Lack of affordable housing -- lack of housing in general -- is the main reason people already living here are being priced out and why so many refugees and immigrants cannot afford the cost when they move here. When these people come to Canada for a better life and/or to escape the suffering that they were living in, they cannot bring their homes with them. It is the government's responsibility at all levels to ensure that these newcomers have a place to go when they come here. A homeless shelter should not be the answer. Buy up office spaces and convert them (if safe to do so with whatever codes need to be met) into affordable housing units. For years we've been seeing hundreds of news articles about vacancies in office buildings being at all time highs, yet only a handful of them are being converted. 500,000 people a year entering a country where there isn't enough housing for them (let alone the people living here already) is irresponsible on the government's part. If this is your pledge, at least give these people a better life and not send them to shelters or onto the streets as soon as they arrive. If Canada is to truly be a safe haven for immigrants and refugees escaping their hardships, it's paramount that the government does what it can to make these people actually feel like their life will change for the better. I'm all for immigration since it helps the economy and knowing that Canada can put people in a better position for themselves and their families, but it's the lack of preparation from the governments that makes me question their pledge in this way.

Listen... I'm all for helping out fellow human beings but it seems this person was blocking her way which you can see, and she explains that this isn't the first time he's done that! The fact he spoke to her in Indian just shows he is not culturally appropriated to our language or even laws for that matter! When you talk about Healthcare your analysis is solely based on Personal income tax. This is utterly disingenuous, because all working individuals pay taxes in Canada and that money goes into paying for not just health care but many constructs that govt. of a modern society must pay to ensure Canada remains competitive. Please anyone watching this do not take it as fact. Pretty much got all of it wrong. Fishing and Hunting in Nova Scotia and cold? Can live in Vancouver for $50,000/year?? Alberta is way more than Agriculture, oil and gas. Also quite a few more cities than just Calgary. Toronto is getting worse every year. People are leaving the city because it is so expensive to live there. Quebec is getting up there with cost of living along with the taxes. Vancouver Island, yes mild in the winter compared to the rest of Canada but jobs are hard to come by which is why a lot of people retire there.

No way Canada beats US in health care. You have to wait for 8 months for everything in Canada. It's at most a tie :). Also, the key advantage for US is not being talked about here: pay. For doing the same job, you take home 40% less in Canada vs. US.

I’d add complacency as another point. I guess that falls under the rules point. Canada always seems to not strive to be anything, as long as we have enough, everyone doesn’t seem to care. Low productivity, extremely regulated business laws, high taxes for relatively poor services and extremely misaligned immigration numbers are seriously hampering progress and economic growth for the individual. The government loves to brag that the economy is growing, but per capita income hasn’t moved or is shrinking. I think your video is well done. I used to love visiting the US especially the west and have fond memories of our travels .Now we don't travel to the US because of the gun violence and so many guns. Most Canadians don't want guns and think gun control should be very strict. I am very content with the way things are in Canada. We have high taxes but we have so many benefits, like maternity leave of 12 months or more. We have free healthcare with no premiums to pay. We have at least 2 government pensions , one we help contribute to and one is totally government funded plus a guarantee supplement if needed . Most people also have a company or union \npension . Most people retire between 60 to 65 years , but its certainly not compulsory. Canada is hoping to have a 4 day work week soon. Our federal government is generous helping with supplements for food etc. We welcome newcomers and we have a very diverse population. I have traveled to different parts of the world and I am very content here.

It is because Trudeau's policy, there are express process for those who entered Canada this way to get PR. From the date they made refugee claim, they receive welfare, their children get education as Canadian citizen. Those who pay application fee to immigrate Canada have to wait years, and after they arrive they have to wait 3 months to get health care. But this people can get health in 3 days. How many of them are real refugees. Trudeau use our Canadian tax payers money to get his future voters.

Lived in us for 10 years and also Canada for 7. I can 100% say that life in Canada is a whole lot better then USA. Although pay is more in USA, it’s quickly eaten up by all the expenses and trust me when I say you will spend a ton. Your entire city you live in will most likely try to eat away as much of your wallet as you can. People and going outside is just better in Canada. Usa really really sucks apart from pay, especially for kids unless you live in an expensive city. People are Riddled with hate and it’s not safe for kids to play outside because something is def out to get them. Usually it’s a car or a criminal. One thing I’ve noticed is kids in USA end up doing drugs a whole lot more, because there’s not much for the kids to do. Kids can’t spend much and can’t travel far or at all, so they resort to drugs. With my hs done in highschool, a huge majority of the schools were doing one or another sort of drug. Also I’m back in Canada because life as a student is just a whole lot better then the snaky system of USA. Both suck in their own ways though, Canada a whole lot less, plan to move out to an eastern country anywya tjough.

I work in the field in both rural Alberta and British Columbia and most of what you are saying is not the norm.  \n\nYou present two isolated cases of clearly questionable medical experiences. I don't know where you're from, but you will find good and bad doctors (as for any occupation in life frankly), anywhere - it is saddening that you are presenting this and viewers who are not clued up on the facts could interpret this as the norm.  \n\nFurthermore, communicating with your physician via email is considered to be not secure and private and physicians can get into malpractice issues for doing so. On the other hand, there are a number of secure patient communication platforms approved by the health ministries. With that being said, the adoption of the technology lies with individual physicians. There are success stories from the most rural parts of Canada where this is embraced. You are, once again, speaking very broadly which could be interpreted incorrectly as the norm. \n\nTo summarise: Yes, waitlists for doctors are long, but that is about the only universal truth in your segment. Calling up a few friends is certainly not research - a term that is used way too easily by creators and too easily accepted by their audiences.

Etown sucks! Try Calgary it's way better than Edmonton. Sorry to inform you girl but racism is real and is everywhere in North America! I was hoping that Canada would be a safe haven for Black people. I thought that Canada was genuinely liberal in a way that nowhere in the United States is.
