Canada is no longer a top option for people for many reasons but the main reason for a massive decline in this country is how things degraded since Justin Trudeau and the Liberals took office. i have never seen our country this bad my entire life. its almost unrecognizable. a leader who blocks foreign interference investigations in our elections has something to hide. this government is corrupt not only Canadians see it, but the world sees it.

My family has been here for generations I cant leave . I can only wait out the pompous prince and hope people vote for something other than nice hair.

Well it’s something good that you have shared , yes you can’t have the privilege of keeping a maid / can’t have the cake and eat it too , India has its own pros and cons and so dose Canada . I have lived and worked in UK never had any issues , as had to come back home due to family reasons but it all depends on an individual plus if you are ready to accept challenges even I am planning to migrate to canada in my early 30s with a kid let’s c how it goes , but I have kept my window to return back in case if I didn’t like it . Everybody wants to go to the USA they must be doing something right

Property taxes, utilities price (especially ELECTRICITY) are murderous. I would agree with the food price going up 4 times higher than 3 years ago, if it was of a decent quality. You would not find a normal natural potato, beets, corn. All if these are genetically modified. Meat and dairy are coming from the animals that are not fed with grass, but with something else, and treated with antibiotics. There is no healthy and natural food for the general population. You can't even give candies to kids anymore - palm oil!

Hmmm not surprising Trudeau took over at the end of 2015 and Canada's Immigration Retention index placing dropped from 9th in 2016 to 15th in 2021! But of course it's the best talented ones that have something to offer that will leave and we're being overrun with less skilled ones from 3rd world countries that Trudeau lets in by the hundreds of thousands helping him turn this country into a disaster. We need to get back to less immigration and more selective with high skilled immigrants more compatible with our society like Europe, US, Commonwealth countries.

Thank you Canada for what you gave me through my own efforts. To go to university with my own money, to buy a house around the same time, to be able to have my son in a prestigious school, for all this I thank you. But this doesn't mean that I don't see big issues around me. I do see them and also, I see nothing to solve something. So, four more years Canada. That's it. I have enough.

The problem with Canada is that they don’t accept foreign credentials. You often have to start from 0 before you can get back into your profession. There are many many hurdles and often individuals will just decide to do something completely different from what they studied. \n\nAlso, Canada is super expensive at this point. Real estate prices are absolutely crazy.

A lot of it would have been true in the 70s and 80s but these are Canadian stereotypes that people are desperately holding onto. More and more things are being delisted from our healthcare coverage, meaning that I often hear of people getting charged out of pocket. I was surprised 3 years ago when my doctor ordered a cancer screening after I was suffering a digestive issue. I was not prepared to pay out of pocket for something as essential as cancer screenings. This sort of thing always used to be covered. It was always covered by our much higher cost of living and our higher taxes. If my taxes keep going up, I expect services to get better, not to decline like they have been. Our seniors are afraid to go to the doctor these days. Suicide is being offered to them instead of proper care and treatment. After they had spent decades working and paying into the system they are being shut out.

America presents harrowing & too limited pathways to obtain just work permits/residency, except you won a green card lottery or something; don't even talk about the asylum program. Immigrants with countless stories of been exploited bcos they had no other alternatives than to get married. Thus lots of people moved to Canada with more friendly immigration assimilation policies. America may have the bigger economy but nothing beats canada in getting your papers without been stuck in a situationship(immigration loop, marraige web etc) & as we know your papers unlocks the full potentials & provisions of that land.

I come from a very civilized country with a lot of education and history but awful economy. ?? I am myself educated but my country’s main salary is 700€/month and a descent one bedroom apt is the same price. There are no jobs no future if u don’t come from a rich fam. There is something to take note of for the salaries: Canada has almost free health care, but the USA really doesn't. Maybe it affects the salaries? I mean yes you may get a lot more money, but if you have health issues, canada is maybe more equal? I don't know

Language barrier is the major issue. \n\nI think Europe can work well for people who don’t want to strain too much heheh ?. You can still have something on the table with a lowest income. We have managed to pay a mortgage with our regular 8-5pm job. The immigration services in ?? are faster than Germany.\n\nThe social system is working for me.

The world has changed. It's wild what we are seeing right now. Like the affordability crisis is like something I've never seen. We moved to NYC two decades ago and the rent for our first apartment never went over $1k a month. My mom was making minimum wage the entire 13 years we lived there and while we were very much meeting the requirements for public assistance, her job could at least cover the majority of the necessities. The immigrants coming in today would be lucky to find a room for the rent we paid.

I live in Melbourne Australia. A guy once commented something regarding my dressing while I was wearing a yellow hoodie. And it was a very rich neighbourhood. I thought that was weird. Firstly it’s not easy but at the end of it is would have been worthwhile it especially for your kids. Besides 2 months is too early to judge and make such a big decision. Lastly no one calls people to their country it your choice… you should be grateful you had family it was way easier for you. Fixing things is something you do anywhere in the world. Basement stay was a choice you should rent a house if you could afford it. Education system has changed world wide. I’ve lived near Toronto for the vast majority of my adult life. Around 2016 I was working there and started to explore the city a little bit more, living there for a short time. I think the draw and attraction was that it always was a little hectic. Always something to look at, so many different cultures. Also such contrasts, walking through the downtown core and then out to a neighborhood like Greek town. With parks and even forests to be found. It went from tense to a feeling of refuge and a sense of a natural oasis within a chaotic machine. I think the sense of calm which could be found has become a little more rare. Also a certain openness that people and cultures had towards each other has been fading. Discourse with other opinions morphed into the near impossible. It’s all by design and sad to see. It’s a tangible and significant change. When you zoom out at the infrastructure, social and economic level. It’s very hard to see a healthy recovery happening anytime soon. Mostly due to those being in charge not caring. Still lots of beauty there. I would never choose to live there again, but if anyone is still living there and reading this. My advice would be to explore the greenways, parks and forests to be found. The juxtaposition of city and nature gives a heightened appreciation to both realities, and really gives a more balanced/peaceful mindset to explore the good which can be found

