives are far better than Pakistan. The most important thing is happiness and peacefulness which is lacking in Pakistan even for the rich.

I m from Lahore. Running my own business last year i made around 6 million pkr profit. And I started my business 3 years back. With lot of hard work and consistency i am able to make it and is hoping to increase it further. But after watching your videos i discussed my intention to try for Canadian Immigration with my wife.\nIs it worth trying for it?\nThe only reason is even after making good money you are ensalved to system. We work with different gov offices like fbr, customs and PRA. There attitude is pathetic that is why we have to work middle men and pay him commission. Moreover i m not able to adjust in this environment. The school system is pathetic. I don't like private schools and how they are looting middle class parents. Same is with Doctors. One of my friend who have well established textile business got their mother admitted to one very famous hospital in DHa lahore. Doctors almost killed her mother just to make more money. For very minor issue they paid around 2 million rs to different Private Doctors. And 3 to 4 operations without even doing ct scan. I luv my kids and would never like them to grow in this environment...

Even some one sent me free I never want go both ? countries never mind how rich they are because too far and I don't like big ?️ I love village life.

You’ve been in an English speaking country for awhile. So why do you need to communicate via Spanish? You should’ve learned the language by now. That’s the biggest thing, if you want to be a American or Canadian then learn the language. \n\nI’m Latin and my father n uncles hated going places in the US and another Latin would speak Spanish to them. Even though they could speak Spanish they said this is America speak English. \n\nNot all minorities like seeing people coming into the country illegally or by trying to use asylum when they have no claim. If it’s hard in your country don’t have kids, try to immigrate legally to a country!

I know it won’t be easy but, Toronto has a lot of resources for immigrants and even undocumented immigrants. I worked for a shelter and although it was the only one that takes undocumented families, you learn there are resources out there. \nIt’s about aligning yourself with the right community support Center, finding the people who will fight for you. There are so many people here who welcome and want to help all types of immigrants. No matter your background.\nThe people who work helping these communities they are ruthless in their fight for citizenship, or at least finding you a job and home, they will guide you through the system. Social workers, ones in community resource centres, not government centres, will be your best friend. They know where the red tape is and the resources available to you. \nYou could even go to a specific shelter to t all out your options and where you could go to get help.\nI understand this is not ideal. \nBut, if you want to be here, your best friends are non-profits, finding a center that aligns with your story, your background, because they will fight for you. We have people here from every country and resource centres geared towards your own language, religion etc.\nAnother big way to set yourself up for success. Churches, rich churches to be specific. \nMy mom works in a very rich church and it helps them feel better about themselves helping people, you could be nice enough to alleviate their guilt through their wallets, and connections. Under the table work, shelter, space for your family, set you up, they might even have the lawyers you need pro Bono in those rich churches. Church shopping, do not be above it if you don’t have resources. You don’t just get help, you build a community and support system through a common bond, the church. \nI know these aren’t revolutionary tips, but without specifics of your background it’s hard (for me specifically) to give specific advice online as to what services could be provided for you.\nIt’s kind of like a doctors appointment. You need background info to diagnose the resources for you and how to access that help.

The tests with the three friends, I'm not saying the racism it exposed doesn't exist, but I'm curious if attractiveness or character plays a factor in this as well (or even more). Getting different rental prices is outrages. Being stalked in a store is just weird, but a couple of checks I wouldn't mind. If nothing ever happens that will stop. Being asked if you can be helped should not be an issue. Although I admit it can be annoying (I rather shop without interference), but as long as they ask politely, being offended by it is your own problem. As for the hiring part is this video, I believe there might be even more discrimination based on age. I like the idea of blind hiring when possible. Being rated on skills is in the best interest of any party. \n\nAs a society we're making good progress on a lot of levels. There is still ground to gain, but let's also celebrate what has already been achieved in the last couple of generations. Social media makes it look like it's only bad, but don't forget that bad news sells better than good news. And all companies (also news companies) want to make money.

Gotta say, I get looked at like I’m shoplifting sometimes, even though I come into stores with a very small 6 inch purse or with no handbag at all, a jacket instead of coat, I greet the staff, and I’m caucasian. I think being treated like I’m a shoplifter even though showing no signs of being one (no place to hide clothes or merch) comes down to the incompetence of the staff. The staff might even have special needs but they don’t look like it. That’s pretty common too. That happened to me a couple months ago when I was shopping at ulta.