Well I had a kid this year in Québec, it was like 250$ for a single room or 20$ for double room or something. \nYeah some hospital would sell our informations to banks and diapers or food manufacturers... still cheaper than 3000$USD\nFor student I'd say if you are citizen of canada, it's like 10 time cheaper to study here than in US as far as I've seen.\nViolence is something really sad. I'd really wish that just guns were restrain for hunting and special forces, like police officer or body gard of gouvernment selected individual accredited to hold a weapon for defence.\nI've heard that in USA police don't all have to go through police academy that teach them how be an officer. Here they have to go to school, be cadets in summer break, have your attitude checked to de-escalat violent situation if possible.\nWhen I was a in high school violence was in drop in school, so much that they withdraw the officer that was station to that school to just do some one time per year presentation of what to do for security, to absolutely nothing.

The problem is demand and demand is hugely increased by investors. Investors don't live in the place and in many cases they don't even rent the place. At lease half of those seeking to buy houses are investors. Therefore investors double the demand.\n\nHouses are limited supply whereas investors are numerous and have access to unlimited money either cash or loan from banks. We have created a housing market. It means we made it something like share market where everyone can put their money in it and buy as many as they want. During the pandemic demand for toilet paper became very high and there were limited supply. Supermarkets limited one or 2 packs per customer because it would be unfair for some to stack most of the papers and others have none. Some customers wanted to buy tons and fill their homes with toilet paper and they did. House and land is limited too. Why can't we do the same for homes? Demand is important and always going to be there from those who want to move there and live in it. Investors buy many homes and bid higher in value than normal people because they have more money and they know the price will rise. They raise the demand sky high. Specially if they're foreign investors. They can buy hundreds of apartments or houses and leave it empty.\n\nAs I mentioned, we do need certain amount of demand for housing and that demand is going to be always there by people who want to buy and live in it whether they're local or immigrants. However, when many investors come in and they have greed, the demand becomes sky high and the price will become so high that only investors can afford them. Rent also depends on the value of the property. The higher the price, the higher the rent. So the issue is investors. Too many of them with too much greed.

I felt this video was just a rant about how she could not adjust herself in canada because she had always lead a struggle free and spoon fed life in india. Dude I leave in canada too and all the hardships you described were the least I including many of the people who described their experience leaving here are concerned for but we are fighting against those and struggling and thus now are able to live a stable life. Because we know what it is meant by struggling you had options in india but many belong to the lower middle class life and we don't even get the chance that you just enjoyed and rant about. and yes adjusting in a new country is a hassle but that is something you already have to keep in mind before going there.

I’d say the militarization of police forces is something both countries have in common, as well as totalitarian leanings. The judiciary in both countries seems to have been corrupted, with laws created favoring corporations. Both countries are heavily propagandized. In terms of foreign policy, there is no difference. Canada is essentially Americas puppet.\nWhen it comes to standards of living, more than ever it depends what city/region, etc. \nApart from healthcare, there isn’t much difference. Both countries have been importing large numbers of foreigners. This has only added to the existing segregation of classes, ethnicities, and cultures. Over time both countries have become more internally divided.\nFrankly speaking, I don’t have much hope for either country. The wait time in your hospitals are quicker because no one can afford to go and only go when in dire need,we go to the doctor or hospital when we are concerned about something. So Not really comparable.

Ok, so I live near a border crossing so I’ve been over to shop on many occasions. (Never lived there though.) Here’s an example of a time I was over there, waiting in line at customer service at a store. There was a man in front of me. I patiently waited for him to finish and then went to step forward in his place. A woman behind me basically pushed me out of the way, literally cut me, and then started interacting with the employee like it was an everyday normal thing to do! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Manners are something you learn as a child. I had no idea how I’m inconsiderate and rude some people could be. (I have many other examples but of course when I see something like that, I really notice it.)\nNever mind the lack of respect for human life when you’re trying to drive on a Freeway with some. That’s actually terrifying.

Public education is a huge factor in choosing Canada over America for raising a kid. When I was in Jr high 20+ years ago, a kid I knew did grade 8 in rural northern BC. Grade 9 he moved to northern Minnesota. Same set up, rural lifestyle. When he came back for grade 10, he had to retake 2 grade 8 classes (English and something else, I forget) and all of grade 9, even though he passed everything in MN. That has always tainted my opinion of raising kids in the states. And it's only gotten worse since then.\nAlthough, like everything else, if you can afford the fancy private schools...

14:29 I have never had to pay out of pocket for any medical visit in canada ever and i have lived in Toronto, Montreal and St. John's, you do have to pay for things like an ambulance or crutches but not the medical care itself, he must have been visiting about something that was cosmetic or non essential treatment.

6:13 Hospitals set their own prices, something that costs one price at one hospital could cost double at a hospital just down the road, it is hugely unregulated.
